Printing on 5th Avenue

I just had the addresses for our «save the dates» printed here and I am so happy with how they turned out! Manny and Chris were extremely helpful and patient while I decided on the style font I wanted to use. With so many other things on our «to do list», I’m happy this task was made so easy by the staff here and is now one less thing we have to worry about. We will definitely use them again when it comes time to send out our actual wedding invitations. Thanks guys!

I discovered 2 days before a huge networking event that I’m out of business cards. I phoned Printing on 5^th in a panic and asked if they could accommodate a rush order. Manny (the owner) answered, very friendly and definitely helpful. He asked me to email my image right away and he would personally get back to me with a quote. Within a few minutes, I had a quote and confirmation they would be able to complete my order in time for my event. I phoned my payment in the next morning and picked up my order within a few hours. Absolutely saved my «networking» behind! The cards look great, high quality, friendly service and fast. I couldn’t have asked for better service. I will definitely send my future business to Manny and the crew at Printing on 5^th!

After a great experience I had a few months back, I decided to give them a try on a few dozen T-​Shirts our HOG group needed for an upcoming Fall Ride and shirts, invoices, cards, and even my small business plumbing company work truck decals. I was teamed up with Chris and he designed us a great logo for the shirts, cards, truck, and invoices.
I have had shirts printed over the years at places in the East County and had a few bad experiences. I am happy to tell all my buddies that Printing on 5^th is the real deal. The quality could not have been any better and Manny was a joy to work with. He also rides a Harley!
For me to take the time to write two reviews about a printing company on my busy schedule is tough since it’s been a few weeks but I think they deserve 5 stars on what they did for us. The price was fair and the quality was really good.

Went into this business expecting to pay a lot for some announcements I needed in hurry. All I had was a picture and an idea and didn’t want to pay for more than I needed. I expected to be quoted a price for 100 figuring there was a minimum. Instead I was asked how many I wanted, sent a couple of proofs and quoted a very reasonable price. When I returned the next day I was greeted by Manny, the owner, handed my announcements packaged neatly in a box. He even included embossed envelopes free of charge! Great place, Great prices and great work!

This place rocks! Excellent customer service and quick turn around for projects needed. Manny and his crew are awesome!

I’ve used Printing on 5^th for several projects over the summer and they have been great! Always very accommodating with my last minute, rushed requests. As a new small business owner, I made the decision to stay local in Banker’s Hill with the intention to have a great printing shop around the corner to do business with moving forward.
I wish I had first read the low-​starred reviews on Unilocal,as I received similar customer service. To keep costs comparable to other SD print shops, I ended up cutting my original planned design to accommodate one-​sided business cards and rack cards; which were still quoted higher than my original design with a few other custom print shops. I didn’t let this deter me, and I quickly dropped much of my thoughtful text. Also, I was glad I noticed a small change between drafts of font color being changed to red, which I didn’t request and does not align with my business industry, massage therapy. This is a small detail, but important for committing to marketing aimed at creating first impressions.
Customer service– cold, patronizing, and condescending tone and demeanor from the owner– over the course of in-​person, telephone, and e-​mail responses– ended up being my reason to cancel the order and go elsewhere.
Specifically, in e-​mail response the owner used capitalized font and excessive punctuation to emphasize his condescending tone. I actually have concern leaving this thoughtful and genuine review for fear of retaliation based on communication and seeing a response from the owner to another reviewer.
The other print shop I finalized my order with had a better vision and follow-​through with my desired design, was accommodating, and was noticeably more customer service oriented with professional and courteous communication.
I will not use Printing on 5^th in the future, disappointedly and unfortunately, due to quality of interaction.

Every time I come here my projects are done beautifully and in no time! Chris is very talented. I wouldn’t go anywhere else! I got invitations made for a party recently and all of the Envelopes printed with the addresses and he added his creative touch and I was thrilled!

