Used him a few years ago. Full of himself. Unhelpful. Rude. Would never, ever go back. Ever.

Does not see the obligations through to completion, abandons you, first feeds you endless excuses for not getting back (usually poor health is cited) and eventually ceases all communication. Truly pathetic.

don’t be fooled by the professional looking website. his performance as an attorney is horrific. claims to have dealt with consumer debt cases but has gotten us into further problems. STAY AWAY!!!

I was trying to help out a family friend with their credit card settlement case when things went bad and he got sued for the amount. He was going through some tough times due to the economy. He needed a little time to get back on his feet. In the mean time I was researching lawyers who might be sensitive enough to care about such cases. I came across Paul E. Smith and his well designed website with touching testimonials about past clients. They all seemed so grateful for everything that he has done for them. So I recommended him to call for a free consultation. I dont know what was said during the conversation but Paul must have sold his service because the next day he was signed up for his services. Fast forward to the court date and present. Paul E. Smith lost the case and the judge awards the plantiff full judgement.
The result is understandable and expected because not ALL cases can result in your favor. BUT what is expected from your lawyer is some sensitivity to the matter and maybe some assistance rather than a lame excuse about how he got the wrong judge or what not. After all was done he said we will work out some kind of settlement but til this day my poor friend can’t reach him. I mean come one based on your profile, Mister Navy Vet, be a man about your cases. I understand you got to be thick faced to be a lawyer but admit you lost a case you were so confident about and finish the case off. Or is this considered finished? Because of this «INSENSITIVE, LAME EXCUSE USING LAWYER» I have a burden of even bringing up his name for a referral. Everytime I see my friend I feel so bad and I wish this Paul E. Smith guy would at least give him some closure.
As of right now I don’t believe anything on his website and I wouldn’t be surprised if the testimonials are all paid for or made up. I am really hoping this guy proves me wrong and he does have a heart!
