What a quaint little shop I felt like I was back in the 50s. It had unique candies that I have not seen in years and all types of bottled soda I’ve never seen.
There were all types of salt water taffy in many flavors Mary Janes, hard candies you name it this store had it. There were also many posters and tins from yesteryear.
Definitely a place to check out in PB.

This is such a neat little store. There’s so much to look at, and the man there was really helpful. He offered me a taffy, and when asked, pointed me in the right direction of the best root beer they had there. I took his advice in getting a root beer (the name escapes me now), and although the label looks completely uninviting and simple, it was THE BEST ROOTBEER I’ve ever had. I didn’t try it until I left the area, so I didn’t realize this until it was too late. I would have gotten so many more. The taste is like rootbeer with a heightened and elevated taste. Each sip would activate my tastebuds and gave the best aftertaste. I had some with a scoop of vanilla bean icecream, but I really had to drink the rest by itself to savor the delicious taste of it. What a great find.

This place is amazing! Such a variety of candies to choose from. A lot of rare candies that’ll remind you of your childhood.

This is a very interesting store I think that the odd sodas are very interesting but the candy is a little overpriced and all things you can find at five below. but the sodas can range from root beer to bacon soda. I tried the cherry cream and it was really sweet but very tasty. It was «refrigerated» but it was actually just warm. If you like salt water taffy this is a must. They have a ton of flavors from guava and rum to cupcake. The decoration is very fun .they have funny signs hanging over every where and card board cut outs. A fun place but not a five star place.

We went on here on a whim and I’m SO glad we did!
The owner was cool as a polar bear. Within minutes he had us puckering with sour smarties samples and talking about childhood favorites. They even have international candies.
I bought a bottle of Green River. Haven’t had that since I was a kid!
If you need a funny gift or something sweet, start here. You will leave with the perfect thing and a head full of sweet memories.

This store is awesome. They have the coolest novelty candy, posters, and gifts. It’s the cleanest store in PB with the best customer service. I love this place. We’re definitely coming back often. Super reasonable prices too.

You can find all kinds of candy here that will bring you back to your childhood in an instant. Plenty of hard to find candy here.
If soda is your thing, they have tons to chose from! (ranch dressing soda, anyone?) My son gets Japanese soda every single time.
They have all kinds of random items for sale too including a vast collection of vintage signs. You can find all kinds of silly gifts here, like Vinderpants, because who doesn’t need underpants for your wine bottles?!
Check them out if you’re wandering about PB. Be sure to get a sample of their salt water taffy too, they’ve got some great flavors!

They. Have. Everything! Plus you’re a kid again when you walk into the store. I specifically went on a mission looking for Warheads Chewy Cubes, and they had it. Of course, my eyes and hands wandered to other things as well! You have to expect items will be, and may be, overpriced since it is a specially store. But if you think about it, what you pay in gas driving all over town looking for that «it», equals whatever extra you’re paying for the product at Rocket.
Overall cool place!

The store has hundreds of kinds of soda pop and so many different types of candy, including stuff from my childhood that I had forgotten about! The staff was absolutely so helpful and warm and friendly. I love this place!

What a super cool candy store with so many different soda options! So fun to walk around and see the various options to get… A bit pricey, but so fun to cruise around times and to get the special treat!

Such a cool store! A must for the sweet tooths and candy addicts of San Diego. Such a large variety of craft, hard to find sodas! I spent a good 10 min deciding what I wanted before settling on a Sioux City Sarsaparilla. Tons of candy and gag gifts, the salt water taffy selection is pretty impressive as well…

What a great place! I’m a sucker for a good candy store and they are hard to come by anymore! There was so much stuff I couldn’t focus and bought one of everything. The giant selection old fashioned and novelty sodas are really cool. There is a huge of retro and new candy in sure I didn’t see it all. Even got a recommendation for an amazing root beer. The man working was super knowledgeable and helpful! I’ll be back!!!

Totally my kind of candy store. Retro feel, great candy selection, even better soda collection, and lots of fun nostalgic and/​or funny tchotchkes. I loved it.

Oh my gosh, do you remember Farrell’s and that awesome candy section they had in the front of the restaurant? Well, this is like that candy section times 10!
I found the old tried and true and the utterly unique and fascinating… they have a whole section devoted to bacon flavored near the front of the store.
My thoughts, if you are having a fun event and want some unique gifts for your guests, come here! Or if you just need to find a fun birthday gift, this store will have something novelty.
And if you have nothing else to do, just stop on by and check it out. I feel like this place could be featured on The Food Networks ‘Unwrapped’.
Like anything in PB, parking can be a bit of a hassle, so be prepared to walk.

Great selection of rare candy and fun/​gag gifts! Hundreds of rare bottled sodas… from ranch dressing flavored soda to «The Price is Right» soda! They hace bacon flavored cotton candy, old school candy cigarettes, and magic tricks… definitely worth the visit!

If you have little ones, its worth the stop!!! Everybody will be a winner. My 2 nephews already want to come back.

We came across this little shop the other day. What a cool spot! If I was a soda drinker, I’d pick my jaw from the floor upon entering! Any and all types of soda, even bacon! They had authentic salt water taffy and chick o sticks:) You can fill a bag with your choices from the barrels of assorted candies lining the wall. Makes me feel like a kid again. It’s nice there is something to do along this part of PB besides stuff your face and drink. The woman behind the counter was super nice and I really like the old school tin signs all over for sale. Must be a workout to keep it as tidy and clean as it was! We will return and thanks for putting smiles on our faces:)

FEELING WELCOMED:
I feel like a little kid in a candy store (no really i do!) when I go to this shop. When you walk in, a staff member will greet you with a bowl of taffy candy to try one of their flavors. There are lots of candy, soda, metal signs and novelty toys to look at. I’ve been to this place about 4 times already just to show my friends how cool this store looks inside and all the wonderful treats and surprises it holds.
CHILDHOOD MEMORIES:
In the beginning of my review, I mention that I felt like a little kid in a candy store. That is because I found several candies that I have not seen since I was in elementary school such as: Big League Chew, Astro Pops, Chiclets Tiny Size Gum, bubble gum cigarettes, candy liquids inside wax that are shaped like little bottles… and the list goes on! And each of these candies brought back heartfelt and comical childhood memories that I had with my brothers when we were kids.
SPEND QUALITY TIME:
If you do visit Rocket Fizz, this is not your typical candy store to just grab some treats and leave. Spend about 10 – 15 minutes and take the time to look through all the candies available since some of them are from different countries. Also, the sodas are pretty entertaining to look at due to their names. For example, there are dictator sodas named: Nuclear Orange Bomb (w/​a picture of Kim Jong il), Seal Ya Later (w/​a picture of Osama Bin Laden), and Havana Banana (w/​a picture of Fidel Castro). There are also other creativity sodas like a bacon soda and chocolate soda.
WANT TO HAVE SOME FUN:
If you are looking for a gag or novelty item to give to a friend or family member, Rocket Fizz offers fun toys such as a pocket fart machine, Googley Eye glasses, Bacon Alarm Clock, to name a few. They are all spread out all over the store.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
A couple of my friends believe that this store won’t last that long, but I do hope that they are wrong. We need a cool store with fun and sweet tasty items in Pacific Beach because:
A.) PB is a tourist town and tourists likes to look and buy things
B.) you can get unique items to give to a family member or friend
C.) you have access to candies that you don’t see in a regular convenient store or a market
D.) this store will make you smile and feel good when you need a break from the craziness of PB
