Specializing in Dental Extractions, Wisdom Teeth Removal & Dental Implants. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Pavel treats a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.

Our practice was established in 1927 and is the oldest and largest in San Diego County with two convenient locations. We are motivated to achieve the highest standards of quality care. The surgical staff at the Center for Oral & Facial Surgery are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who have completed specialized training as OMS Assistants and are CPR certified. We also have trained registered nurses (RN’s) who assist in the administration of IV Sedation and General Anesthesia. Our administrative personnel are well-versed in health and insurance policies.

Business Owner
Frank L. Pavel, D.M.D. attended Gonzaga University and then completed Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed one year of post-doctoral studies in anesthesiology at Ohio State University Medical Center and trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles County Medical Center. He has been in the private practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery in San Diego since 1984 and has placed more than 9,000 dental implants. Dr. Frank L. Pavel is a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the past president of the San Diego Surgical Society.
