Had my yearly visit to HOF. All the memorabilia is gone in preparation for the new museum. Instead there is a Budweiser mural. The food is better than it was in the past. But the beer line up pretty much sucks. You have to walk about to the stadium for a better choice of beers. Service can be slow. It is still a decent place to check in and catch the game, but overall I feel like it has lost its way. Hopefully they rebrand this spot, it does seem like the spaces in Petco are evolving some. I would drop in once in a while, but I would also try some other places as well. There is really noting overly terrible or overly great here. It is entirely average.

Last night salmon was darn good here. I wish they had a bigger bear selection thou. Real good atmosphere for sure. Will definitely come back.

Meant to post this a while ago but here it is! Very friendly staff. Robert and Chris always remember our names and make u feel right at home. This is my go to spot every time I am at a game! I love that you can sit outside and enjoy the game with an amazing view. You have great servers and your cups are always full. Al is the best! She has a bubbly personality and gets along with everyone. Hands down, this place is why I keep coming back to games all season long :)

Went to the game as part of a wedding-festivity weekend, and ended up here as we wanted to watch the LA King game.(Go kings!) Great atmosphere but I was quite disappointed by the service(or lack there of) from the red headed gentleman with Drew Carey glasses. While trying to grab a beer while watching the game, the gentleman very loudly called me out by saying ‘yeah man. I see you, I’ll get to you eventually ok?!’ in a condescending tone. Quite embarrassing actually, and not at all a way you’d want to treat a repeat, paying member. I opted to remove myself from that bar and head elsewhere, and will never return. My advice is to do the same, go where you’re appreciated and not where a stressed unhappy bartender takes his frustration out on you. Sorry it’s so busy mate, most of us would consider that a positive! If he is there, stay away. I feel worth for him actually. Sad someone is so unhappy and let’s such little things get to him. Cheer up bro!

OMG this has been my most recent discovery at Petco park and I can’t believe it took me this long to find out. AWESOME seats, AWESOME drinks, and AWESOME view… all around awesomeness! Specially if your original seats are crappy… then just come to this spot! :)

Absolutely love this place, best spot to watch the game by far, the view is incredible over looking the whole field while enjoying some food and drinks, yeah the food and alcohol is pricey but what do you expect every other stadium is pricey. Best part is buy the cheapest ticket into the stadium, and walk up to the Hall of Fame Bar & Grill and watch the game from the best seats. We usually get our hand stamped to watch the game from the 4th inning on which is considered the 2nd half of the game, so we watch the 1st through 3rd innings on the tv’s enjoying beer at the bar. After sitting here I wouldn’t want to watch the game from anywhere else

The only thing this place has going for it is the experience… and that just might be enough to ignore everything this place lacks. To capture the view and experience, you have two options. Watch during the 1st and 3rd innings. Or watch 4th to close. So get there early and let the park tenant know which one you prefer. You will have to wait in line once bottom of the 3rd starts. As far as food, I actually expected more since this was an indoor establishment. But the food here is still coming from stands and not an actual kitchen. I opted for the nachos and multiple beers. Is it expensive? Hell to the yes it is! But its a ballpark, you should come here expecting to pay triple the amount of worth. Beer selection is limited but they do carry some local brews on tap. Tip: Buy a cheap seat and come here early for a seat on the balcony.

Only 7 reviews until now?! I cannot believe this especially since this place has been here for at least 5 years! As the recently crowned«DUKE» of the Padres Hall of Fame Bar and Grill I feel it is my personal responsibility to let you know how great this place is. We all know that going to a baseball game typically isn’t cheap but the great people at Petco park have found a few little loopholes to make it much more tolerable. Enter the Western Metal Supply Building… Inside the Western Metal Supply building is where you will find the Padres Hall of Fame Bar and Grill. Listen closely, THISPLACEISOPENTOEVERYONE! Buy the cheapest ticket that you can find from any website that sells them or from the scalper on the street and walk your baseball loving butt up those stairs. You don’t need a fancy box seat ticket or special credentials to enjoy the best view in the house, in fact all you need is admission through the front gate. Once you are in you will enjoy some of the best food that Petco Park has to offer, memorable staff and short bathroom lines. Watching the game from the balcony really is the best part of the whole experience but it does take a bit of effort to earn your seat in this coveted location. Arrive early if you would like to watch batting practice and the first three innings or you can wait in line to enjoy the fourth through ninth inning. The wait really is not bad and there is easy access to a fully stocked bar and several food options. Try the nachos! They do not hold back from topping these cheesy bad boys and offer everything from grilled chicken to beef brisket to make your masterpiece complete. Believe me, these gourmet nachos will turn heads and people will ask where you got them from. It really is well worth the few extra dollars to splurge on these nachos rather than the slop they will serve you from the fast paced concession stands elsewhere in the park. One last thing that I truly love about the Hall of Fame Bar is that it is always staffed with the same people. Watching games from other parts of the park it seems you will never see the same food or beer vendors from one game to the next. At the Hall of Fame Bar you can rest assured that the same staff will always be there to greet and serve you night after night. It’s all about the little things.

I’ll tell you what: if you’re coming to the Padres game and you’re not hanging at the Hall of Fame Bar & Grill, you’re not experiencing the best parts of Petco Park. Fantastic views of the stadium, and you can access this gem with a simple $ 7 Park in the Park ticket. Toyota Terrace seats will run you $ 40+, and I prefer this view to any I’ve had in the venue. Plus, the staff here are fantastic and will make your experience brighter than three suns and couple of moons. Go Giants!

