These guys know cars that’s for sure. They have always right on point with my two cars that I bring to them. And I have always been pleased with there work. They are not the cheapest in town but they are truly one of the BEST in town.

True professionals. Keith will assess your vehicle, explain what it needs and doesn’t need, tell you the time and cost and give you honest options. Excellent communication by phone if anything has come up. I have been in twice with excellent service, this last time for a new pair of drive axles and bushings for my ’05 diesel Jetta and new rear brake pads. Service was quick, fairly priced and done right. I’ll be back!

I agree with all of the other reviewers that North Park Imports is, by far, the best. I took my car in for routine maintenance and Keith and Dave did a full inspection of the car. They were able to point out other work that needs to be done and to help me prioritize it. Both guys give great explanations of what they see and why it needs to be corrected.
They have my 5 star recommendation, my future business, and my appreciation.

Exceptional customer service, outstanding work, courteous, professional & very knowledgeable. I only have good things to say about Keith and his great shop. Having recently moved to San Diego and needing a mechanic, drove by the shop a few times and always noticed multiple air-cooled’s inside and out. Decided to come here to get some work done on my beetle and was extremely pleased. Work got done quickly, Keith noticed and pointed out a few things that needed repair, his prices were very fair and this is the only shop I will use while in SD.

Thank you, fellow Unilocalers, for guiding me here. I had just gotten an oil change somewhere else, and brought my car to North Park Imports for an overdue 80,000 mile service on my 2009 VW GTI. I won’t be taking my car to one of those «quick lube» places again. It seems that all they did was drain and replace my oil and change the oil filter. My car needs a little more attention than that.
It had a cabin air filter that was long overdue to be changed. No wonder my AC had been smelling like stale air. The oil change place hadn’t bothered to change the oil drain plug, which now leaks. The windshield wiper fluid was empty and the coolant needed to be topped off. Those oil change places may be quick, but they also don’t rotate your tires, and didn’t catch the fact that I had two worn out tires and two more that were riddled with nails and screws from working next to a construction site! So many hard lessons learned on this trip to the mechanic.
Keith was great because he patiently explained the issues my car has, and even introduced me to his friend John, who manages the Discount Tire on Mission Gorge, and got me a great deal on a set of four new tires. I’ll be back in a couple weeks for the additional repairs my car needs. For now, I’m pleased with my smoother ride, sweet-​smelling cabin, and the knowledge that «oil change specialists» are the worst people to go to for an oil change. I prefer Keith’s holistic approach to maintaining my car.

I recently purchased a 2003 VW Golf. Yet the last year the car has been giving me trouble. I have been taking my car to North Park Imports and Keith and Dave have done an amazing job with it. Any issue I have they are willing to check and give clear information (down to even showing me the parts) and a very fair price. Their customer service has been the best I have ever had. My dad is a mechanic in another state so I have been around cars my whole life. I have been to other mechanics and have been given the run around, over priced, treated rudely, etc. due to being a woman. Such is not the case with this business or these mechanics. North Park Imports is by far the best place to take you car for any issue! I won’t go any where else!

I have to say this is by far the best mechanic shop I have ever been to. Keith and Dave are fantastic. Very knowledgeable and very helpful over all. The prices are extremely fair and they don’t just try to flat rate you on every project. They have recently done a ton of work on my Honda and done very challenging work on my VW. There is but another shop I would go to in town! I would refer anyone and everyone to this shop! Keep up the great work!

So. I own a 2000 VW Beetle that needed repair. Registration was due since April, need to pass the smog test, check engine light is on. Yada.Yada. Dreading the cost of repair and from bad previous experience at other shop (mission hills auto repair). I posted on Facebook for a recommendation and Northpark import came up. Keith is awesome! Drop off the car and he told me that he’ll have my car ready in 2 days. Mean while he call me and explained the repair and cost. I really appreciate the great job and fair price. Will bring my car back and definitely recommend him to everyone. All is well again in the world. Thanks Keith!!!

Keith is the most honest mechanic I’ve known. I was referred to NPI by a friend several years ago and now several of my friends are also bringing their vehicles to NPI. Did I mention I’m a woman? Keith treats everyone equally and with respect!

