I had my first massage experience here. I booked a couples massage for me and my fiancé, who was a first timer as well. The space is large and the set up serene. I wish I could have taken a robe home, it was so soft and cozy. But on to the massage. Gigi was my masseuse and she she was a rock star. She answered my newbie questions with patience and warmth, and went over small details with me that made the experience less unfamiliar. The massage was amazing and I felt great afterwards. It ended with a 10 minute steam shower that included a waterfall and side shower heads. While my experience was flawless the 4 stars come from my fiancée’s experience. He enjoyed his massage as well but felt rushed by his masseuse a couple times during the experience. We were their last appointment since we went right after he got off work. He was rushed a bit to finish his paperwork, it seemed like his massage ended a little before mine, and he only knew it was over because he heard GiGi tell me. These were minor things though, and overall we both agreed we want to do it again.

My first time at this spa (located in hotel Palomar) and would definitely come back again!
My friends found a deal online for $ 79 (massage or facial) and regular price is $ 125. We didn’t have to buy the deal online since we called and they said they would redeem it there. So we decided to drive to San Diego and have a spa day together. Since there are 4 of us, they only had 2 available appointments for a facial and 2 available for a massage which was perfect!
Once we arrived, the lady in the front briefly showed us around the spa. It was beautiful! And super clean and very spacious. The robes were very cozy too! They also give you a bag for all your belonging and lock it up so no one takes anything.
My favorite section of the spa lounge was the private room where me and my friends stayed to talk, drink our champagne, fill out our paper work, lay down and relax together. We when got called to start our massage/​facial, we were each given a room where it included a steam shower.
The massage was great! In the past I would sometimes have a male massage my back and those were the best massages, but this time I had a lady smaller than me. I thought it was going to be a light massage but boy did this lady have a strong grip!
The stream shower was the best! I read reviews before I arrived and some people said they got kicked out so I wasn’t planning to leave the shower till the lady told me too but she never came back for me haha! While I was in the shower, she told me she was going to change the sheets for her next client and I found out it wasn’t in the same room as mine so I got to take my time.
Since the spa is located in downtown San Diego, it is very hard to find parking but for having a reservation at the spa, it’s free valet for 3 hours. The valet guy let us keep our car there for a couple more hours after (at no extra charge) since we wanted to walk around and eat somewhere. The guys working were very nice about it!
If this spa was located closer to home, I would be back sooner!

Had the most amazing girls’ weekend getaway at Hotel Palomar, kickstarted with an entire day of lounging in this relaxing spa, getting massages and drinking champagne They were able to host all 8 of us ladies comfortably in the serenity room together while we melted away the stress of the week. I got a 90 minute Swedish massage with hot stones by Elvira. She’s incredible — as a mom to a one year old, I have to worst knots in my neck and back from carrying around my little one. Not only did she get all of them out, the entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. Little details like essential oil aromatherapy at the beginning and a luxurious rain shower steam at the end put this spa over the top in my book. Will be back for sure!

It looks great outside the locked door at 10:10am. Went down to the lobby and they were unaware spa was still closed. The lobby called and even got voicemail. Went back to spa and still closed at 11am. Horrible service…

Just visited San Diego for my birthday/​babymoon and while we were there my boyfriend surprised me with a pregnancy massage and facial.
The young lady at the front desk was very sweet and helpful. My boyfriend added a soak for me when we arrived and she was very accommodating and spoke with the massage therapist to fit it in and figure out the order in which to do things to make them most beneficial for me.
I had Laticia for my massage and she was wonderful. I was very comfortable during and very relaxed afterwards. My shoulders are always tight and she really worked the knots out.
Lindsey did my facial and did a great job. My skin was glowing and still is now that I’m back in Texas. She made a list of the products she used on me and let me know what she recommends.

I took a random trip to San Diego last weekend and decided to hit up the Nature’s Spa by Jurlique since it was inside the hotel that I was staying at. I got a pedicure and a facial. I didn’t get the name of the person that was doing my pedicure but she was a very petite person (shorter than me and I’m only 5’1″!) and very sweet. She socialized with me and was kind enough to test out one of the polishes on me because I couldn’t decide whether or not it was the color for me. She did a great job. My feet look great and feel happy :) After my pedicure, I got a facial done by Aron Okamoto. I’ve been trying to find a good esthetician and I think SHE’S THE ONE FOR ME!!! At first, she seemed a bit distant so I wasn’t sure how well we would click but once we started talking, I felt very comfortable with her. She did a fantastic job massaging my face, neck, head, and shoulders! I was very relaxed by the end of our session. She recommended some items for me and knew the answers to all of my questions. I walked out a very happy person! Thank you so much, Aron!!! I will definitely be coming back!

