Pacific Tailor Shop

Just picked up pair of pumps, a pair of boots, and a leather jacket all of which were repaired at this shop. They all look really great even though these were complicated repairs. They glued a hole in the leather jacket and while still visible the jacket is now wearable. The boots especially look very very nice I could not be happier. They dyed the leather so they would practically new.

Melody is great! She is fast and efficient. She had lots of experience and knows her stuff. I have been to her three times and she has always done excellent work! Dropping off one more dress for her tomorrow!

Found my new San Diego tailor! Had a black tie wedding, and I ordered a full taffeta skirt online. Wrong size. Rush ordered a new one and then had mere days to get it hemmed. Called and she said to come in right away. She offered me choices and a totally decent price and promised to have it done by Thursday evening (it was Monday afternoon…).
The skirt had a really complex hem but was important for the shape and the way the skirt fell. She showed me how it was structured so I understood that the price reflected that. So friendly and helpful. And sure enough, was done by Thursday afternoon and looked perfect. :) Definitely taking my stuff here from now on.

Had an urgent request to get my pants tailored on the Monday after Fourth of July I needed them done before my flight at 1:30p. called her at 9a drop them off at 9:20a and they were done on time for a reasonable price and she did a great job

If I could give a negative 5 star review I would do so.
Don’t go here unless you have no intentions of needing your clothing, or if you enjoy your zippers being sewn backwards and the teeth being bent and unable to zip.
This women is not only an incompetent seamstress, but an awful business owner.
I brought in 2 bridesmaid dresses, 3 weeks before I needed them. I told her I would pick them up on a Tuesday, I called Monday and she had no idea who I was (this should have been a red flag), I went into her smelly outdated shop Tuesday evening and again she had no idea who I was and tried to give me someone else’s dress. She assured me that my dresses were almost done and she would call me tomorrow.
As I was leaving PB to attend 2 weddings and then move to Italy for 3 years, I was busy and picking them up in the afternoon was my only option, and should have given her plenty of time.
I called Wednesday at 5 and she told me she needed another hour, After enjoying oysters at fish shop (5 stars) I walked to her shop with 2 friends.
She was very surprised to see me there, as we had just spoken, 20 minutes prior. I had to once again remind her what dresses were mine.
Upon trying on the first gown it quickly became clear that she had not only not done the job incorrectly, but that she hadn’t even touched them before I called her at 5 pm.
I demanded to see the other dress, which she was trying to rush and do the alterations on… A micros silk gown costing $ 280, not a fabric you rush on. My friend had to physically go stand over Melody and demand to take the gown off the sewing machine, as I had asked Melody numerous times for her to stop sewing.
Needless to say the job was not completed. And I was not paying. She agreed to pay for the alternations to be completed by someone on the east coast. She also called me twice to confirm in the days following and apologize for her mistake.
When I sent her the bill, she called the seamstress in Vermont, who was able to save both dresses thank goodness! Upon being told was a disgraceful job Melody had done and what the cost of the alterations was, Melody agreed AGAIN to pay for the alterations.
As you’ll see in the emails attached, Melody now feels that she doesn’t need to hold up her end of the deal or pay for her mistakes.
Melody I demand you call me back as you’ve promised to do. also in the emails attached. I am not satisfied and will continue to pursue justice.

Fast and friendly plus quality work

Dropped off a pair of jeans to be hemmed one week ago, for pick up today, after 2. Pre paid for them. I have time to write this review because I have been standing here for 30 minutes watching her sew my pants. She hadn’t even started on them when I walked in. I asked why they were not completed & she said it was my fault because I didn’t call? So unprofessional.

I second Casey’s review in regards to how it seems like the owner doesn’t care about any orders that are less than $ 100 and Carly in regards to how it seems like she’s disorganized and doesn’t do a good job. I had 3 serious issues with this place: cost, time to complete the work and the quality of work. My boyfriend and I ended up bringing in one skirt, three maxi dresses and a pair of slacks. First off, I believe that $ 20 per dress or skirt is very expensive — especially for just a simple hem job. Even though I was hesitant about the price, I was set on coming here because of the positive reviews. My second issue was how long it would take to get the work done. All of the items we dropped off just needed a slight hem and the owner said that it would take 2 weeks. I was bewildered that it would take two weeks but she explained that it’s wedding season so it’ll take longer than usual so I said ok. I had a gut feeling that it wasn’t done within the two weeks so we waited out another week. We came back to the shop exactly three weeks after dropping off the items and she said that only the pants, the skirt and one dress were done. She said she was finishing up another dress right then. She then told me that she couldn’t do the last dress because the chalk had faded from the light colored chiffon material on the dress so she would have to re-​measure it. I was beyond irritated. She had wasted our time because our items weren’t done in a timely manner and then for her to tell me in person that she couldn’t do the dress made me even more upset. She had my phone number so why couldn’t she call me right away to tell me that the dress couldn’t be hemmed because the chalk had rubbed off/​was hard to see so that I could come in sooner to get it re-​measured? I ended up telling her forget it and that I would just deal with the length. She said the dress she was working on would take her only another 5 minutes. So to kill time, my boyfriend and I walked around Tuesday Morning for about 15 – 20 minutes. When we got back to the shop, she still wasn’t done. By the time we left the shop, I was in a foul mood. When I got home to try on everything, one of my maxi dresses was hemmed to basically be a hi lo! She had cut off too much in the front so my foot was showing and it’s like she didn’t cut anything off of the back because a good few inches were still dragging on the floor. I will never come back here again and I suggest that other people look into getting their items tailored elsewhere. Our money was definitely not well spent money.

