We provide ecommerce software and website design and hosting for ecommerce businesses. With over 300,000 stores built on our platform since 1997, there is no better way to launch your new online business or rebuild your existing website to meet the needs of today’s demanding online retailer.

We offer both Do It Yourself options for the small and medium sized business owners, starting at $ 49.95/mo including website hosting, our software and 24÷7÷365 support.

We also have a full team of design and programming professionals who can Do It For You if you’d prefer that route. Custom built website packages generally start around $ 2500.

We don’t outsource any of our staff, everyone is employed either here in our San Diego headquarters or in our satellite office in Tampa, Florida.

History

Established in 1997.

Miva Merchant truly began in the early 1990’s as HTMLScript. HTMLScript was a tag based scripting language designed to provide a level of interactivity for websites that was mostly unheard of at that time.

In 1997, HTMLScript released a product called KoolKat which was our initial launch into ecommerce and that product became an instant sensation, making the ability to put your product catalog online and accept orders a goal within reach of your average small business owner.

In 1998 we rebranded as Miva, the language became known as Miva Script and the ecommerce platform as Miva Merchant.

In 2004 the original owners sold the company to a publicly traded company known as FindWhat (FWHT) and then in 2007 the current owners, including multiple members of the original management team bought the company back and reembarked on our original vision of providing cutting edge best practices based ecommerce in a way that’s both accessible and affordable for Main Street businesses.
