Salon 1532

Chelsea is AMAZING!!! I get spray tanned by her and recently got my hair cut by her. I usually get my hair done by my sister but she lives in the Bay Area and I needed a trim. Chelsea gave me the push to go shorter then what I had in mind and I couldn’t be happier!!! I LOVE my hair and have never received so many compliments on a haircut!

I have been in to this salon twice now and had my hair cut by Chelsea. It is a great establishment and Chelsea is the bomb. Not only is she talented in the hair department but what a great personality to boot! Unfortunately I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to get my hair cut super short, as not to freak when the hair loss got worse. Chelsea was super sweet, thoughtful, and had just the right words to sooth my emotional self, and put me at ease. In fact the entire staff was sooooo helpful on this day, and they now have a loyal customer.

I came here because my stylist Andrea Kruza moved here. I’ll follow her anywhere! I love Little Italy though the parking is difficult — parked at Acme which is expensive but not as expensive as a parking ticket. I like the new location. Nice reception, mimosas, coffee, comfy couch, good music.

I’ve come to Salon 1532 for two spray tans so far and I LOVE them! The staff is all very friendly and makes you feel super comfortable! I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a beautiful glow!

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! My appointment was at 11:15 but I got there early because of parking. I ended up arriving at 10:45 and Jessica took me back promptly. First of all, the interior of this place was so cute and cozy! It was so nice — I have never seen a place so adorable! Secondly, Jessica, the owner, has the cutest southern accent and was just the nicest person ever. I was getting a custom spray tan and I was not uncomfortable at all. She was great with the spray tan, too. She sprayed me once and asked me if I wanted to be darker and I said yes so she did it again. Unlike the other custom tans I’ve had done, I didn’t have to put cream on my hands and fingers — she worked around them so my wrists, hands and fingers didn’t turn out so gross looking!
Also — I found them via Groupon for a good deal but the unlimited monthly custom tan deal is only $ 79, which is WAY CHEAPER than the majority of salons downtown. I would gladly keep a monthly subscription to this place!
Highly recommend you go visit these girls!

Lindsay is wonderful! A true expert when it comes to color, cut and style. She suggested balayage to me and I’m so glad she did. I have always been used to really blonde hair and now I have best of both worlds; naturally blonde that is low maintenance and still looks really good. My hair instantly felt softer, shinier and healthier. I will continue to go to her for all of my hair needs and highly recommend her!

Adorable location and salon experience.
Andrea is amazing, talented and thoughtful in her styling expertise. She also does a friends hair who is super picky and she loves Andreas work. Highly recommend. Everyone really cared that I had a good experience.

As a dude, I’ve had every kind of chop. From Supercuts, OtherCuts, La Jolla salons in Bird Rock where everyone is dressed in white and drinking cucumber spritzers to Hillcrest barbers that style you so hard you start feeling weird about yourself.
A friend finally said my natural good looks and charm were only getting me so far and suggested I see Lindsay Norsa at Salon 1532. I was dubious of another overpriced and potentially dangerously androgynous hairchop, but I try not to pass up good advice from stylish friends and went in. You can’t miss the smiling, seven foot tall, pink haired style maven. She asked what I did for work and fun, what my interests were and shears started flying.
As when getting a tattoo, I like to let the artist do their thing and hope all turns out well.
I’m writing this because I’ve never been complimented by strangers and friends alike on my haircut. Even the CIO of my company came by and said «Heyyyyy, now that’s a stylish guy» the other day. I’m officially calling it my «Lucky Haircut».
Get your style right even if you don’t give a damn about style and dig what a real artist can do with your steez. Lindsay Norsa for the win.

I’ve only been once, but between my cut, my first balayage (!), and the included wine I’ll definitely be back!
I’m not the type of «hang out at the salon all day long» and pay an insane amount of money for my cut kind of person. Lindsay worked with me on this and gave me a balayage (haven’t colored my hair in YEARS!) that she knew would be subtle enough for me but still make a drastic difference — bonus that you don’t have to do this every month to keep it up! She said that I may become obsessed with it, and I think she’s right! I had to get quite a bit cut off due to damage, but I loved my cut for the length that I have.

I’be been to this salon twice and every time I received great service. Chelsea is amazing. She is very friendly and easy to talk to. I asked her to remove the red tones in my hair and she did! I’m very happy with my new hair color. I’m definitely going back to see Chelsea for my next hair appointment!

The staff and services are fantastic! Jessica for lash extensions and Chelsea for my hair. The best!

Lindsay was the best! She was very honest about my hair color and did a beautiful glaze, made it look so shiny with extra treatment. I am so glad to find a hairdresser after moving to SD. She also gave me a perfect haircut with keeping the length I wanted. And the best blowdry I ever had. I have a curly hair and its very hard for me to trust hairdressers. She listened to me and knew exactly what I wanted. Thank you!

Love this salon!
Atmosphere– Super cute décor! Modern yet chic and feminine. Open and spacious yet still very cozy! Love love love.
Spray Tans– YES. Do it! Chelsea and Amy usually do mine and they are fantastic! I don’t go anywhere else.
Lash Extensions– Amazing! Jess does a wonderful job and really KNOWS what she’s doing! She teaches classes and is a total pro… She’s also the owner and is super nice and fun to chat with. :) Karina also does a great job but I believe she primarily works from their La Jolla location (Glo Beauty Bar).
Blow Outs and Hair Styling– James does lovely blow outs and styling. The products they use are great too.
Makeup– I forget the name of the girl that did mine but I had a great experience! Beautifully done and listened to what I asked for plus had some awesome ideas and input of her own.