So we decided not to sit on our seats and to hit up the bar instead. Took the elevators to the 5th level and in we walk into the restaurant. There are 2 seatings: 1st-3rd innings and 4th-close. Get there early to place your name on the list and line up against the wall to get priority seats on the ledge. We opted for the second seating and decided to munch on supreme nachos and a beer. These items totaled to about $ 20 — highway robbery! Great place to watch the game without the claustrophobic crowds down below. Full service with someone bringing food and drinks to you. Only thing is that you have the ledge in front of you blocking some of your view. However, not a big deal if you’re not really paying attention to the game :)

Superb place to watch the game, and the food, while basic, is great. There’s a sausage bar with loads of fixins’, wings, a nachos bar, a Caesar salad«bar»… The Caesar is big– get it with chicken and some added veggies and it’ll feed two. Ditto for the nachos. The folks behind the buffets are always sweet and generous with the portions. And a big meal here during the game is a lot cheaper than getting a hotdog and a beer anywhere else in the stadium. I’ve been here a few times– seems like the clientele is regular folks in jeans and Pads shirts. The millionaires are probably down in the dugout or home plate seats…

I agree with Richard B, best place to watch the game. And it’s only $ 5 admission to get in the park.

This is seriously the only way I will watch a Padre game at Petco Park. A nosebleed ticket for $ 5 will get you inside the ballpark. Grab an elevator(manned by very rude and portly old women) up to the Hall of Fame Bar & Grill. This bar is awesome! Fully stocked with all of the ingredients required to make a mean cocktail, along with five or six food stations. Apryl and I got a couple vodka cranberries and a huge bowl of nachos. The drinks, while served in a plastic cup, were strong and topped of with a lime wedge. Our nacho plate was bigger than my head, covered in cheese, beef, jalapenos, sour cream and more cheese. I think that I felt my heart stop a few times while I shoved every single soggy bit into my mouth! Delicious. We grabbed some seats along the railing, directly over the left field. If I so desired, I could have had the Diamondback’s left fielder covered in nacho cheese from his hat to his waist. That’s what I call a decent seat! Definitely a great spot to catch some mediocre baseball. Try the nachos, drink a cocktail and boo the visitors.

Let’s see Overpriced drinks? Check Lots of 32k millionaires? Check Cougars wearing far less clothing than permitted by law? Check San Diego«gangsters» ready to jump you for wearing a Dodgers jersey? Check Pretty girls waiting to be picked up? Check So why the 4 stars despite having some potentially negative things? Well, it is in the outfield, it is nicely decorated, and while the drinks are overpriced it is situated perfectly in left field. Just make sure you have enough bribe, I mean tip money to make it out on the balcony. $ 8.50 for a Guiness is not surprising given the setting, $ 12.50 for a Vodka tonic? RIDICULOUS. I feel bad for my friend who got taken for a ride =P I would go back here, I didn’t taste the food, but the whole ambiance was worth the overpriced booze. Plus lots of eye candy to look at, including one overzealous Dodgers fan girl who had her boobs practically falling out and undressing yours truly with her eyes. Too the guy with her caught on and didn’t give me a chance to get close. Oh yeah, and the SD gangsters? Well, they said I was welcome to come anytime, nevermind the fact that I have lived in SD for almost 4 years and we left on good enough terms I guess… SMOKEY!

This could be quite possibly the most expensive cover charge you’ll ever pay to get into a sports bar where high heels tower, mini-skirts run short, cleavage smacks you right in the face if you don’t watch where you’re walking and the cougars are on the prowl. Oh, your diet is lacking a little protein? Not to worry, this place is full of meat heads. Not to leave anyone out, so I’ll give honorable mentions to the preppies, the spoiled-brat-stuck-up-snobs, the mom’s with their infant child and the two year old rug rat that I saw running around(probably trying to get as far away from the cougars as possible) — And, of course, to anyone else I may have left out and/or forgotten … So you get the picture right? Did I mention it was located at a Major League Baseball park? Within PETCO Park? In Left Field? On the fourth floor of the Western Metal Supply Co. Building? Wow, I’m not quite sure how that may have escaped my mind … Maybe it was the raping in the wallet I took for requesting an alcoholic beverage from one of their extremely busy bartenders. Or maybe it was that I thought I was standing in any old sports bar, watching an incredible baseball game on a television screen, when in fact I was only about 350 feet from home plate. There is a porch on the other side of the floor to ceiling glass that impedes my open view of the park. Now if only I had learned patience to stand in line for who the hell knows how long to kick it out there. Just a tip, if you want to enjoy the whole game out on the porch — be prepared to tip the security and line man very well, otherwise, wear a colostomy bag so you don’t have to bother stepping off the porch. Now you’re probably wondering why I bothered to even give it four stars after all that … Well, the facts are hard to dismiss — It’s hip, it’s cool, it’s chic… It’s in PETCO Park — how cool is that? I’m taking one star off because there are only so many drunk people a sober person can tolerate at once, and this spot well exceeds those limits(believe me, its worse than a club). Speaking of which, The Padres Hall of Fame Bar & Grill has some great potential … I love baseball, but I do love music even more, and setting up a Dj in this joint would make it even better! Hopefully they’ll pick up on that idea and do something with it(If someone from PETCO Park is reading this — PICKME! PICKME!). All-in-all — The HOFB&G is a nice spot situated within an already fine establishment that is PETCO Park. They serve more than just beer & Mike’s Hard Lemonade’s and if you ever feel like playing the field at PETCO Park — here’s where you’d do it =)
