I am a Talent Agent out of Hollywood Ca. and I rented a second place in San Diego
from The Gang over at S&D.
These people are The Most Truly Wonderful group of people of whom I have every met!
There’s Paris… The Youngest employee…
He was so Polite and Excited and Eager the first time that I called that I actually think that I rented from them just to be friends and have a connection with such Genuine Souls.
There’s Miss Kim (singing Diva of the Universe)…hahaha
and Charming Miss Angela and Sweet Miss Sue.
After I rented the apartment… I had a major family emergency and they Helped me in every way possible. They really did not have to do anything, but they did and I appreciate them.
They truly care about their clients and their community.
What a Wonderful Experience and Christmas Miracle… They were to me.

I just called the office and I’m not sure with whom I spoke. She was very unprofessional and would not give me her name. I had two units I was looking at and asked if one would be ready for move in on April 1^st as the ad stated. She said no, I asked if the ad was wrong, she said yes and started giggling at me when I began to ask about the other unit. She then hung up on me after I asked her name. This gross lack of professionalism should not be tolerated, and when I contacted the company about it, I got no response. If you’re trying to hire this company to rent out your place or if you’re looking to them for a place to live, I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere.

Great property management!!! Been living in one of there apartments for over a year and they are very hospitable and easy to talk with! If you ever have a problem give them a call and they fix it right up! I would totally recommend going through them to find your next home:-D if your looking for a month to month 6 month or 1 year lease they are very hospitable and accommodating!!!

These people are beyond rude! They don’t communicate to each other at all and just blame things on one another instead of simply fixing the problem. I would rate them no stars if I could. During my lease i was put onto military orders and had to leave rather quickly. you would think they would work with me a little right? absolutely not. They made my life much more stressful and every person I spoke to gave me different information. They took my entire deposit because the unit was not clean. I understand I missed some things but 900 dollars worth! They are ripping me off! I couldn’t believe it!!!
They have a lack of professionalism and customer service. I promise you– if you don’t listen to the advice of myself and others you are in for a rude awakening. Do not rent with them!!!

Great property management company! We have needed a few maintenance services and they have been very efficient & the maintenance people do amazing and fast work!

I just moved in and already an issue with the company. Ive been here for 3 weeks and no maintenance in sight even though i have sent multiple requests for action. Oh the customer service is non existant. I spoke to a woman named Deb several times and Ive never spoken to someone so defensive and irrational. Do NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR TENANTS… AND IF YOUR A OWNER CONSIDERING THEIR SERVICES… consider there lack of organization and unprofessionalism with the tenants…

If I could give 0 stars, I would. D O N O T R E N T from this train wreck of a property management company.
My unit had roaches when I moved in which was not the welcoming I was hoping for. The took care of the bugs fairly quickly, but seemed pretty put out to do so. My hot water heater was so old that the plumber that came to repair it regularly, laughed and asked how my unit hadn’t burned down yet. Most of the doors in my unit were missing doorknobs which I got charged for out of my security deposit once I moved out. I also had to pay for new screens to be put in the unit even though the ones I received were at least 10 years old and sagging. I was charged $ 200 for cleaning the unit after I cleaned all 600 square feet of it myself. Maybe I should go into business for myself as their apartment cleaner; I’d be a wealthy woman. $ 200 for a 600 square foot unit with no carpet in the unit at all? Sketchy.
And the best part? My neighbors sold meth out of the unit next to mine for the entire awful year that I lived there. I used to hear them shoving plastic bags into the walls at night and have to see all of their «friends» that would come visit… awesome.
Think really hard about whether or not you NEED to rent from these careless people. I know I never will again. I’ll take my chances on the street first.

My neighbors home went into forclosure, this company supposedly managed the property prior or after the sale. The yard was never up kept for almost two years. The previous tenant had to care for the property, which was non-​existent because of their disabilities. If you want to be left alone and have no one care for the property and allow squatters to move in after tenants leave; this is the property management company for you!

I really wish Unilocal allowed for zero stars. I don’t even know where to begin. The apt. building I was in used to be run by the owner, and then she hired S&D and everything went down hill. We went from having a wonderful landlady to a terrible, mean landlord that was never around — especially if you needed something!!!
In addition, when I moved out I asked for an initial walk through — was told no, then 7 days before I moved out they informed me that I NEEDED to do a walk though. Umm… really? When the walk through came, the landlord asked me what he should charge me for. Umm… that’s not how this works.
After I moved out (giving my proper 30 days notice, etc.) I received a letter informing me that I had missed rent — for the month after I had moved out! What?! When I called the landlord to ask, he just told me to ignore it. No, that’s not how this works.
Lastly, it’s been a month and I still have not received my deposit back. If I do not receive it in 5 days, I will be contacting my attorney.

Unless you’re the do-​it-​yourself, handy-​man type, think twice about renting a unit from this company. They only care about the owners who are paying them for their service, but they don’t give a flip about tenants — other than collecting the rent. A simple maintenance request will require AT LEAST 3 phone calls and possibly an in-​person visit to get any action.
Even after going in person every month to pay rent, i have yet to see any signs of humanity in the staff; they’re like zombies, just putting in their time. They don’t even bother to give the impression that they care about tenants — How’s your family? How’s work going? etc.
A sad little office with sad little people…

I rented from them for a while and while they weren’t the worst landlords ever, they were not good. The place was a dump; broken window, mold growing in the bathroom, dead termites, cigarette burns everywhere, toothbrush jamming up the bathroom sink. It also reeked of smoke and the light fixtures were all dim and yellow from smoke. Now I’m not blaming them because I did decide to move in anyway because of circumstances in my life. It just shows the level of care given to the property and tenants. People (residents and nonresidents) would dump furniture and trash all over the public areas which would get cleaned up about once a year.
They also made a lot of annoying mistakes. They tried to raise the rent long before the lease was up and I went in to set that straight, but I still got called for the next two months telling me I owed extra rent even though I called another two times and they said they had fixed it. I had to write a letter, basically pretending that I thought they were trying to illegally raise my rent, to get them to stop. (I don’t really think it was on purpose… just laziness). They sent mail with multiple addresses on it and mail with my neighbor’s name and my address (and these are all properties they manage). I don’t see why it should be that hard… it’s not like they are a huge company or something. Everybody makes mistakes but they had a general air of half-​assery that became really inconvenient sometimes.
Pros: The one time I called to get something repaired (a leaky shower) the guy did come within the next couple days and solved the problem. They also never came in without giving me proper notice (that I know of). But overall I would not recommend them.
If you do have to deal with somebody, try to get Kim. Everybody else was either rude or seemed kind of dumb.
