Oaks North Golf Course

The golf courses east west and south courses are pretty decent shape. Putting green are a bit small. Friendly staff. Green fees are reasonable.

A bit pricy for an executive course but you can usually find a good deal online. I think it’s a good course for practicing your longer irons and short game

Pretty nice 27 hole course in RB. Only played once so far but based on my first round here, I’ll definitely be back.
I like that they have both a putting and a chipping green here in addition to the range. While the chipping green was a bit on the small side I was just glad they at least had one. The range is also nice. The day we went they only allowed hitting off the mats but I was told they also allow hitting off the grass as well. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. So no complaints about service.
The course itself is very well maintained. It’s an executive course so don’t expect to pull your driver out on very many holes, but there are a few. Besides, its still a challenging enough course to help you hone your short game. The fairways and greens on the East and South courses were very well manicured. Haven’t played North yet.
We played on a very chilly Saturday morning in December and it was freezing! We teed off at 7:30am and it didn’t start warming up until around 9ish. The late morning temp was about 60 degrees, and the early morning was in the low to mid 40’s, I’d say. So if you ever play early mornings in December, bundle up!
Pace of play was alright. Finished in a little under 4 hours.
I got a deal on Golf Now for $ 27 (no cart). Cart fee is $ 10. Not a bad deal for what you get here. I know I’ll be back for sure.

I used to play this course a lot but not any more because quality of the people working at this place got worse except a few very good long time guys. This is sad and very unfortunate.

Went about midday, played with a buddy of mine, overall it was a good course. The only complaint is that the Tee boxes were uneven. Other than that, the greens played nicely, the grounds were wells maintained and the staff was friendly. Will be back to play again

Fun course that is good for me and my 10 year old son. We’ve come multiple times and both walked the course and drove in a cart. They have three courses all maintained well along with a driving range and putting/​chipping areas. One of the courses also now has the 15 inch holes which can trick you because the hole is so large. You need to still take your time and read the green. It did make putting quicker and we actually finished 9 holes more quickly with the 15 inch holes.

This golf course is really nice, but it used to be a lot better. When I first started playing it, the fee for 9 holes was around 25 dollars for 2 people and a cart on weekdays, and that was only about 10 years ago.
Now, they try to squeeze all the money out of the golfer, so it’s 42 dollars for 2 players and only 9 holes.
It’s really crap to pay that much for 9 holes, when you could play Mt. Woodson golf course, 18 holes, for the same price with the cart, it’s only a little further away.
Stay away from this course unless you love to waste money.
Also, the staff at the course are not very nice. If you want to go to a real nice golf course, go to Mt. Woodson or RB Inn. The staff there treat you like you are a human being

Fun executive courses, three to choose from. Not anything to crazy or far, but enjoyable and fun for a day out on the course!

This is a place that I’d like to give 5 stars, but given that I hardly ever golf I think it would be unfair for me to rate it as Good As It Gets when I don’t have much else to compare it to. :)
Being a pretty poor golfer, here is what I like about this place.
— wide fairways and little shrubbery or tall grasses make it very easy to not lose balls (here I may lose 1 ball in 18 holes, whereas on a course like Tecolote I will probably lose 5 or so).
— 27 holes mean that you can get variety even when coming to the course 3 weeks in a row (one week you can request to play North/​East, another week East/​South, and another South/​North).
— the distances are just right for me to enjoy my game and have it be quite varied. Unlike the Mission Bay executive course which is loaded with super short holes, this course seems much better balanced to me. It averages about 195 yards per hole, with as ratio of two par 3 holes for every par 4 hole.
— it is relatively inexpensive, especially if one gets a weekday twilight match (prices are here:

— they offer membership discount cards for those who are planning on playing here and/​or at their sister clubs on a frequent basis (

Now, if I could just learn to hit that little white ball instead of digging up the turf half the time, all would be good. :)

Played on a few exec golf courses, this is becoming one of my favorites. The holes are bit long (160 – 220 yards) so if you’re upgrading from smaller exec courses, this is the place for you. Wide open greens and a great layout.
The mix and matching you can do with the 3 different combos of North/​East/​South can add a lot of variety to this course.