I absolutely love this spa! The amenities and overall ambiance was very relaxing and peaceful. The clothing bag, sample toiletries, complimentary teas/​water, and fluffy robes were amazing and so inviting! I got the Swedish massage with a hair masque add-​on, and my entire body turned into putty under Gigi’s expert hands. I also loved the warm rain fall shower that came after my massage. The whole experience was pure bliss!

My boyfriend had planned a surprise weekend for our anniversary and we were to enjoy a couples massage at this spa. Unfortunately, we were unable to receive our treatments because the spa staff cancelled them and didn’t bother to tell us till we arrived for our appointment!
My boyfriend had received a phone call from Leah who works at the spa reception, where she left a message confirming our appointments and to call if we had any questions. We both also received a text message 48 hours prior to our treatment to each of our phones asking us to confirm our appointment via text which we both did. So we thought we were all good to go.
Our appointments were to start at 2:15pm, we arrived at 2pm to get our robes and get settled into the spa. As we approached the spa, Leah and another gentlemen were at the front desk. My boyfriend told her that we had appointments at 2:15pm. Leah, asked if were having the couples massage and when we replied yes, that’s where it all went downhill. Leah proceeded to tell us that we never confirmed our appointment and so SHE CANCELLED THEM! When we explained to her that we received her voicemail confirming our appointment and not only that, we confirmed via their text message system. She told us that the text message system was new and that she really didn’t even know how it worked. She told us that we actually needed to call back to confirm the appointment when she initially called us.
She then began to tell us that she actually called us the day of our appointment (roughly an hour before the start of our treatment) to confirm but that we picked up and hung up the phone. I had to mention to her that we did have a missed a call (how would it show as a missed call if we picked up & then hung up according to Leah?) AND that she failed to leave a message. Don’t you think it would’ve been appropriate to leave a message if you were canceling our appointments!?? Leah, stood by her version and that unfortunately they didn’t have anything for us because they only have massage therapist onsite when they have scheduled appointments. She wasn’t able to offer us any solutions since we were only staying for 1 night and we had made plans for dinner reservations for the evening.
I’m baffled by the lack of understanding on how a confirmation works on their part. Regardless of your text message system being new, you should know how it works! I’m sorry you called us confirming our appointments AND you texted us AND you still cancelled our appointment! Leah could’ve been a little more sympathetic since she’s the one who cancelled them and I would’ve hoped she could’ve offered a better solution (and maybe actually offer something versus me asking for a solution). The experience I had here was the worst and I will not be returning or recommending this spa to anyone else!

I had Nina for a facial. It was my first facial ever and I absolutely loved it and would recommend Nina! She told me everything we were going to do before we did it and I loved that, she also explained how the products worked on my face although she didn’t push any sales on me, or talked so much I couldn’t relax. It was the right balance of talking and relaxing, it was so relaxing and soothing I fell asleep and that’s always a good sign at a spa.

They have stepped up their game here. A few tidbits that I learned to get the most out of the experience are as follows:
— arrive early and settle in with a good book or some magazines
— in the changing area be sure to ASK for a bag so they can hold your personal items and you can get into a comfy robe because they don’t have lockers
— they provide flip flops but I would bring my own
— ASK for tea and water
— the main key is all and you shall receive
Then settle in and bring a bathing suit in case you want to go to the pool or jacuzzi at the bar
— tell the staff you want to do this and they will keep your belongings and at the end you can come back and shower and change.
Then come when it’s not super crowded ie a weeknight and you will have the place mainly to yourself
Also shout out to the sheets!
— please someone tell me where to get those soft sheets!
— the beds are extra comfy bc of the heating pad underneath
Last but not least are the amazing massage therapists and the options for add-​ons. Be sure to fill out the form that allows the massage therapist to know what you like and where to focus on. I have a lot of knots and they got them out with hot stones. Be vocal about what you want and you’ll leave a content, relaxed and rejuvenated customer :)

Went in last tonight for a birthday spa day and this has to be one of the best massages I’ve ever my boyfriend now wants one at least once a week. It’s worth the money.

