Need A Hand?

I was getting frustrated because i was having a difficult time getting estimates from numerous handymen, let alone getting my fireplace hearth and back splash tile job done. Aaron called me back right away and asked me to send a picture of the fireplace with the old tile and from there, he provided an estimate. Within 2 weeks the job was done to perfection and I’m having Need A Hand estimate a bathtub-​to-​shower conversion. Aaron can do it all and the quality is top-​notch. I’m referring him to all my friends and neighbors too.

Aaron comes through again! One tenant moves out and a new tenant moves in after a complete transformation of the house in 8 days. With 2 weeks to plan and only 8 days to act Aaron did it. What’s it? Let’s begin with removing the old floor and laying new tiles throughout, remodeling the kitchen including replacing counter tops with slab granite and a new undermount sink, adding shelves, new light fixtures, & a new cabinet. Then let’s add upgrading of electrical in 2 houses, adding hardwired smoke & CO detectors and then because that was not enough for the SUPERMAN Aaron I added a bathroom cabinet, new granite counter in bathroom and a new sink and a repair of some old work. But we are not done yet — and remember this is all in EIGHT days — an area needed to be fenced outside, an old gate repaired, a new gate built and the old fence partially rebuilt. And we are still not done… oh no, no job is complete without just one more thing… a repainting of the entire interior of the house — ceilings, walls, inside cabinets, outside cabinets, cove moulding, and lest I forget the house without baseboards now has new baseboards throughout. Now I could say we’re done, but oh no — just one more thing! The punch list of items that Aaron needs to come back to fix consists of ZERO items — you read that right, the punch list consists of ZERO items for callback. Woohoo! 8 days! This is why I call Aaron for EVERY job I have and you should too!!!

I hate when I someone who comes with good recommendations lets me down. I called Aaron based on all the reviews.
He did come to look at my repair but was not interested in taking the time to do it claiming he was busy with a big remodel. I did ask him for an estimate on going granite counters in my kitchen. He took measurements, said he would call me the next day with an estimate and did not follow up.
His work may be great but either he’s too busy or my work was not exepsensive enought to rate any quality service.

I can’t recommend Aaron enough!!! You would be hard-​pressed to find anyone as honest and with such integrity as this man. Keep reading about my experience and you’ll be astonished. I hired Aaron to fix my closet doors and replace the tracks which hang the closet doors. He came out the very next day after I called him, gave me an estimate which was reasonable, and fixed the doors the same day. He did a great and quick job and did it for the price we agreed to.
I couldn’t have been more satisfied with his work but this is not what blew me away as far as his honesty. Aaron found $ 500 tucked and well hidden deep in the closet door tracks. You could tell the money was hidden there for years by the dust on it, how it was folded, and where it was found. I have owned the property for four years so the money must have been hidden there by one of the two previous owners. Instead keeping the money or part of it, Aaron gave me the entire $ 500 and showed me exactly where he found it. This truly impressed me and blew me away. Many people would not do this, let alone a contractor that you hired for the first time. But his honesty and integrity did not stop here…
Because I was so impressed by him, I asked him for an estimate on a much larger job. I had an awful smell that I couldn’t get rid of because it was coming from underneath the large stone tiles we had in a large walk-​in shower. I asked him to give me an estimate on how much it would cost to remove the stone, repair any mold, and replace the stone tiles. I thought it would cost at least $ 1,200 but what did Aaron do? He talked me out of what I had planned and recommended I first try treating it with large doses of bleach and that should take care of it. IT DID!!! He could have made a lot of money on this job but didn’t, and instead taught me how to do an almost free solution. This also impressed me a great deal. Needless to say, I will definitely use «Need a Hand?» again.

Aaron, was the best. We work out of our home and he was patient with us and worked the jobs around our business calls and clients coming in. I had a list of «honey-do’s» and Aaron did them all to perfection! Yes, it may be hard to get a hold of him, but, remember he is only one person and has a lot of work! A good thing as while he was here he did not get sidetracked by other calls and worked to complete my list efficiently and without other drama. YAY!!! Thanks Aaron. A fan is born. Will call you for more of my lighting needs.

I contacted Need A Hand to have my shower valve replaced and a can light repaired. Aaron was very responsive and went above and beyond to keep in touch with me throughout the process. I would definitely use Need A Hand again and would recommend to anyone looking for a reliable handyman /​contractor.

Since this person has such good reviews, I wanted to give him a try. And perhaps he does good work as the other reviews indicate, but I don’t know how they arranged to get the work done. I’ve been trying to reach him for a few weeks now, but he only returned my call once. The return call took over a week later and now it has been over a week since my last message and I have yet to hear back from him.
I’ve concluded that if he’s so difficult to reach for new work, it will be at least as hard — if not harder — to reach him if there’s a question or problem with work already performed so I’m going to find someone else.

I was very happy with everything in working with Aaron! He was responsive, flexible, gave accuate estimates, they cleaned up well and did great work!

Excellent work. Showed up on time and the final price matched the quote (how often does that happen?). Aaron and his team were very clean, didn’t leave a mess, and did a quality job. I will definitely use them again.