An honest mechanic. Seriously. I’ll never go anywhere else as long as I live in San Diego. I’ve been several times and each time Keith is a straight shooter. I didn’t realize how great they were until I started researching and getting other quotes on my timing belt replacement. Other shops wanted no less than $ 200 more!

North Park Imports is one of the best auto shops in town! I’ve been taking my Subaru there for many years and recently had a tune up, breaks, and some belts replaced. Keith is super friendly and helpful, doesn’t dump it down for you. I moved to Santa Barbara recently but, if anything happens to my car I’ll be towing it to North Park Imports. Keith kept the price as low as he could and his crew was super fast to get my car back to me. Thanks Keith and crew at North Park Imports; I’ll be coming back for sure!

I was reccommended to check out North Park Imports from the guys across the street at Moreno Tire. I brought my bug in to be investigated and these guys were so helpful when I was in a tight spot! They did a full diagnostics at the cheapest I’ve ever paid and only charged me for my estimated quote of labor, when in reality it took significantly longer. Keith took an extra step to give the car a full inspection, beyond what I paid for & even waited twice after hours for me to come from work and pick up and my car (after I declined repairs– my bug needed a new ABS system from the dealer). They also offered to look over any used vehicle I may be purchasing in the future. I will def be returning here and feel confident recommending people!

Keith takes care of my cars when I go on deployment. Having someone that my wife can go to and not get cheated is a huge sigh of relief when I deploy. Several times over the last ten years Keith has told me not to do certain jobs that I would have easily agreed to if a least trustworthy mechanic had told me it was necessary. He also occasionally gives me life advice which I intelligently never turn down.

I had gone through 3 mechanics with the same car and never had any luck with consistant service. My co workers reccomended Keith at North Park Imports and I am glad they did. I have an 02 madza that I drive alot and is need of some tlc.
They are the real deal– no bullshit. He will tell you what you need and what you dont need and how long until you need it. No greasy sleeze ball trying to pull one on you.

I was referred to Keith from a friend who referred two of us. The both of us now go to and absolutely love the work that Keith and his crew do. The help, service and cost is all outstanding. I never felt pressured and felt I received the most trustworthy service anyone could ask for. Since my first visit I’ve gotten my brakes, belt, battery, oil changed and tires rotated and would continue to give him my business if I weren’t moving to Austin. :(I hope I can find someone as much as I like him in TX. Since my visit I have referred two more people who have also used Keith and think he’s great. I would defnitely recommend Keith and North Park Imports to anyone.

It is rare that a company receives such a high percentage of five star reviews, but after visiting North Park Imports I understand why it is an exceptional shop.
Worked with Keith throughout the entire process — he really takes care of his customers. Our older Lexus needed a timing belt replaced and some TLC, and Keith was able to complete all work surprisingly quickly for a very affordable price. He did a great job of inspecting the vehicle to let us know which items needed our attention while simultaneously ensuring he kept costs down.
This is a smart shop that would rather earn customers’ loyalty, business, and referrals for years to come rather than performing unneeded work to make an extra buck on a one-​time transaction. Trustworthy neighborhood mechanic who I look forward to using again.

My brake lining notice came on and I just knew my repair/​maintenance was going to be an ordeal. I was referred by a friend and very glad I went here.
Keith took a few minutes to examine by car and told me I only needed to have the front brakes pads, sensors and rotors replaced. He gave me a full estimate AFTER calling a parts dealer to get prices on the items.
Took my car in when they opened and had the car back in 4 hours. He kept to his word on the estimate and I could not have been happier. This was the easiest and least stressful repair I have ever had done. I will continue to go back to him and will recommend this repair shop to anyone who will listen.

Keith is the most trustworthy and honest mechanic I have ever encountered. I went in with my bug that needed major work he quoted me 6 hrs of labor but the job took about 9 to complete. He told me that he would only charge me the 6 he quoted. This guy is amazing and he did an amazing job. I can’t tell you how important it is to have someone that knows what he is doing. I had a shitty mechanic work on my car from craigslist and he screwed it up more than it was but Keith fixed my mess and got it back on the road. That was about a month ago and I haven’t had trouble with it at all since. Thanks Keith!