This place is so great for so many reasons. First, it’s so beautiful. Second, the owner & all who practice out of here are super friendly, eager to please & so beautiful (and where it really counts too ~ their heart). Third, I loved so much my cut and color. An expert with the sheers and a master colorist ain’t easy to find! Fourth, I can get my lashes done too at the same time with experts in that department too. Fifth, the location is wonderful with dozens of different fun places to dilly dally through. Sixth, you get complimentary drinks including wine & champagne. Seventh, they know their products & they are some of the best on the market. Eighth, they rock great music & have up to date, interesting magazines to peruse while in-​between things. Ninth, they have a cute, comfy lounge area. It’s just awesome!!!

Besides the salon being absolutely beautiful and the overall ambiance being well deserving of my 5 star review, Jaime is your next obsession! You’ll never see another stylist, I love my hair EVERY time I leave his chair and I look forward to my next appointment each time! Amazing cuts and color! Go see Jaime!

Lindsey is awesome!!! She did 6 packs of their own extensions in my hair that they order in which get their really quickly… Like a 2 day turn around time. She matched my coloring perfect to the extensions and put them in beautifully. I suffer from thin hair that is anything but volumizing or healthy appearing… she made my year let alone Day today and made my hair become totally thick and full and gorgeous! Thank you!

Sometimes experiences are so great that they deserve a review on Unilocal.Getting a hair cut from Lindsay at Salon 1532 is one of them! I recently moved to San Diego and I was looking for a good stylist. I am a guy with long hair and due to some aweful experiences in the past I am pretty picky about who gets to touch my mane. A couple of good references pointed me to Lindsay at Salon 1532. I can honestly say that hair wise this was the best decision I could have made.
First about the salon: Interior is clean and has great character and decoration. I was offered a beer and felt comfortable during my cut. Relaxed atmosphere and not loud.
And then my stylist. First off Lindsay listened very patiently to everything I had to say about my hair. I know what I want and she clearly understood what I meant. Not only did she know what I was talking about, she also offered professional advice that answered questions I didn’t know I had. We had a great conversation during the cut and the result was exactly what I wanted and exactly how she had explained it would look like before the cut.
These are things you would expect of any stylist. BUT apparently Lindsay also knows beards. I had been to a couple of barbers in San Diego before but had never been impressed by the results. Lindsay said she knew beards and yet again offered some advice I just could not say no to. She trimmed my beard to perfection.
And then the icing on the cake. I had told her that I was playing with the idea of getting a braid in my hair. Five minutes later she had put the most badass looking viking braid in my hair that I had always dreamed of.
Never have I had a hair cutting experience that was so professional and a lot of fun.
Get a cut at Salong 1532, ask for Lindsay and you’ll get a hair experience beyond believe!

I’ve put this review off for a while. But having moved away from San Diego, I’ve come to miss this place so much.
I called for a last minute appointment — I was trimming the back of my pixie cut myself and the guard fell off and I didn’t notice. I ended up with like 4 inches shaved off the back of my head. After crying and freaking out and wearing a hat to work, I phoned salon 1532 and Janet was able to take me on my lunch hour.
She did such a masterful job making the cut look intentional, but also totally chic and professional. She was able to blend the shaved hair expertly and what couldn’t be blended she covered so that it wasn’t visible. Even though the cut was a «cover up» it looked better than the one I had before. I never would have chosen to have my hair so short before, because I work in a professional atmosphere where «edgy» cuts are frowned upon. But Janet knocked it out of the park. I got SO MANY compliments on the haircut from coworkers, friends, and random people on the streets.
My hair is longer now and I look back at the photos of this cut and sigh wistfully. Since I moved to Texas, I’ve tried to get two salons to recreate the look, and it was a total disaster. I got SO MANY
I will always appreciate Janet for her sympathy, flexibility, attention to detail, and generally pleasant attitude. I loved the entire experience at the salon too — a big wide open space with the breeze blowing in. Great place! I miss it!

Its my second visit and I still love it.
Excellent services and location. The place is very neat and clean. The staff is super friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Now for the services, Ariene is amazing with the lash extensions. She is super friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. I really recommend Ariene for lash extensions.
For lash extensions Its about $ 65 the fist time but only $ 45 if you do it every two weeks and you will always have perfect looking eyelashes. Also the sealant mascara is cool too at about $ 22.

I live right down the street so this salon is very convenient and just a few steps away. They are really good at reminding you when your appointment is. I received 2 phone calls, one a few days before and one the day before to remind me that my appointment was on Sunday. What I didn’t like was that when the girl left the message, she tried to up-​sale me by asking me if I wanted an upgrade. This is a great business tactic but I didn’t feel like it was necessary especially when I didn’t answer my phone. I was confused as to whether I was supposed to call back if I wanted an upgrade or if I was to call back to confirm my appointment.
I had made reservations for a blow out and sadly, I wasn’t very impressed with my blowout. The curls weren’t very curly and they fell out right before my engagement photo session. I have very stubborn Asian hair but somehow, other blow out places manage to get my curls to hold for at least a day. It’s really not the stylist’s fault– I’m pretty much blaming my genes for having thick and long and abundant amounts of hair on my head. I also felt like the girl who did my hair rushed on me because there was another client waiting. The girl was nice and sweet though! However, upon hearing about my disappointment management did call me to try to make it up to me by offering me another blow out! What amazing customer service! I’m not going to get another blow out because I know that it’s probably my hair that was being stubborn and nothing I do can keep a curl.
The blow out price is comparable to places that only offer blow outs.
The customer service was nice and the front desk girl offered me some water when I walked in. 5-​stars for great customer service from management! I would recommend them just for their superb customer service and guarantee that you will be satisfied, if not, the owner will make sure you get the star treatment!
