Dr Reuben is amazing. I went to see him for a very very very bad back pain. I couldn’t walk last week and the pain was excruciating. Only Days after that and I feel new! And by learning from him I’m also much more aware of my body. He is an amazing doc and person. Dr. Reuben Rocks! He took great care of me before, during and after my pregnancy and now I «sorely» miss my weekly visits to see him since he’s moved out of San Francisco. Team Tina & Dr Reuben always went the extra mile throughout my 2 years of care with them. I originally began my chiropractic care with a colleague of theirs who helped me heal my back when I threw it out in 2013. But once I met Dr. Reuben, I never wanted to go back to the other chiropractor. He is like an edgy Hip Cool Smart but Zen Mellow Doc, with tons of information and always thoroughly explaining every single step of my treatment with him. Super gentle and generous. Kind, warm and loving. All of the things I really needed as I went through these painful transitions in my healing journey.
When I became pregnant with my 3^rd child, I knew I had to continue receiving his care. I had awful back pain, mixed with awful connective tissue problems across my abdomen, not to mention sciatica, and the foot pain. I was a mess. The only way I was able to survive was to see Dr. Reuben 1−2x/week. Seeing Tina’s smile every week always gave me a boost.
I fully credit my daughter’s lightning fast HOMEBIRTH (1 hour of pushing) to the care my body received throughout my pregnancy. He helped me to keep my body aligned and fluid so that it could be in the optimal position and space to do the intense labor & work of childbirth.
Dr. Reuben & Tina also came for several Postpartum In Home visits to help me get back on my feet after my baby girl was born. He «adjusted» Anuhea (which was simply lightly touching her baby spine) No jerky twists or turns! She was so happy in his arms. I was in a lot of pain during this recovery period, and super emotional, but again Team Tina & Dr. Reuben helped saved the day by coming over to my house, bringing his table and once again showering me with their love.
I feel so blessed that I got to have them in my life during this very special and emotional time. They are 2 of the most genuine and authentically kind souls ever to walk this Earth. They just Give and Give and Give their hearts and always with a smile.

WOW! I am so very thankful for Dr. Reuben and Tina (his wife and admin). I am very new to Chiropractic care, so I came to Dr. Reuben knowing almost nothing about the process. With that being said, I can tell he is extremely knowledgable and skilled in his profession by how much information he has shared with me so far. He teaches me how to properly care for not only my body, but my mind and spirit as well. I look forward to my appointments because I know when I leave I will feel, breathe, and think better than when I arrived. It is absolutely mind-​blowing to me that after a simple alignment of my spine, I can feel the blood rush to parts of my body that I didn’t even know were lacking oxygen! Dr. Reuben makes me feel comfortable and cared for. He takes his time and is very precise with his adjustments.
I came into the office with what I thought were over stretched tendons around my knee. Dr. Reuben has since then discovered the real problem, and has begun the process of self-​healing through adjustments. I can already (after only a month and a half) feel a significant difference in the level of pain. In fact, I am almost completely pain free!
I have not only added the office visits to my weekly regimen but have also introduced myself to a plant based vegetarian lifestyle (encouraged by Dr. Reuben), which has in turn made me very aware of what I put in my body. This is an example of how Dr. Reuben has helped me change my own life by empowering me, rather than «fixing» me. He continues to share important tips with me after every visit.

I don’t think saying Dr. Reuben has changed my life is overstating it. Years of sitting at a desk, coupled with 20+ years playing rugby kind of wrecked my body. I would get terrible headaches at the base of my skull and no amount of ‘stretching it out’ or trying to crack my neck would relieve it. I had sore hips, sore back and general malaise. I figured I’d just have to deal with feeling 70% for ever. However, a chance encounter with Dr. Rueben led my wife and I to become patients. My headaches have gone, my spine is straightening (in the right way), my legs are slowly becoming the same length (a result of overcompensating for years of spinal compression), but it’s the overall feeling of well being after each treatment that’s the bonus. Dr. Reuben is incredibly knowledgeable, calm, and relentlessly positive. It’s impossible to walk out of his office (a little bit straighter, a little bit taller) in a bad mood, no matter how bad a day you’ve had.

I don’t write reviews that often, but when I come across an establishment that far surpasses my expectations, I feel I must let other know. I have been going to Chiropractors on and off for the past 25 years. Dr. Reuben is the ONLY one I have stuck with through the full course of my treatment plan. He is hands down the best chiropractor I have every tried. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about your back, spine, bones and muscles, he also has a good mix of east meets west medical training. Aside from that, Reuben and his wife Tina are great people and wonderful to work with. I’d recommend Dr Reuben and Community chiropractic to anyone who needs a dedicated chiropractor who is actually able to fix bone/​spine alignment issues.

I have been seeing Dr. Reuben at Choice Family Chiropractic for the last three years. During this time he has given me very skillful painless adjustments that have helped my hips, shoulders, neck, thoracic and lumbar spine significantly. I train in martial arts and yoga daily, so keeping my body in alignment and inflammation down is critical to my health and performance. Dr. Reuben also gives great mini lectures on nutrition, posture, metabolic processes and detoxification which help me to achieve better awareness of my daily habits and overall health.

