This is a smaller sized farmers market, but I got some really great purchases here, so mitigate expectations. Great way to support local business and obtain fresh local produce. Today great deals from these nice vendors $ 5 purse organizer — cute and functional by Rose’s Home Baked Goods(soon to be 24k Bakery) $ 3/$ 1.00 beer limes(big and juicy) $ 2.50/lb gorgeous white peaches $ 2.00/lb heirloom tomatoes 3/$ 13 mix n max hummus, 3 layer dip, etc –great sample tastes!!! $ 20 for quality Argon soap and small Argan oil in dark container with dropper( ) really nice vendor and part of proceeds go to Morrocan women The bread stand offered irresistible goodies: orange cranberry scone, cinnamon bun, etc. I’ll be back to get the cinnamon brioche loaf!

I found this farmers market to be rather poor in quality. I’ve been to numerous farmers markets but I felt this was by far the shabbiest. I’ll start with the three vegetable and fruit stands; the first was«decently» priced and the items sold of acceptable quality, they all toted the sign«spray free» but were not claimed to be organic. Fertilizers, GMO and injected pesticides were still implied usage. The second stand, everything was 2.50 per pound. All was fruit, again«spray free,» but a lot of the fruit was bitten up, damaged, or bruised. The third stand had a mix but again«spray free,» this stall was a mix of the first two. Moving on there were three stalls for ready food. A Mexican shop that sold tamales, salsa and chips. It was far over priced. The second a Thai restaurant that seemed decent, well proportioned, moderate priced. Lastly a crêpe stand, crepes are kind of the same unless your in Europe where they’re spectacular. So I didn’t bother with the crepes. A flower stand was on one end(far back right corner) but the flowers looked like repacked Trader Joes bundles with wilt, dead flowers, and significantly over priced– 3 for 20?! That’s outrageous for those little bundles! The shops, like most if these pushed hard for sales when places like Etsy have better quality while here it seemed they just wanted to make a quick sale. Places to not, homemade taco/hot sauce was good(not great) and the pesto and hummus makers seemed better for the price. One particular place to avoid was a cosmetic stand that sold natural oils– sage, lavender, etc– who was rather forcefully on selling an older gentleman. Parking was easy, free and the area was clean. I based price and quality to Whole Foods which(honestly) was cheaper except for the local raw honey sales people. I’d stick with stores, while they might not be going to support local farmers and businesses, something I do prefer, I don’t want to buy below average quality nor pay more for it.

What a great local farmers market in an amazing environment! Came here to meet with a client and really enjoyed myself. It really feels away from the city and in a farm town. There were great local fruits, plants, made to order food, sheets, and so many other things. Lots of organic and natural items. Can’t wait til more and more vendors come here and I can’t wait to come back.

There is nothing more romantic in the North County that shopping at a farmer’s market inside a winery in a soft rainy day. I decided to spend my Black Friday morning buying organic tomatoes and plumply pomegranates instead of clothing, and it was a great decision because it was raining and the winery smelled fresh and earthy plus you would encounter too many other shoppers. This farmers market runs from 9 to 12 every Friday, and although it does not have too many vendors, i think it has the perfect size(besides, you can always get your coffee and other needs covered at the cozy coffee shop and the cute little stores and salons you have at the winery). As usual, fresh veggies and fruits(some a little too expensive, especially my dear pommies were a little to stiff in price), but also very interesting home-made fiery salsas and wine related gift stands. Parking is easy, there is tons inside the winery as well as on the street. Try the crepes, you will have a perfect breakfast before going to your work(you can always arrive a bit late, can’t you?)
