Mt. Helix Pest & Termite Control

If I could give a rating of «0» stars I would. We purchased a home in Point Loma in April of 2012. At the time, the sellers termite report stated, «There is evidence of dry wood termite damage noted at the roof eaves. Replace or reinforce all damaged wood members as necessary.»
Well, four years later and our house is full of termites, and needs to be tented. We have to replace two French doors which will cost around $ 2000.00 each, door from the kitchen to outside has to be replaced, and, yes, eaves, on all sides of the house. I could go on, but I think I have said enough. According to three new termite companies, there is no way this damage was not evident in 2012. Please beware. When you purchase a house, ask your agent to write into the contact that you, the buyer, select the termite company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I called the office and spoke with Fallon. She was amazing. She was very kind and understanding and so helpful. She remedied my issue immediately. Ive called into the office several times. The women who answer are always pleasant and charming and they really know their job! The technicians are wonderful. ive had a few over to my house for several different treatments. They do a great job of taking care of business. I will always call Mt Helix Pest & Termite Control for my pest control needs.

I am the President of our HOA Board and contracted Mount Helix to tent our units. They did an incredible job. They walked us thru the entire process and provided written back up information as well. They even attended our meeting to show us exactly how to bag everything for tenting. The termites are gone and everyone here is happy with their service.

Worst possible service ever. Broken bulbs and hanging display pieces as well as attic entrance destroyed. Still recovering. Items from fridge shattered and placed in bag to rot other products. Go elsewhere!!!

Zero Stars is what this company deserves! BEWARE they will charge you $ 85.00 to travel 1 zip code! I work with A LOT of termite companies and this companies policies should be considered HIGHWAY robbery! Will NEVER use them again!

Look I’m a board member for a large condominium complex downtown. We contract with Mt. Helix to do regular treatments and spot treat for termites. They seem to do the job ok at a reasonable cost. But I have to take off a star because the only option they offer for treating termites is tenting! That’s right you have to move out, board your pets, move your aquariums all for something that temporarily treats the problem.
If your looking for a more natural approach to termites that doesn’t involve chemicals that are bad for the environment and doesn’t involve moving you out I would look at Xtermite.
Don’t get me wrong John is a good guy and has tons of experience but as the old saying goes if the only tool you have is a hammer everything starts looking like a nail. I’m going to recommend to my board, and use for my own personal property in El Cajon Xtermite just because its natural and doesn’t involve moving out.
So in summary Mt. Helix is good for conventional use of poison chemicals, if you want something else, look else where.

If it were possible to give them a zero, they earned it. Horrible company. They invent their own procedures (not the ones that are approved by, say the companies who make the poison).
Worse, their attitude is everything will die, your plants, your fish and we don’t give a shit. No mitigation strategies and they don’t care.
Oh, then you sign contracts that says they are not responsible for any damage.

We called Mt. Helix Pest & Termite Control told them our problem and the came for a free termite inspection. I was nervous about free, but when he (I think Steve) arrived, on time, and took time to explain everything and answered all my question clearly, I was impressed. he said ours wasn’t a very bad problem. He had a hand drawn diagram with problem areas pointed out and options/​recommendations. He explained he would clean up the diagram and sent me a formal estimate. I scheduled it and John came today and did the work. He arrived in the schedule time and explained the process answering all my questions and concerned. He was great.
I recommend Mt Helix Pest & Termite control.

Mt. Helix has the contract with our HOA to do pest spray in common spaces. We were referred to them when we saw a roach in our drain. They gave us some home remedies over the phone that worked like a charm. They also agreed to schedule a visit to our unit on the HOA contact so we wouldn’t be charged. We didn’t end up really needing the visit since their tips worked so well, but their technician Rene Vivanco still took the time to take a look and give us more great advise. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL AROUND!

Used their service for treatment and repair work on our duplex in La Mesa. Took care if everything from notifying our tenants to repairing and repainting the new wood. Will use again for sure!

They had to be called multiple times to come back out and do the work properly. Finally they came out today and finished. We continue to have problems and the service is lacking

This company offer excellent service, but ever since Audrey is gone, their customer service is ridiculous bad, they have no idea what they are doing in the office, super rude, nothing compare to Audrey, she was a really good asset to the company, was always a pleasure making a local treatment services, but I guess our Property Management Company will be using another vendor.

I need to post a wonderful review for Mt. Helix. They have worked with my house to try and control a rat problem. They’ve been here, checking and checking. I recommend them and I also appreciate their hard work. And really, what theyve charged me has been reasonable for the amount of work theyve done.

Our HOA contracts with Mt. Helix for the pest control needs of our complex. In the past we have had a a very good experience with them — they take care of our common areas. So as a homeowner, I needed their services for the inside of our house. What a pleasant experience. Renee, called and confirmed a 10:00am appointment and said he was in the area could he come about ½ early? I said sure we were ready. He arrive explained the service he was going to perform and we feel he went the extra mile with treating the outside of our house as well. He was very professional, and efficient. Would definitely recommend and use again should the need arises. Well done!

Back when I was in college, I lived in UTC and one summer we had ant infestation. So, the apartment complex sent us Mt Helix Pest & Termite Control to fix the problem. One visit solved the problem for the next two years.
I don’t know what they use, I am sure it is very toxic. So, I would recommend to refrain from using their services if you have any kinds of pets or small children.

As a homeowner and board member of a large HOA I have received very good service from this organization.
Our HOA has brought them in many times for Bee removal from our structures and yesterday, brought them in to remove a very active nest that had started in our Pepper tree.
One call to Audrey Grun, Office Manager in the AM brought immediate response for same day service. By 3PM we had the very capable service professional John to our house to uninvited the migrating Bees. Although the Bees were not to happy, I was very happy. The Bees were gone by sundown surfing the waves and looking for some other place.
Fair price and professional service goes a long way when you look at the large group of pest control services in San Diego. My compliments to owners Steve and Rob. In other words, you get what you pay for.

Our HOA contracts with Mt. Helix for the pest control needs of our complex. In the past we have had a decent experience with them — they tented our building and have done basic pest control.
About two months ago I called to have them come take care of the spiders that were overrunning our townhome! They recommended fogging instead of spraying. I scheduled an appointment and their tech came out about a week later to do the fogging. I was told that I would only have to be out about 2 hours and that when I came back there should only be a faint smell and no clean up.
I re-​entered the house about 3 hours after the fogging and there was a stench of chemical smell in the air and a film all over everything! The carpet, tile, counters, furniture… It was horrible to clean up! Later that night we noticed that the film on the wood furniture was not coming off and that it had ruined the finish. I called the owner of Mt. Helix the next day and he gave me a really hard time and a big run around. Eventually they came out and looked at the furniture (amazing how nice he was when he realized my husband was home) and took responsibility and offered to pay to have it fixed. The thing that REALLY bothered me was that after describing the film and stench they realized that their employee had used the wrong chemical to fog the house… even once they realized this there was no apology made to us! Who knows how dangerous this could have been to us or our animals!
Fortunately our furniture has been fixed, but I will never, ever use this company again!
