Quality Liquor Store

After finally getting through on the phone I have to change my review to be more positive. I spoke with Vinny who stayed on the phone with me while we called UPS together. He was equally upset and apologized on behalf of UPS quality. While my package didn’t come in time for NYE Vinny has offered to refund my shipping and has given me his personal contact information so he can be reached which is a level of customer service I appreciate sincerely. UPS on the other hand can kick rocks.

What should have been an easy ordering experience was terrible. First, the website for this store is horrible. They have it to ostensibly enable SHIPPING and then don’t bother to tell you where they will and won’t ship. You have to go through the ENTIRE process of ordering your item/​gift for them to then and only then say. OOPS, we don’t ship there. If there is any discrepancy on the order (say, because you were ordering for multiple people they won’t ship to and one of the suite numbers remained), they will send you a message… nope, not to your email… to your account on their website which then sends you a message to log into their website to view the message they sent to your account on their website to THEN tell you to call them and leave them a message on a phone they don’t pick up. Thinking this is a waste of time yet? Wait. When you let them know you placed the order through this cumbersome, time suck of a website and that you order online specifically because you don’t wish to speak to them, they will tell you it’s because there was something wrong on the order and it needs to be fixed. Remember, this makes three (3) communications that have taken place on their website (not your email) which NEVER mention what is wrong or needs to be fixed. So, you call and tell them (on a message because they don’t answer the phone) that it was you who ordered it and if there is something wrong, you would like to know what it is. They then respond with what SHOULD have been sent to you in a simple email at the beginning of this Dante-​esque torture session. You respond (communication #5 on their website… not to your email) with the fix and chastise them for the crime scene that their website looks like. The order gets shipped… FINALLY. Honestly, I think I would rather go to an auto-​mechanic in Bangladesh for a root canal and gallbladder surgery than I would order from this site again.

Most under rated liquor store in the area. I think they’re one of the best. They have the best range of whiskys I’ve seen in SD. Tons of great brands of booze and a great selection of beer. Their prices are fair and every time I’ve been here the staff has been friendly and fast. Every time I go to BevMo, I walk out empty handed and come here. They’ve always been my last minute savior on Xmas gifts. Give them a shot.

unassuming exterior. amazing selection of beers and liquor! well-​priced

I found this place on Unilocal,and was stoked that they were open later than a couple of the other small liquor stores in my immediate area.
They have a pretty good selection of crafty 22s, and that’s all we really looked at. My husband grabbed a few beers he had never seen before and he really enjoyed them… Bonus points because the guy working the counter was very nice.
Their prices are reasonable and are only about a dollar or two higher than a place like Bevmo, and I totally don’t mind paying for convenience.
Overall, we will probably come back and it was a good beer buying experience.

Questionable business practices. Well, yes, these guys have the best selection of whiskey in town, so I decided to stop by after finding a nice bottle of japanese whiskey online for $ 129.99. When I arrived, the clerk took the $ 129 sticker off of the shelf in front of me, and told me the new price was $ 199 and said that he wouldn’t honor the sticker price. I thought he was joking, as such practices are unethical (if not illegal). So, I balked at paying the new price and after some discussion, I referred him to the online site where I could still buy the same bottle for $ 129. He wouldn’t take my word for it, but after he checked the price online, he finally gave in, and sold me the bottle at the original price, while acting like he was doing me a favor.

I love this place for its huge selection of rotating craft beers, wines and assorted liquors! Such great, friendly service and if they don’t have it, they’ll DEFINITELY get it if they’re able to. The actual market is clean and easy to search for what you’re looking for, and if you can’t find it, the gents that work there will help you out.
I don’t go to overpriced gas stations that rob you of your money because it’s «a craft beer” — this is San Diego and we can find craft beer a stone’s throw away. Quality Market Liquor offers competitive prices for hard-​to-​find beers from across the country.

