Clean. Organized. Easy: they can call my vet & get the updates they need so I don’t have to go through the hassle. Always professional, friendly and knowledgeable. My little dude can be a real turkey sometimes, but the ladies who work there always seem to love him! He always gets sent home with a stellar report card. I mean– how adorable is that?! Plus, when he won’t eat, they have a chef who can add anything you want to your doggies food if they get the mommy blues. Seriously. He love chicken & bananas, and viola! As an overprotective and very picky mommy, being able to check in on him via webcam while he was frolicking with his homies was pretty rad. Not to mention there was always a staff member in the play area making sure these mutts were minding their manners. Finishing touches like these not only set them apart from their competitors, it sets the bar high.

I went to the GP in Hillcrest for the first time last Sunday to get my labradoodle groomed. I am thrilled with the job Vaughn did. I will definitely be going back and telling everyone I know to go there. And, Yes, they are open on Sundays for grooming. I should add that this picture of her at the beach is not the grooming I received at GP. This picture was taken of her with her summer short clip.

I love the golden paw. My puppy goes to daycare every day and she loves it here. The staff are so helpful and fun — the dogs love them! They all take the time to know the dogs and their owners and it’s such a friendly, happy environment to be a part of. Sometimes when I pickup my pup I feel like she’s pissed that I took her away from her friend’s at Golden Paw!

I adopted a wolfdog that was kept in The Golden Paw and I could tell they treated him with so much love. They were sad to say goodbye to him, which proved to me that they truly cared for my beautiful Arctic. The care for the well being of the animals.

I have two small dogs (a cocker mix a miniature poodle mix) who used to be well behaved. Months of my roommate letting them get into shenanigans and the stress of moving has undone their good habits, and I’ve been just about at my wits end. A consult and one training session with Christy and I finally have hope I could get my sweet, quiet, potty trained girls back. Christy clearly knows what she’s doing and strikes a good balance between humor and getting her points across. I look forward to learning from her and her help in getting my girls back on track!

I boarded my dog, Alejandro for the first time and I was so happy by the service provided at The Golden Paw. J Dog was happy and playful when he got home and I could tell he had been treated so well. It’s nice to know I have a place to take my baby when family isn’t available. :)

My dog, Georgie, LOVES The Golden Paw! He is 13 months old and adores the entire staff. He has a very special love for his trainer Christy. We’re now enjoying our 3^rd class with her; he has learned so much as a puppy! Her education has obviously equipped her with extensive knowledge of animal behaviorism — it is very apparent in her top-​notch training practices. She’s awesome!
Georgie has also had some 2 – 3 night stays, day-​play and grooming sessions which have all been very positive experiences. I know Georgie loves the folks and the facilities at the Golden Paw! The tail is a dead giveaway! It wags like crazy each time we pull into their driveway!!!
You and your dog will be so pleased to experience the good work that they do! They LOVE the dogs that are left in their care and I highly recommend that you give them a try!

Use golden paw when I watch my parents pup n they are great. Staff super n give me daily progress reports. Going there has also helped Sherman become more social with other dogs.

I boarded my dog here a couple times while out of town and was super happy! The staff here is super nice too. The best part is they have a webcam so I can totally creep on my dog all day long. Plus I can watch him from different angles so I can really get a full idea of what he does there all day: sleeps on a little bed in the play area while other dogs run around him. Very reassuring to know he is super lazy everywhere and not just at home.
But seriously, my dog was fine after boarding here nearly a week and that’s all I care about. The webcam and report card are cute and all, but honestly having a reliable place to drop off my dog when I have to leave to town is by far the most important feature, and Golden Paw totally delivers.

We are VERY pleased with Becky as our dog groomer. She is SO kind and gentle with Molly our 2 year old cockapoo. Molly is in great hands with Becky. VERY pleased with her grooming skills and would HIGHLY recommend Becky. Thank you Becky!

When I get Gina’s leash in the morning, she knows she is headed for the Golden Paw… and she is so excited. She loves going here for day care. The staff is great-​they know each dog by name and are ready to welcome the dog upon arrival… and take them into the big play room where the frolicking, playing, chasing all take place. The dogs are carefully monitored each moment. and you can watch from home or work on the live cam. Staff know who plays with who and who causes the most fun. Your dog will have a great time here and both of you can go home for a relaxing evening… your dog will be happy and exhausted from a great day. I have come to know each person who works there… superb… couldn’t ask for better folks to care for my Gina.

I highly recommend Christy as a dog trainer. Golden Paws 5-​Week dog training session is ESSENTIAL for having a grounded, confident, safe, dog who will pay attention to you.
Definitely give her a shot.