I am disappointed with this company. First of all they set a 3 hour appointment time and never showed. When I called 15 minutes prior to the end of the 3 hour window given, Aaron said he was sorry but the plumber would not be able to make the job because he was running behind. Ok, I’m sure he knew this before 15 minutes before he was supposed to show, he should have called and rescheduled earlier so I didn’t waste my time sitting around waiting. Aaron rescheduled for the next day, «first appointment of the day, 8:30». Well the guy was 20 minutes late, came in and checked the faucet then went outside for another 15 minutes, doing what who knows? Probably on the phone with someone else. When he returned it took him an hour to replace a kitchen faucet, an hour, that seems excessive! Also the reason I called Need A Hand instead of just a plumbing company is because I also wanted a water damaged kitchen cabinet floor replaced. After replacing the faucet the guy told me it would be easier if I cut my own plywood and just placed it over the water damaged area. What? I didn’t call you to do the work myself. By this time I was so frustrated I just wanted him done, I paid the $ 150 bill and he left. I won’t be calling Need A Hand again. From my experience their are more professional plumbers who don’t take as long and charge as much as they did. I guess I’m going to have to figure out what to do with the cabinet myself or hire someone else who is competent enough to do the job.

Aaron came to my house and did an estimate for the little projects I needed done, he met my dogs, he liked them (and they liked him– bonus!) he sent me the estimate that day and I was quickly able to schedule an appointment. He was on time and completed all of the projects, including 10 blinds that needed to be installed. I had to go to work and left him with my dogs.
Reasonably priced, great work and a good guy!

I needed a contractor to come out and replace a bathroom shower stall and put in a new tub after a family member literally fell through the rotted floor that was quite brazenly NOT waterproofed or installed correctly by the last owner. I had a few contractors come out for estimates but the moment Aaron from Need A Hand came out, I knew I had found the right contractor. He gave me a quick appointment after noticing the dangerous (and gross!) hole in my bathroom floor, he worked out a very fair estimate. Not only that, he also was willing to add in a few small extra jobs that had been neglected on the «honey do» list.
Once we scheduled a start date, he kept me informed of the progress and when each of the sub-​contractors would be coming by. ALL of the guys were friendly and the quality of their work was beautiful, functional, and most importantly, up to code (yay, no more holes in the floor!).
I can’t wait to call Aaron again for my next project!

I am so happy to have finally found a handyman that is honest, fairly priced, trustworthy to be able to leave in my home while I am at work, punctual and an all around nice person!
I didn’t have any one major project but a collection of small projects that I kept putting off because, frankly, what would have taken me weeks to complete (with much frustration) he was able to do in a day.
I will definitely use him again and refer out to friends.

Aaron did a great job fixing our garage door. He showed up on time, gave us an accurate estimate, and finished the job super quick. He was a really nice guy and cleaned up his work area before he left.
I called him again last week to install two light fixtures, and he had it done within a day.
I will definitely call him any time I have work to be done around the house and I would recommend him to any of my friends. A good handyman is hard to find, so I am stoked that I have someone I can trust.

I was fortunate today to find «Need a Hand?» on Unilocal-​fortunate, because the owner is Aaron Burda. He answered on the third ring and was over here in less than an hour. I was really pleased with his work and his work ethic. Aaron was interested in doing the work the right way, very professional and easy to talk with. I will definitely hire him again and again.

Aaron did a quality job on my kitchen lighting and completed the project on schedule. I would use Need a Hand for another home improvement project.

I searched forever-​Craigslist, BBB, AngiesList, GSDBA and after meeting and hiring Aaron, I realized he was the guy I had been looking for the whole time. I have engaged him for work at my rental property, my home and for the HOA in which I’m involved. Hired him for painting, tile work, stone work, plumbing, electrical, remodels and small jobs, too. I have referred him to several friends and all have been really happy. What stands out the most to me is the caliber of his work and his reasonable prices. To mix things up, I have gotten estimates from other contractors & handymen, but I always go back and choose Aaron.

Definately as good as it gets. So pleased with the work they did. Aaron was wonderful as was the plumber working with him. Recessed my frig which involved rerouting gas and electric in top of cutting a wall. Quick wonderful job. even took time to help my blind neighbor in distress at no extra charge. :-)

I am so excited to share my experience with Need A Hand! We first contacted Need A Hand in April 2010 after a good friend gave an enthusiastic recommendation of Aaron Burda, Need A Hand’s owner. Our home was in desperate need of new siding and we were looking for an affordable, skilled crew to handle the project for us.
Our initial conversation with Aaron was friendly and he offered to come out to our home right away to provide an estimate. We subsequently hired Aaron/​Need A Hand and were happy that they were able to schedule our project within a few weeks.
The Need A Hand crew was at our home for a couple of weeks in May 2010, hanging new siding and trimming out our windows and porch. They showed up early each day and worked hard all day long. They cleaned up each night and were friendly. I am so happy with them! The work they have done is truly above and beyond what I anticipated. They have turned my rather plain California Bungalow in to a very charming home with Craftsman details. They really know what they are doing — they have truly helped us by presenting innovative ideas that we would not have thought to do on our own. I was so excited each day to step outside and see their work at day’s end. They have just done such an amazing job — and at an affordable price — and I could not be more pleased. We subsequently hired Need A Hand to paint the exterior of our home and that went extremely well too. Again, they painted trim colors in places I would never have thought to do and the end result was a far more custom, craftsman look than I would have thought was possible.
Aside from being a skilled handyman and contractor, Aaron is an extremely likeable guy and it has been fun to work with him. We will definitely use Need A Hand again and would recommend their services without hesitation. You will not be disappointed!