Was referred to Dr. Reuben about a month ago. Came to him with severe ache in my hips and lower back, in addition to a bunch of other aches and pains I had chalked up to «aging» or «high heels.» Wrong! In less than four weeks, the carpal tunnel is nearly gone; I wake up with significantly less pain; haven’t had a migraine since; feeling so much better all ready! Dr. Reuben performed a thorough consultation complete with x-​rays. Had it all patiently and thoughtfully explained to me and have since been adjusted 3x a week. He’s very thorough, really a walking encyclopedia! Tina, his CA is great — she offers reasonable resources (pillows, supplements, etc.) and is easy to talk to about scheduling, payments, etc. The pricing is fair and the service is great. I would highly recommend Dr. Reuben to even my most discerning friends.

I started seeing Dr. Reuben in early January 2014. My main concern was being able to run pain-​free (lower back and hamstrings complaining). Dr. Reuben performed a thorough intake exams to establish baseline function (cool technology spotlights the exact areas you know you need to fix), sent me for x-​rays and started a treatment plan.
Fast forward to May 2014. I was on a ~8 mile hike which included some left-​over snow drifts. I was on my feet for 3 – 4 hours and never once sat down. I realized after the hike that I could NEVER have walked so long without stopping to rest my back. I was amazed at how effortless it was to hike.
Dr. Reuben’s treatment allowed me to run pain free, to hike for hours and now I kinda take this for granted. It is great to feel «normal»!

After pulling/​pinching my sciatic nerve at work I randomly found Choice Family Chiropractic and now I feel even better than I did before the injury! I have been going three times a week for adjustments for the past few months after being referred by a close friend who is a chiropractor herself. I have over 20 years of contact sports damage that he is working out. The progress is slow moving, however, he is the first doctor who has been able to make a sizable positive dent in that build up of skeletal mess.
Dr. Reuben does actual adjustments, not the «energy work» (which does absolutely nothing for me) that others do. His adjustments are real and provide actual relief. Because of him, I am able to sleep now without medication, which was a huge step, and that was only in the first week. I think it speaks to his laid back but precise clinical approach. He expects you to participate in the process and take care of your body outside the office, which is annoying at first but when you realize you’re waking up feeling better than you have in years, you admit he’s right and get with the program and your whole posture and outlook change.
Also, he takes insurance. No one in this city takes insurance — AND his rates are completely reasonable considering the work he does. I often feel like he enjoys what he does so much that he undercharges in comparison to the rest of the city. He’s definitely a practitioner I refer my friends to regularly.

Okay… this is my 6^th time being adjusted by Dr. Ruben. I know there are some great long term effects of this work, but let me share with you some of the instantaneous effects.
So I’m training for the Aids Life Cycle… which means that I bike for about 8 hours, 100 miles in a weird position through farmland and hay fields. Needless to say, twice I have awakened at 2am unable to breath, with a full-​tilt histamine attack that will ruin me the next day. Yesterday I popped a handful of Claritin hoping to breath — to no result. I woke up again this morning miserable, and decided to go see Dr. Ruben. After a 15 minute adjustment, MY NOSE IS COMPLETELY CLEAR. I can breath again! This is the second time in two weeks that his adjustment has completely cleared up my allergies.
In addition to all of that, I’m walking taller and I can feel that my digestion has improved.
I love Dr. Ruben’s style. He doesn’t try to pop everything in site all at once. He gives you just the amount of adjustment that your body can handle (this is pretty important if you don’t want to feel weird all day). He’s great to talk to, and every time I come in I learn something about they way my body and spine work. He also performs really great diagnostic tests that give you a great sense of your progress.
This guy is the best traditional chiropractor I’ve found in the city in the past 10 years.

Dr. Reuben is wonderful. Besides being a great chiropractor, he is a very knowledgable and caring person. I am very grateful that he has helped me to get back on a healthy path through his excellent adjustments and holistic advice, which goes beyond the chiropractic table. I highly recommend him.

I have gone to Reuben 3 times now for early-​stage migraines, and it’s resolved every time within an hour of the treatment. Each time there’s been a big release, and then before long, massive relief. After GETTING migraines from many other chiros adjustments, I could not be happier with the results of Reuben’s treatments. Even though his adjustments are big and powerful, they always feel just right, and exactly what my body is longing for. I wish that more people could benefit from this work.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Reuben Montemagni for almost a year now. I really can’t say enough good things about him and his practice. I am a Chiropractor from Brooklyn, NY. Just moved to the Bay Area a few years ago, and began the search for a good Chiropractor. I have been to about 6 so far. Needless to say, I am fussy about Chiropractors (and dentists!) so I have not written any reviews because I have not been happy with any I have been treated by until Dr. Reuben.
I have Lyme Disease (from the East Coast) and everything hurts, so I am not an «easy» patient!
Dr. Reuben’s sure hands went to work, and whew, I really feel better! I know it will take a while to get back my old happy body, but I finally feel I have found someone who can help me get there. He is a great Chiropractor, with healing hands.