I just picked my dog up from The Golden Paw and had such a great experience that I had to write a review and recognize their AWESOME staff.
My dog is a naturally anxious puppy and has a severe case of separation anxiety on top of that. I had never boarded him before, usually relying on my family to take watch after Bandit while I am away. With my recent move to San Diego and no family to turn to, I decided to give The Golden Paw a try and I do not regret it! Throughout the trip I was able to email the staff and receive very detailed daily updates on Bandit’s progress with eating (he boycotts food while I am away) and how he is doing with his playtime– which I can also check up on using their webcam which is a huge perk when missing your puppy!
One staff member– Amber– especially, went above and beyond to answer any and all questions that I had regarding how Bandit is. When I went to pick him up this morning, he had just been groomed (he gets nervous with that too) and I was told that he did receive a small scratch from pawing at the cage– which sometimes groomers just fail to tell you! Jessica, the Care Manager, was so sweet and understanding of my concerns and assured me that some dogs just get more nervous than others with boarding and grooming.
Overall, I cannot say enough good things about my experience with The Golden Paw — both the daycare and the boarding. The staff seems to truly care about the comfort and well-​being of your pet and understand the concerns that pet owners may have while away. Definitely will be returning if I ever need to board my dog again!

We live in NorCal. We brought our beloved Pom here while we visited SanDiego for a vacation getaway twice in 2013 and once in 2014.
The hotel on the beach we stayed at did not allow pets, so we brought her along for the trip after hearing about Golden Paw.
We dropped in every other day to take her to the beach.
She loved the attention at Golden Paw and because she is small they kept her with the smaller sized crew of dogs. Only to find out she was sassy enough for the big crew too.
Golden Paw was very conscientious and treated our little gal with kid gloves.
We also loved to watch her in the live TV screen frolicking with the other dogs.
After all the sand and beach time over a week, we also had Golden Paw groom her before we left. She looked great, smelled wonderful and was happy and eager to show off her shiny fluffy coat.
Because our pets are our family, we always have the utmost concern for their welfare. We felt completely at peace knowing that our Pom was in great hands with the folks at The Golden Paw.

The Golden Paw is a fantastic place to have your dogs stay overnight.
Over the Easter holiday we needed a place for our pup to stay and after looking for help on Unilocal we found the Golden Paw. We were a bit worried at first because our dog, a mutt terrier, can be a bit lippy with other dogs and we thought he would not do well there, but to our happy surprise the staff informed us he did great! They will do an evaluation on your dog to let you know how they did. They also have great packages which can even allow you to monitor your pup in their rooms and in the common play area.
The staff at Golden Paw is great. They were very helpful and accommodating.
What we were most happy about was how great our dog was after he left their care. He seemed really happy, relaxed and he was pretty beat– letting us know he got great care and a good amount of play time.
The next time we need to go away we will definitely be bringing him back to the Golden Paw.

They kindly let my ultra senior citizen doggie stay there — he is 16 years old.
We really appreciate that when many other kennels will not.
And, our Azuki is always in good shape when we pick him up after our vacations away :)

The Golden Paw is truly a great place to take your dog. The whole team is exceptional. You can sense their passion for taking care of your dog and make you feel comfortable. The facility is also disinfected every day, is very organized, and smells fresh!
I initially came to the Golden Paw for dog training, as I had recently adopted a puppy. The training program is fantastic, and it was great seeing the positive transformation of my dog’s behavior and skill. Detailed notes are taken at each session, which really helps with seeing your dog’s progress and focusing on the areas that still need improvement.
After having such a positive experience with the training, I have also started having my dog groomed. He came out with the cutest hair cut and it was apparent that he was attended to and cared for while I was away.
I have not left my puppy for day care or boarding just yet, however, I wouldn’t hesitate to if I ever have the need.

I have been a customer of the Golden Paw for years and will continue to be for many years to come. Around the house we call it Doggie Disneyland. My dog knows the exit from the freeway and he starts crying and getting super excited. This is just a testament for how wonderful this facility it is.
We go to the Golden Paw for day play. My dog absolutely loves this place. The facility is really well maintained and kept incredibly neat and tidy. The staff takes incredibly good care of my dog. He comes back happy and all played out every single time. And whenever we get a bath he comes back clean, dry and ready to go by pick up time.
I would recommend this facility to any pet owner. Your pet is in safe and capable hands that will not let you down. Happy pet, every time.

My mom took her Yorkie, Molly, here (and I went with her) when we went out of town for the weekend. She apparently had researched places on Unilocal to board her dog for the first time. You’ll see here that it has very high ratings, and for great reasons.
The staff is extremely friendly and understanding of the poor owners who have to drop off their babies and trust them in these people’s hands. They talk to you the entire time like you are checking in to a bonified fancy hotel.
Golden Paw has 3 choices of how you can board your dog as well with some of the funniest options and add-​ons. My mom got the mid-​level which included private play time and group play time. They did a check beforehand to make sure Molly would play nicely with the other little dogs. Speaking of which, they have separate play areas for big dogs vs. little dogs. What cracked me up is that one of the packages includes a nighttime bedtime story. LOLOLOL. Oh and you can also opt in to paying to be able to watch via a webcam into the dog’s room as well as have a TV on in their suite so they have something to watch (they apparently play some special dog channel).
Most important to the staff being friendly is it is an extremely clean facility as well. As we stood at the front desk getting her checked in, I watched the staff (behind the giant window into the playroom) clean up after the dogs multiple times. One woman was also going through and mopping areas of the playroom.
This is a place you can trust very well!

I love their skill for grooming!
I just took 4 x toy poodles there and they look exactly how I wanted. I know poodles are hard to groom due to lots of curly hair.
I feel bad about bring all 4 dogs in a day, so next time I will make sure to split to 2 and 2 not to tire the groomer.
Price is really reasonable, too.