This review is for Se Spa at Hotel Palomar. I think I’m at the right place, bc there are other reviews on here for Se Spa but I guess they changed the name? Lol idk. Anywhere here we go:
I had spa day with my bestest here a month of so before her wedding and had a well spent day. The relaxation room is gorgeous. It’s probably one of the biggest lounges that I’ve seen at a spa and I especially love it because if you’re there with a party, there’s actually like a little private booth area at the end of the room you can chill in. Even tho’ there was only two of us that’s where we sat hahha. But yes I also loved how if you were by yourself, you could pull the curtains out a bit to segregate your chair from the next chair and form your own little isolated space. Also the plush rug is heaven. I remember taking off my shoes like this is happening I need to walk barefoot on this thing hahaha. The only weird thing about the relaxation room is that I think it’s a no-​no to chill there in your robe. Like idk i’m not sure but I was effing rushed out of my massage room which is why I’m giving them a 3.5 star review. I literally did not have time to change, so I met my friend back in the lounge in my robe but her and everyone else in there were like fully clothed and I remember some guy looking at me like what is this girl doing. But chill’n in your robe is completely copacetic at the other spas I’ve been to. Just lounging around. Then again, you’re usually given like a locker but anyway idk
So my actual massage was done by Lindsey and she was fantastic. Totally in tune to me and what I needed, I didn’t really need to tell her too much, she could definitely feel what areas needed work and the pressure was perfect. She’s definitely top 5 of the best masseurs I’ve worked with in SD. Go to her! And the room I had my massage in was super dim lit and tranquil. The only thing was that after my massage she told me that I had 5 minutes to take a shower. I was like wtf it takes me like 5 minutes just to wash my face what about the rest of my body and hair?! It was such a shame too bc the shower was gorgeous! rofl my friend hahahaha said that she took like a really long shower like idk 20 – 30 min or something like that and her masseurs was like freaking out bc he said he had a client waiting but she had no idea that you know she was supposed to hurry. lol! So anyway the relaxation that I gained during the massage was completely displaced by being rushed through my shower. And then I had no time to like fix myself up so I walked out of there and into the relaxation room with like a towel around my hair and just like a mess. lmaaaaoooo I had to like ask for a place to change in, because there’s no lady’s locker room or anything. and I think I also had to ask for some lotion bc all the products were like in the individual massage rooms that you’re scooted out of.
Anyway, we hung out there for a bit longer, indulging in some champagne and girl talk. I do love this spa and would definitely come back. I’ll just maybe ask if they could space me out a bit better so I’m not rushed to leave my room bc a huge part of a spa is trying out spa products, at least for me and so it sucked not being able to fully indulge myself in it. Otherwise yeah it was a pleasant day!

This is by far the best spa I have ever been to! …and I have been to some really fancy smancy places. (not worth mentioning)
My overall experience was Amazing!

The staff are very friendly and professional, from the moment you walk in till you leave they are truly there by your side to pamper you.
The Spa itself is very clean and has a very peaceful feel that overtakes you from the front door.
I had a one hour massage by Antona, she is a small packaged powerhouse!
My massage was so relaxing and I felt instant stress relief, she truly knew exactly what areas my body needed work on. She honestly was so great, I scheduled my husband with her the following week and I got a hour facial. My husband is very fit but has sports injuries from over the years and Antonia had the skills and strength to treat him. He looked very refreshed & relaxed. He said that his aches and pains were gone!
Just when I started to think well… nothing can compare to the massage.
I was so surprised by the facial I got by Aron, I have never had a facial before so, I get that I do not have a lot to compare this to but believe me when I tell you that, I left there glowing!
I had their «Signature Revitalizing Facial» from start to finish this was so refreshing and relaxing with every step… and you also get a facial and neck massage!
I was shocked at how much, I learned during my facial.
I learned a ton from Aron about Jurlique’s all natural products (made with plant extracts and antioxidants) and she also taught me about what I should be using on my skin at home, until I buy my products.
There is no question, I will be returning to this spa… as soon as possible. It is very important to take time to treat yourself and I am confident saying «their services are worth every penny!»

After $ 700 and 3 hours, we expected to leave the spa feeling amazing. What we felt, believe it or not, was stressed. The reason for the stress was the fact that the spa only allows 30 minutes in the couples room for the couples package. How in the world were we supposed to drink a glass of champagne, eat a bowl of berries, soak in the bathtub, take a steam, AND get dressed in half an hour??? There’s no locker room so you have to somehow get dressed and ready in the couples room, with no mirror and no hairdryer. We wanted to have dinner afterwards but walked out with wet hair looking like scrubs.
We had a facial before the couples package, and it was fine but they only did a couple extractions. I’ve had way better facials for half the price. The massage was also fine, but nothing spectacular. I’ve certainly had better and for much less money. The couples room was nice but we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it. Very disappointing spa experience.

