Palmer Skincare offers a wide variety of treatments at a very reasonable price with an exceptional attention to detail. They specialize in Male Waxing /​Brazilian and personal trimming/​grooming. Tho specializing in male waxing they also offer female waxing/​Brazilian by either a male or female esthetician. They also offer a wide variety of Facials, physician approved Chemical peels and Sunless airbrush tanning. Palmer Skincare also makes available Microdermabrasion, Soli-​Tone Light treatment, LHE (light and Heat energy Therapy as well as Massage and Holistic treatments. Private office is located right in the heart of Hillcrest in the Union Bank building at the corner of 5th and University offering validated parking upon request.

History

Established in 2007.

Having an interest in this industry, Timothy Palmer moved to San Diego and became a licensed esthetician and opened what is now Palmer Skin specializing in waxing and basic facials/​skincare. After becoming a licensed esthetician, Timothy continued his education to include becoming a licensed Massage therapist and also became certified as a Holistic health practitioner. His business and loyal clients have moved from several locations with him over the years and he has now discovered his niche clientele and ideal central location now enabling Palmer skin to reach out and service a diverse wide range of people.

Timothy now also leases space to Mandy Freye who also offers Skincare treatments and female waxing and Dr. to offer Botox and soon injectables to his clients. Ok, so this was my first time getting waxed EVER! Lol, at first I had some nerves but soon as I walked in the vibe from the staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed instantly. Tim is awesome. He got me in and out of there and I was very happy with the results and so was my wife. Most definitely going to be back.

I don’t think a picture for this review would be very appropriate so I will skip it. I got my first man Brazilian done with Tim. He was very professional and did not make the first experience awkward.
Although I am not sure I will continue getting waxed because I was just trying it for the first time. If I do, I will be returning to Palmer skin care.

I highly recommend Palmer Skin Care. I made a an appointment online, walked in and was out in 40 mins. Pricing was minimal for the service. The office is clean and professional and they validate parking too! (Make sure you park at the Union Bank building on fifth ave) I will definitely return.

The best waxing place for me in sol cal. I had a wax done before and it was ok and pricey. So looking for one in this area was not hard until I found Palmer’s. Tim made everything comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxing. The process was done in no time and I do have a jungle down under if you know what I mean. I was impressed with the excellent customer service and the ease of checking in. The online appointment is great and very convenient. You must follow instructions very carefully after your treatment to care for the area being waxed. Grooming should always be part of one’s lifestyle to preserve our bodies. I will be returning and referring customers to Palmer’s for treatments.

Just had my very first male brazilian. I was extremely nervous about the pain but Tim Palmer definitely made me comfortable from start to finish. Great guy to have a conversation with and before I knew it I was waxed and clean and ready to go. It took no more than 30 minutes for everything and he didn’t miss a hair! Will definitely be coming back!

First time here for a chemical peel, Tim was nice but the peel didn’t do much too my face. I had a couple of dry spots that peeled and the rest of my face just dryed up but never peeled. Tim said to give it time, so I did but nothing happened. I had to use coconut oil 24⁄7 to get rid of the dryness. He didn’t even offer to redo it, I will not be going there again.

Tim Palmer of Palmer Skin is very knowledgeable in advanced skin treatments and I highly recommend his services. Tim takes the time to listen to your skin concerns and he tailors the treatments accordingly. I went to the clinic for microderm and a light glycolic peel, which I intend to continue every month. I saw results after just one visit — smaller pores and a more refined skin texture. Tim’s services are reasonably priced as well!
Also, parking is validated! Yea!

Ok, here is the deal…
I have always had facials done with dermatologists with no problems. But a friend of mine told me about this place, said that she knew the guy and there was a GROUPON deal and I should give it a try. Why not?
I had the first facial done few months ago and decided to wait until the weather cooled down to do the next, since they told me they would still accept my GROUPON after the expiration date. Great!
I made an appointment online for next day and they sent me the confirmation email. I canceled my plans for next day since I finally had the time and was able to schedule an appointment for my facial. One hour later I got a denied appointment email from Palmer Skin Care. I was surprised since I had already got the confirmation email. So I called and they still denied the appointment saying they only had opening for next week, even though they had 5 openings for next day online.
I emailed «Tim» and asked why they were canceling my app. His answer was: because I already have 3 GROUPON customers for this week and want to save time for my «regular» customers. I sent an email back and said: Thats a shame, since I was planning on possibly becoming a «regular». His incredibly «NICE» response was: FEEL FREE TO CALL GROUPON AND GET A REFUND.
Now… WOW!!! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
I answered the email and said: Sure I will! Thanks for the «great» customer service.
His response: SURE THING!
That was beyond rude! The least he could have done was to apologize and try to make a damn appointment that would not even last him 3 min to put the dumb product on my face.
OH! Did I mention that I just went online and he still have 3 openings for TODAY? (YES, THE WHOLE INCIDENT HAPPENED YESTERDAY)
PS: I am not just saying this because I am extremely disappointed with his behavior, but I am not going to lie, I did NOT notice ANY change on my skin. Still, I was willing to try other treatments and maybe find something more suitable. I was willing to spend more $$$. That was not the issue.
Now, I am trying to contact GROUPON and get some refund, which I doubt they will do it since my deal is already expired. But I rather to lose money than go back to that place! NEVER AGAIN!!!
My advice… SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, PREFERABLY A DERMATOLOGIST! YES, IT MIGHT COST YOU MORE, BUT IT WILL BE WORTHWHILE, TRUST ME!

Today was my 2nd time Visiting Palmer Skin Care and 1st time at new location. Service and care are just as fantastic and the location is extremely convenient. In one of the busiest neighborhoods in the city, you have the opportunity for validated garage parking. Why go anywhere else?

I chose this place frankly because it was the cheapest I could find for… a man wax. I don’t know what it’s like at the more expensive places, but I can’t imagine a single thing I would change. Timothy was professional, friendly, and did a great job.
This was my first time and I was extremely nervous but it wasn’t nearly as painful as I was expecting, and I felt perfectly comfortable with my pants down the entire time.
I can’t say enough good things about this place and I’ll definitely be back in 4 – 6 weeks.

It’s a no-​brainer to give this place five stars.
Just finished a back & shoulder wax with Tim Palmer. He was friendly and extraordinarily efficient! The whole procedure took no more than 15 minutes from start to finish. Tim was professional yet personable during the treatment, and the whole thing was relatively painless. And he did a very thorough job.
The procedure was wonderfully priced with my Groupon, but even at regular prices is still very reasonable. Bonus points for a really good web site with online scheduling capabilities.
The facility is nicely appointed and sparkling clean. Parking is validated (a godsend in Hillcrest)!
I would come back here in a heartbeat.