Love this place. I’ve been here a couple of times now, the craft beer selection is amazing, even got some Pliny. They have the largest liquor selection in San Diego, I’ve never seen anything like it. Wall to wall liquor. I asked for a new Macallan scotch they didn’t stock, and they ordered it special just for me. Next time I am looking for a good whiskey, I know where to go. This liquor store has everything you need and is very convenient, and friendly. 5 stars all the way.

I can’t speak enough about the service at Quality Liquor Store! I found a couple of bottles of beer that were not distributed to my home state and decided to place an order online. With the order I also had added a rare bourbon to my cart and began the check out process. During the time I was entering my information in, the bottle of bourbon sold out, so I asked if they ever got it back in stock to let me know. Immediately, Vinny responded to my message and was able to add one more bottle to the online store. It was really nice of him, to go though that hassle for somebody who’s not a «regular.»
When the package arrived, everything was in good shape besides one bottle of beer that had a faulty cap. The packing of the box was fine, but the bottle simply had a defect. I sent a email to Vinny, and although it was not his fault that the bottle leaked, he refunded me the cost + extra for shipping. I have full faith in Quality Liquor Store from start to finish and can not recommend them more! Thank you!!!

Worth the trip to this unassuming storefront. But go inside and the world has just expanded! Great service, great choices — beyond the easy sell — you will find unique and (again) great choices.

Give this place a try, if they are not better than your current liquor store, I will buy you a beer!
Listen, there are only a few things you want when you go to a liquor store. Wine, beer, liquor, few snacks… But I am telling you, when you come here your mind expands with all of the possibilities! This place carries hard to find stuff, easy to find stuff and everything in between.
So, not only can I find The Knot here, but they have turned me on to a few different scotches and they love talking about what they offer. Need some advise, these guys are happy to help!

I am a huge fan of hard to find liquor and this place is fantastic for finding those rare bottles. I had been wanting a 18yr Yamazki whiskey that no one sells, but this place had it!

The store has an online store, which was the way I found and ordered my bottles. It was extremely easy to go online, purchase and set up pickup.

The inventory here is amazing! I mean every top shelf bottle one could want is here. There are a few other bottles I have not seen anywhere else for sale here.

The prices are a bit steep for market value on the bottles. With there not being many options besides shipping from other states, it makes it hard to get a decent price. I would say marked up about 12%-25% over actual market value on some of the bottles.

This place is great with their hard to find inventory, but with the prices I will come back but not my first stop when buying $ 300+ type bottles.

I was staying in SD for a conference near the airport and needed to find a nice gift. It was worth the drive out to this little spot (which had better variety that Bevmo!) They had an amazing selection and really could not have been nicer or more helpful. Looks like a plain liquor mart from the outside, but they have the goods and really know their whiskeys and ryes.

Only two liquor stores in San Diego carry my favorite beer (strawberry organic) and this is one of them. Every time i go i get friendly service. They didn’t have Strawberry so i decided to try Cherry. Both are amazingly tasty.

My favorite Liquor store! The workers are so helpful and funny. They even let me bring my dog in. They have the best beer selection. It can be a tad pricey but that’s just because it’s a liquor store and it’s usually a little more expensive. I’ll always keep coming back here.

These guys have a better scotch selection than BevMo. WOW.
They’re also the only liquor store (to my knowledge) to have Dansk mead, which is a really good Danish mead. They have both the GI Dansk and Viking Blod varieties. These are also 40 proof, so a good time will be had by all.
I’ll be continuing to check out the selection here, and will update as I find more gems.
So glad I’m less than three miles from the Quality Liquor Store.

Always catering to the neighborhoods needs. These guys always have a fresh craft beer selection and outdo liquor stores twice the size and the staff is always more than helpful I couldn’t ask for more within 2 blocks from home!

Bait and switch business.
Found a product online for $ 8, went to the store and now it’s $ 12. The guy gave me some BS about online prices and store prices are different.
I’ll never go back.
