The men working here are friendly and knowledgeable about whiskey. You can come here for Pliny the Elder on Thursdays. They have a 1 per customer limit, so bring a friend! Also, great selection of beer including Abita Strawberry, Bell’s Two Hearted, Mother Earth Cali Creamin’, a whole bunch of other favorites and lots of potential new favorites, the list goes on. Stop here to grab a quick beer before watching the sunset at the bay.

I moved here about 7 months ago and this is pretty much the only place I buy alcohol… even though they are sometimes more expensive. The location is convenient(for me), they always say hello and are happy to offer suggestions. They never care when I bring my pup in with me and they have gone out of their way to order what I want when they don’t already have it on the shelf. Thanks PB Express!

Wow do they know their beer and wine! I’ve never been so impressed with such a large beer selection in my life! I went in to pick up a couple of craft brews and I left with much more because I couldn’t make up my mind. I came in again when I needed wine and again the selection is Awesome! Not only that, but the employees are of great help! Love this place, always my go to store!

Great place, great prices and awesome selection! I was traveling across the city to get the hard to find California IPA’s…no need anymore! guy behind the counter was great and even gave me a heads up on a future batch of a beer I had been looking for! Cheers PBMARKET!

I hate that I have to say this, but I will NEVER go back to PB Express Market. I’ve lived in the area for over a year and my husband and I have been frequenting this spot for awhile. They have a great beer selection. My husband was going in 2 – 3 time a week to buy his favorites. I stopped in this past Monday to pick up a few things. I was texting my husband to find out what he wanted as I walked in. I went to say hello to the man at the register but he didn’t look up. This has happened before, no big deal. I’m looking for good beer, not a new bff. I was standing in front of the cooler mid-text when a man approached me, «Sweetheart, we are closing soon. You need to make a decision.» My phone said 10:48 at this point so I called my husband at work to move things along. He answered and was giving me his requests when the same man walks up on me and impatiently says, «We are closing» and gestures towards the front of the store. I again look at my phone which now says 10:50. I ask what time they close and he says 10:55. OK, so I have 5 minutes. I’ve already grabbed a couple of things so I am pretty much done. This isn’t frigging Target. I am not buying a bunch of crap, just a few beers, give me a second! I take my items to the front cashier, who is a different person. I apologize to him saying that I didn’t realize they close so early and that my husband is usually the one who comes at night. The cashier just smiles and says it’s ok. Sweetheart is standing by the front door but will not look in my direction. $ 40 later I am on my way. I thank Sweetheart for his patience on my way out but don’t get a response. I am in my car by 10:52. Shocker, it took 5 whole minutes to get what I needed. I’ll close by saying that both my husband and I are in the service industry. We deal with beer, wine and liquor on a daily basis. We were so stoked to find this store but this interaction negates the great inventory. I HATE to put down a small business but you just can’t act like a total a-hole and expect it to be acceptable behavior. I’ll happily drive up to Clairemont and go to Crest Liquor store on Balboa. They are always super nice and have a great selection.

Ok, so I just moved to PB from Clairemont(uhhh yeah its better here…), and was scanning the hood for a liquor store with a «decent» beer selection. I was going to Crest for convenience, but their selection sucks, I hate to say. Their deli does rock though! Anyway, driving home from work, I pass PB Express market on the way to Crest, and decide to flip a bitch and give it a looksy. WOW!!! Am I glad I did, their beer selection is easily one of the best, if not THE best in PB!!! Beers I cant find, there here… Beers I have not tasted ever, there here, my favorites, there here, and at damn good prices! I was going to Jug liquor on the northwest side, and I still will when I’m over that way, because they DO have an awesome selection too. But, PB Express is now the reigning champ… CLEAN, well lit, big aisles, ANDCOLDCOOLERS, a knowledgeable, cool staff all add up to a 5 on the liquor store scale… More hopheads need to give this place a try!
