If your looking for a great place to get a tattoo done in San Diego this is the spot. Definitely a great atmosphere and all the staff are professional, polite, and put the customer first. Nathaniel Gann did my first tattoo ever. He not only designed the artwork better than I imagined he made the experience of getting the tattoo tolerable. I liked it so much I also received a second tattoo by Nathaniel months later. In San Diego county this is the best place to receive a quality tattoo that will have your friends constantly complimenting your tattoos.

Went back not too long ago to get a back piece and another half sleeve to add on to the half sleeve Terry did for me before. It came out amazing!
Terry is very professional and does fantastic work. Always worth the wait. Also, everyone else in the shop are great and do awesome work. Will be checking back in a few years if/​when I’m ready to do another piece.

This review is long overdue as I got a tattoo from Terry Ribera last summer and was blown away by the finished product. Terry is without question a truly legit artist! I went in with a rough idea and Terry took that idea and ran with it and made it exponentially better. Not to mention, he’s a super nice guy. I just got a good a really good vibe from Terry and his crew. I definitely won’t be getting tattoos from anyone going forward. Thanks Terry!

Got my first tattoo ever with Terry Ribera over the weekend, great experience from the start. I got a half sleeve (biomechanical) in black and grey. Terry is a true artist and based on the pictures of his work I knew I was going to be happy with his work. Sure enough, after I walked out of there I knew I had chosen the best artist in town. My tattoo was even featured on IG by biomech_​collective, this made the experience even better! I know for sure I will be coming back to Terry for more ink.
Terry is very honest and will share what he actually thinks about your ideas, all with the purpose of providing clients a great quality tattoo that will look good in the long run. Everybody in the shop is super friendly and awesome people to talk to.

I am writting to say how happy i am right now. I walked in yesterday wanting two simple but tedious tattoo pieces and Chris took awesome care of that. He did an awesome job with both tattoos and i am now a happy camper. I will definitely go back in the future and get more tattoos with him :).

I love this place! They are very professional, very clean and they have super talented artists! I had work done by an amazing artist Jasmine Worth! She was so gentle and does beautiful work… I LOVE my new ink!!! I will most definitely be back and highly recommend if you are looking for a place in San Diego for your next tattoo!!!

My artist is Terry Ribera and his year long waiting list is well worth it. I have multiple pieces and I wont get another tattoo unless its from him. Time flies so 8 months — 1 year is not that long. Cool shop, comfortable atmosphere and awesome artist/​people. I enjoyed the many many hours I was there and LOVE my ink. There is no doubt that the quality is out of this world and the designs are long lasting, saturated in color and just freaking amazing.

I had been wanting a certain style of tattoo for quite a while, moved to San Diego, and started doing research to find who to do my tattoo. Hence, I stumbled upon Remington. I looked at the artist’s profiles online and took a liking to Shannon’s work.
I decided to go in on Saturday to check out the shop, and it’s not your typical tattoo shop. The decorating is very unique, and actually features some of the artist’s artwork for sale. It showed off each artist’s skill as things other than just tattoos. Anyway, I went in and was able to talk to Shannon pretty quickly. He and I talked about my concept and he got the size of my tattoo as we were talking so we could throw around more ideas. I was also able to set up an appointment with him for Tuesday. I paid the deposit, and left feeling super excited for the appointment.
I came in on Tuesday and everyone there was just friendly as ever. Shannon showed me his final drawing and it was absolutely amazing. He got to work right away. My tattoo took about four hours, and it was one hundred percent worth it. It’s the most badass tattoo I have and the detail is amazing. The atmosphere there is also awesome. You can talk to the artist’s freely about anything. They’re entertaining, too. I can’t wait to go back to Remington for more tattoos. I recommend you go, too!

I had 4 sessions with Terry Ribera at Remington in late 2014 to get a half sleeve on my right arm (included a cover up). I booked with Terry a year in advance after receiving a referral from a friend. The shop is very clean and run in a very professional manner. Terry’s ability as an artist is uncanny! He was able to take the fragments of information that were in my head and put them on my arm in a way that I couldn’t be happier with. I highly recommend Terry and his shop to anyone looking to get a quality work of art.

I’ve been searching for a long time (years) to find someone in SD who I felt confident in their art. I found Terry, and I’m happy to say my research was worth it and my trust well placed.
Quality, vision, integrity and artistry are the keywords to describe Terry and the shop overall. I’m extremely pleased with my first piece from him, and am already in the planning stages for my next.

When I moved to San Diego about a year ago I was looking for a new tattoo shop to get my work done. I went to a few other places but once I went to Remington my search was over! I get my tattoos done by Shannon and he is so great! Everyone there is welcoming and friendly. Every time I go in for a new piece I leave feeling so happy and excited. It’s not only that the work is beautiful, everyone is professional, and when I talk about future tattoos Shannon is always interested and wants to help make my vision come to life! Unlike other places where I have tried to talk about a piece that I am thinking about and the artist acts unenthused and makes me feel that my ideas aren’t important. Remington is just great! I would recommend this shop to anyone. Seriously. :]

I love this shop. I was referred to Gus by a close friend & set up my consultation before coming in. I don’t know how their walk in situation would be as I did read some bad reviews but my experience was great since I had planned in advance. I think all of the artists are very talented, the shop is so cool looking (vintage oddities & peculiar artwork all over the shop); feels clean & sanitary, all the artists take their practice, art & the process very seriously from what I saw.
Easiest way to have a great experience would be to look up the shop/​artists on their website or Instagram & contact the artist there, set up a consultation appointment which is a very quick meeting to go over what you’d like & where, put down a deposit & then schedule your appointment. Most of them have wait times but it’s worth it! Love this shop & Gus’ work, am going back for my second piece from him next week!