My whole massage experience with the spa at Hotel Palomar was EXCELLENT!
I’ve had more than a couple massages but this place stands apart from them all. From my encounter with the spa manager, to my therapist, cleanliness, ambiance. the whole nine was truly exceptional.
Around the holiday, I Unilocaled spas up and down the west coast to find a Christmas gift for the boyfriend. Se spa came up with pretty good reviews, so my friend and I drove down to SD to check it out. We had chit chatted with the manager and he had mentioned to us that a recent promo ran in the local paper that he could honor for us. It was a great deal on a couples spa package. So good my friend, who had no intention of purchasing got one as well. He said it was good for any amount of time with no expiration.
A few months later when we came back on vacation, we had the best spa experience ever! My therapist, Eric, was fantastic, highly recommended. My boyfriend had a female therapist, can’t remember her name, but he said she was excellent as well. The package also came with additional time in the couples suite, for sauna and soaking tub time. The bottle of champagne and fresh fruit were a nice touch as well. The facility was clean and beautifully decorated. Also, valet is free if you have an appointment at the spa!
We definitely will return!

For the facial… I had no extractions, and I know my fave is not perfect. But the rest was super relaxing and Im glowing.
The massage:
The scrub was delicious, a bit rushed. The steam bath I got to take after that was great! I just wish I had known that if I wanted to shower, not just rinse off, that was my last chance… I live in SD, Im not staying at the hotel and while everything but the massage (rushed and just caressed me with oil) was great, I have oily and look all messy from not showering after all the treatments I got… This would have been good to know at least.
The place is clean and beautiful but we do need some communication as to when its a good time to shower because some of us have plans to go out afterwards. And lockers are needed… Such a nice and pricey place and everyone is carrying around their stuff???
Ill come back if I do a stay cation…

oh my goodness. the masseuse i had here was named David (I think!!). it’s actually taken me a few months to getting around to write this review so i im guessing his name. He… was… the… best… ever. holy crap. the hour massages are on the expensive side, but i have never hurt so good in my life. free valet parking with spa service!

My boyfriend surprised me for Valentine’s Day with the couples massage package at Se Spa. Oh my goodness, what an amazing experience! Large, beautiful room with two massage tables, a bath tub, hot steam shower, candles, champagne, etc. Aside from the ambiance, my sweedish massage and his deep tissue massage were two of the best we have ever had! I would definitely recommend this package to a couple looking for something special, or the spa and services in general to someone looking for a spa day!

No idea where to begin, I am such a fan of this spa, I can never go anywhere else
I was never that much into spas until I was introduced to Se Spa, this led me to brance out and try others. Honestly Se Spa is such a unique experience others do not compare.
Lets start with they sell Clarisonic and Jurlique– If i use anyhting else, my sensitive skin becomes a night mare, dryness break outs you name it. I love my clarisonic and the Jurlique line is delicate and effective and its an all natural autstrailian company that is nothing but top quality. They even have a great mens line that my husband loves and uses for shaving. he even uses the clarisonic and says it has made a world in preventing razor burns and in grown hairs
The spa is a suite style spa so its very private and intimate. Nothing makes me more uncomfrotable then group showers or a group suana that always has that awkward older guest just sprawled out in the suana. This Spa has a private shower in each treatment suite and your steamer is built straight into your shower. The shower is heaven all on its own. I love the intimate feel I come to a spa to relax not spend time with strangers sorry if that sounds snobby but for my money i want the private expereince.
there is even a private couples suite my husband is dying to try out. private steam shower for 2, private restroom, seating area, soaking tub you can add on to your service. epson salts they use small amazing I have bought some to take home before
The massages are amazing I always come out feeling like a brand new person, my migranes are gone, my stress melted away and oh man even the sun feels happier. Worth every single penny. If you check in on Unilocal you also get a free goodie bag
the spa is hidden in Hotel palomar in gaslamp the spa is on the 3^rd floor. they even have complimentary valet parking if you validate at the spa.
I am a fan of this spa hard core, You can not find a better value for the price. the therapists are amazing such great personalities never met one i didnt like.

We booked a couples massage and were given a couple’s «suite» where you have your own steam shower, bathroom and a Jacuzzi tub. Also bathrobes and slippers are provided. Our massage therapists were very pleasant and professional, i must say that my massage was one of the best i ever had.