Very poor service. The lady said the job would be done Monday 7 days after I dropped it off. I came back on Tuesday 8 days later needing the item for that afternoon. She had not complete anything we talked about and told me“you live around here right? Just come back later”. Complete wast of time. I found another tailor who charged half the price and said it would be ready the next day. Needless to say I won’t be coming back to pacific tailor.

I’ve been here many times and there were hiccups here and there, but I assure you Melody will make things right until things are done correctly. She genuinely cares about what she does and personally sees to make sure the job is done to your satisfaction. Her wide smile is always welcome as well.
It’s nice to be a voice for small businesses around town and let the public know that we don’t have to do businesses only with big companies to get your money’s worth. Money is money, but the extra service, smile, genuine care cannot be bought with money. I challenge you to bring your alteration here, you’ll be back soon.

I called and ask if they can just do measurement for me since my cuz is gonna held his wedding in Manila. Melody said yes. I went to her shop after 5 mins. She took my measurements in 2 mins. And when I ask how much, she no charge. Omg!!! She is super nice. I’m glad I found her on Unilocal.I will definitely come back for my wedding gown one day. Thanks so much Melody :))

I have come to her now with numerous bridesmaid dresses and my own wedding gown (lace all throughout, with very delicate beadings) I’ve sent my sister and friends to her and everyone of them has been pleased with her work. She is joy to work with. She is precise, kind, considerate, talented and passionate in what she does. She makes sure that her work leaves you feeling happy. I live in Mission Valley and that commute is well worth it. If you’ve never been, I encourage you to give her a try, she’s FABULOUS!

Took in a pair of pants to be hemmed. This is obviously the most basic fundamental tailoring act one can perform. However, I was told that it would take a week to perform this task. Fair enough, I thought, I’m sure they’re busy.
Before coming in to pick up my pants today, I called first to make sure they were ready. I even explained that I was very busy and didn’t have time to come by if the pants weren’t ready to go. I was assured that they were ready for pick up.
You can imagine my surprise when I showed up and the tailor gave me a confused look when I handed her my receipt. SHE HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT MY ORDER, even though I’d called first and given my name. She wasn’t even apologetic about it. And also, it really shouldn’t take a whole week to hem one pair of pants.

I’ve come here twice, once for getting wedding pants hemmed, another time for getting pockets in my favorite shorts basically replaced (they were ripped everywhere). Both times the workmanship has been great and the price reasonable. Very friendly service and the job is done when she says it will be and for the price that was quoted. I’m not not sure how this place has any negative reviews… it is my go-​to tailor shop. Added bonus is the super-​convenient location.

I have used a few different tailors in PB and have never been fully satisfied. The tailors I have used have either done shoddy work or were not reliable. Melody; on the other hand, is the exact opposite. I only took her a few articles of clothing to be tailored to make sure her Unilocal reviewers were telling the truth… they most certainly were.
I love the feel of tailored dress shirts and a very tailored suit. Melody made one of my suits and two of my shirts look like a million dollars. I would recommend that everyone use her as your «go to» for a tailor. I will be taking the rest of my clothing to her to be fitted.

Melody is a miracle worker! You can really see the pride and precision in her work, and her attention to detail. I highly recommend her, especially for difficult, delicate dresses!
I’ve brought 4 different dresses into her — from chiffon to silk and between, and she’s a master with all fabrics — even the super delicate ones that look like they will disintegrate upon the smallest wind, or melt upon the slightest hint of humidity. (Ladies, you know exactly what I’m talking about.)
From ill-​fitting dresses that have run the gamut from «sack-​like» to slutty, she’s managed to transform them all into beautiful gowns worthy of wearing IN (and to) several weddings (and even in a manner that respectfully accentuates the girls without offending conservative grandma).
Go to Pacific Tailor Shop for your alteration needs — the end product will leave you feeling like the belle of the ball (or if you’re like me, at least trick others in believing you are a well-​mannered, respectable lady)!

I came in here with a dress that I bought on Ideeli. Of course the dress wasn’t what I expected it to be, it needed to be tweaked in the bust area. At first she said it might not need any altering if I adjusted the straps, so we tried that and it made it a little better, but just wasn’t what I wanted it to be. She told me since the dress was made a certain way she would have to take it apart and reconstruct the upper area. I said ok, but I was a little apprehensive of what it would cost to do so. I pondered the thought and said «sure, whatever needs to be done to make it look right.»
When I came back the following week, I tried it on and it was beautiful. Her attention to detail is what’s good. I was satisfied and I will be returning to get another dress I have to be altered.

I’m new to the area and had a couple of dresses that needed some alterations. I went here on a whim and it ended up being an excellent experience. All of my garments were ready on time, fit perfectly and looked well-​done. Since, I’ve taken more stuff (skirts, blouses) and I always walk away happy!
I’m not sure how the pricing compares to other tailors but the quality of work is probably worth it.

Melody is an absolute miracle worker with a needle and thread. She can seriously repair anything… and she remembers me every time!
I am always 110% pleased with everything she does.
My boyfriend is a Diesel maniac and every once in a while something will get a snag or a tear, etc and she is the only person he trusts to fix his beloved items.
Not much else to say… shes just effin amazing!