First and foremost, the whole experience deserve 5 stars. This shop isn’t your normal neon lit tattoo «shop» nor does it convey that vibe. The shop is more of a reflection of each artist. The location, décor, art and customer service makes you feel at home.
I’ve been tattooed by Terry Ribera and I’ll tell you it’s still one of my favorites peices that I own. All I gave Terry was 3 main objects and somehow ended up with a flowing sleeve filled with filigre, swan, dove, and virgin mary. I really respect that he didnt do anything to my portrait that is on my arm, instead his filigre highlighted Da Wei’s portrait without even touching it.

Called Nathaniel after seeing his work online and wanted to schedule an appointment to discuss a possible cover-​up. He told me to just walk in. Walked in and was treated like a nuisance. He talked to me for a bit and then said I needed to pay $ 60 for a consultation and make an appointment to come back. Why couldn’t I have done that over the phone?
He would not commit to doing one cover up because he said there wasn’t much that could be done. The other one I had a couple ideas but asked him for guidance because I’m not that artistic. He was reluctant with the ideas and completely disinterested. The guy has no customer service skills and did not make me feel welcome or like he wanted my business. He happily took my $ 60 bucks though.
Save yourself the waste of time and find a shop that has basic common courtesy and artists that don’t think they’re too cool for school.

They no doubt have great tattoo artists.

It’s been a little over half a year since my husband and I came to Remington to get our first tattoos and I have never regretted it one bit. I found Remington on Unilocal and fell in love with Terry and Nathan’s work but unfortunately they were booked so we made an appointment with Shannon.
Shannon did a great job turning both of our simple ideas into beautiful artwork. I constantly get compliments about how beautiful my tattoo is and how it looks like I just got it done. If I still lived in California, this would be my go to place to finish up my sleeve since honestly, I think you would be in great hands with any of the guys here so if you’re looking for a quality tattoo, definitely come to Remington.

Starting off, the tattoo I had done here was merely a «fixer» to a horrendous job of an «E.G.A.» (Google it if you must) that I had done back in 2006. I was young/​dumb and payed a measly $ 140 for it, so I guess the picture will show that yes, you truly do get what you pay for.
Fast-​forward to 3÷2÷15. I caught wind of this place from a co-​worker who has extensive tattoos and experience of his own. It is conveniently located in the heart of north park, adjacent to many small restaurants and micro-​breweries. The building is small but then again, it is San Diego, where everything is compact.
On to what everyone would consider really «helpful.» I was immediately greeted by Brad, who ended up being my tattoo artist. He was very straight forward and professional in explaining the details of their protocols. I had to pay a small $ 100 deposit and set up an appointment the following week. When I showed up, he had everything ready to go and proceeded to do work on my arm.
He also has some hand paintings, which he had set up in various locations in the shop. I will definitely be back for an animal piece, and judging from his paintings and of course my tattoo, will opt for Brad as my tattoo artist.

My artist who tattoo’d me was Terry Ribera, I was very impressed with all of the work he had done in the past and knew that the way he makes all the colors really pop was something i wanted in my tattoo. During my consultation we discussed the ideas i had for my tattoo and through his suggestions i ended up with a design that i liked better than the one i had in my head prior to the appointment. I am super happy with my tattoo its gorgeous and i have yet to show it to someone who was not in awe of how detailed and beautiful it is. All of the artists at Remington Tattoo are very friendly, knowledgeable and professional and passionate about their art form. I looked at a lot of work from all the artists that work there and was impressed with everyone, you can’t go wrong with any of them :)

I really enjoy this shop, the staff is all really professional and makes you feel really comfortable. I had a half sleeve by Shannon and he really created a beautiful piece on my arm, he had a really light hand which is great because I’m a huge wimp. It was worth the pain. I’m in love with it, even though it isn’t quite finished yet.

This review is for Terry Ribera and is WAY OVERDUE!
I first saw Terry’s work in NY when I was exploring the idea of getting a large back piece done. His work totally inspired me and sparked a two year journey and even a move to San Diego.
I had little idea at the beginning of what I wanted and at the time I was living part time in Seattle and Mexico. All I knew for sure is that Terry’s art was incredible and I hadn’t seen any other tattoo artist like him. We began to correspond once I had secured a time I would be visiting SD. He was always very professional in his emails and always replied to me in a timely manner. Yes, he has a long waiting list and he damn well should, if you want the type of tattoo that Terry offers you should allow yourself the patience to wait for it. I can’t say i’ve seen high quality tattoo work from places that just do walk in (and I’ve had to learn that lesson the hard way).
When planning my piece I pretty much entrusted Terry with my entire back, giving him a couple of ideas on things I liked and more on things/​styles I didn’t like. By the time I actually saw the finished sketch it was close to the appointment and I couldn’t have been happier. It was as if he had tapped into the artist within me and extracted exactly what I had envisioned but could have never drawn myself. By the time I actually met Terry I felt like knew him.
The shop is a true expression of Terry’s style, and so unique. As I had only got smaller tattoos done in the past I was nervous about how much I would be able to bare and how patient Terry was going to be dealing with an amateur. My fears were put to rest as soon as I sat in the chair. He was very professional yet personable and was always respectful of my threshold.
Two years later and I couldn’t be happier with my tattoo, the coloring is breath taking and the piece as a whole is better than I could have ever dreamt of.
It was pleasure meeting Terry and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for true art work in a tattooist.
After visiting San Diego and North Park solely for my tattoo we fell in love with the city and moved here 8 months ago, so I got more than a tattoo out of it :)