This is a great course and is definitely one of my favorite executive courses. There are three 9 hole courses; North, East, and South. If you play 18 holes, you will normally get placed on a random consecutive pair (North/​East, East/​South, or South/​North).
I like having the three course because you get some variety and you aren’t always playing the exact same course. My favorite combination is East/​South, it is fun and provides a good challenge. The only problem I have with the East course is that hole 18 runs parallel to the driving range, so if you hit over the trees to the right you ball is gone.
They have a pretty good driving range with around 20 mats. The buckets are a bit expensive compared to going to other driving ranges and they only have one size. They are small buckets with I am guessing between 20 – 30 balls for $ 5. There are a couple of practice greens next to the driving range which are perfect to get a judge of the green speeds for the day.
Overall, the course is well maintained and a lot of fun to play. I recommended it to anyone looking to play a good executive course. And if you want something more challenging, Rancho Bernardo Inn is just across the street.

Reasonably priced per 3 golf course. You can finish wi 3 hours, perfect for quick after work golf.

Well kept and fairly open executive course with some water hazards and some bunkers to left or right of the greens. A few putting greens can be challenging and most run fast especially if your putting down to the hole. While it is tempting to land the green, an errant shot can roll you out of par position ie leave you with a down hill lie or rolled out into water.
This cousre features 3 true executive 9 hole options, North, East and South. North has minimal elevation changes and is forgiving, but the 3^rd and 8^th holes can be punishing with slopes leading to the water. The East course is harder, and the South likely the hardest of the three. Again, an Exec course with no par 5s and only 2 holes over 300 yards, but it is not a pitch and putt. 18 holes should take under 4 hours.
This course welcomes golfers of all ages and skill levels and has an acitve junior program.
Can get hot in the summer, especially if you are walking. Consistent customer service which is above average and while it was busy on a holiday weekend, it did not get backed up. Beer selection could be better, but hey, they had the staples.

It sometimes gets hard to find things to do as a couple besides shopping, eating, and doing the usual san diego things.
my fiancé thought it would be fun for her to finally go on the golf course and come golf with me. So it was my job to find a course that was fun, inviting, and not too difficult and long. I heard good things about this course so we booked our tee time on golfnow.
course has 3 9 hole layouts and proved to be fun. I highly recommend this place for the casual golfer or the beginner. In fact, i even recommend this course to anyone who wants to work on their short game as well.
no cart girl here so make sure you bring a cold drink with you because it can get very warm out there

I’ve never been golfing in my life before but it was about time i gave golf a chance. it was my first time playing 18 holes and it turned out to be a great time. The Staff is very friendly and the course is kept in great condition. One thing i found to be pretty funny about this course was that many of the holes were located literally in people’s backyards. It was funny to be getting ready to putt and out of the corner of your eye someone is watering their plants loll I wonder what kind of insurance they have against golf balls smashing through their windows.
If you don’t want to do a whole 18 holes, they do have 3 9 hole courses to fit your needs. There are no rules on having «drinks» on the course, so load up your golf bag with some refreshments and grab a cart for some afternoon fun.

Favorite place to play in the city. They got a range and a putting green for practice beforehand. The course boasts 3 9-​hole courses all of which are challenging. My favorite two has to be the south and the east course. All the courses are impeccably maintained, kudos to the greenskeepers.
My only complaint is that it’s a bit pricey for an executive course but you really do get what you pay for.

For an executive course Oaks North is fun. The greens are usually in really good shape. The driving range is great when they let you hit off of the grass, I personally hate hitting off of mats so its a hit or miss what kind of setup they have going each day.
If you’re planning on playing on the weekend be ready for slow play. I prefer to walk the course to slow my pace of play down to help avoid waiting.
Their practice area is decent. The only major thing they’re missing is a bunker. The chipping green is small but works. Putting greens are perfect and usually in great shape.

I grew up playing this course, and I still enjoy playing it. Great place to learn golf and to teach kids… If you hit the ball a long way you can drive just about every par 4 on the course. Course is usually in great condition, and well kept.
Unfortunately over time the price has gone up to the point where its worth playing a full size course for the same price so I don’t really play here anymore.

The game never gets backed up and the prices are very reasonable– especially during twilight hours…