There are not enough words to express how thankful I am for Chris and Nancy. I’ve been working on a book and printing copies at home on my own.
After the seventh book (three cartridges later) I knew I needed some help. I started shopping around and got different answers each time. So I decided to put the project on a temporary hold.
Enter Nancy and the Printing on Fifth team. Turns out she handles all printing jobs for the restaurant where I work. When I told her I was working on a book and needed help, she told me to stop by the shop. She even brought Manny by the restaurant a couple nights later and I was able to chat with them for a couple minutes. Truly some of the nicest people I have ever met.
I’ve spent hundreds of hours formatting this damn book so when I finally nailed it, I saved it to the thumb drive, gathered what printer paper I had left and headed to the shop. Nancy was extremely warm and welcoming, asked questions about what I had in mind, and then partnered me with Chris who was going to see the project through completion.
Now I know how big of a pain in the ass this entire process can be, so imagine my dismay when we plugged in the thumb drive and the entire formatting was off. Margins, line spacing, fonts, everything. Just as I was about to call it quits, Chris went through with me and helped me fix everything. And i mean everything. He quickly became a pro and even caught errors my eyes had missed. His patience through the entire thing was extraordinary and deserves five stars alone. After a few trial prints, we worked out the kinks and agreed on a final format. Though it looked slightly different than the original design, I left the shop feeling confident. One more visit a couple days later to ensure the book was printing the right way and i was able to give him the green light.
It’s Monday and I have in my hands 12 perfectly printed books, ready to be folded, hand sewn, and bound. And it wouldn’t have been possible without Chris’s help. The job was fast, efficient, and EXTREMELY affordable. I will return to these pros for every print job I have for years to come.

This place is awesome! I was searching for a place that prints copies on vellum paper and after going to multiple copying locations, this store had me in and out in less than 10 minutes. The owner and staff are really nice. Definitely found my new go to spot for all my printing needs.

I work at a local neighborhood bar and grill and needed some printing done last minute. I drove all over the city and this was the only place that was willing to help us! Amazing customer service and great price for a last minute somewhat big job. Will absolutely be back!

My boss needed some flyers printed real quick to start advertising a new group we were putting together. I emailed the digital version of the flyer we needed printed, along with the number of copies we wanted, and received an email response almost immediately from Manny, the owner. He asked me a couple of clarifying questions, then emailed me a few hours later stating that they were ready for pick up!

I was super impressed by how quickly the job was completed and let him know that the soonest I could get there was about 15 minutes before closing.
When I arrived, the staff was really cold — No «Hello, how are you» or anything like that. I let the lady that acknowledged me know that I had an order for pick up but she apparently did not have any idea what or where it was. A guy came out from the back office area stating that he would take care of it, put my flyers down in front of me, said, «That’ll be $ 53.», took my CC and stapled my receipt to the invoice slip. That was it.
I said, «Thank you!»… nothing.
As I was walking out, I said, «Have a good day!»… again, silence.
Talk about awkward! Five stars for the amazingly fast and high quality work, minus two for the grumps in the front.

Just had some business cards printed with info & image of a painting. (I’m an artist)
They sent me the layout for approval in one day by e-​mail. Everything looked great. When I picked up my cards, they were just what I wanted! I’ve had a few invites, cards printed before & every time they’ve done the job on time & as good as I good hope for.
It’s great to know where to go when I need a job done great & on time.

This place is incredible!
They helped saved our wedding invitations from the dreaded Stinko’s. The people there were super helpful and totally know what they are doing! I will refer anyone and everyone that has any printing to be done to come here. Fast, affordable, and friendly. Five stars all the way!

Manny was a bit patronizing in his answers to our questions. Also, the price for business cards is apparently two or three times higher than Kinko’s. Too bad, as we would have loved to support a local business.

I’ve had several printing projects completed at Printing on 5^th. Manny and his staff have always been helpful and responsive to my many questions. The jobs have been done properly and in a timely manner. I work for a family owned business, so as often as possible, I like to give my business to another locally owned business. I have not been disappointed with the quality of the work or the customer service at this establishment.
On another plus side, they are located in a nice, quiet area of Banker’s Hill. I love the drive to their shop!

Ask for Chris — he’s seriously the best. I got my wedding invitation (custom reception cards and add’l invite inserts — made a fold-​out card super cute and organized looking), thank you menus and ceremony programs here. Great price and service!
My advice tho is to go knowing what you want. Because at any store, the ppl working there aren’t mind readers. It’s your job to tell them what you want, so they can better understand your vision
