I used to go to these guys for all my auto maintenance and repairs but now I am on the look out for someone new.
It started when I convinced my gf to take her car there for an oil change. It was a Friday morning (around 8:30) when we dropped the car off, and we were told we would get a call to come and get the car when it was finished (around noon/​early afternoon). Well, we realized too late that we never got a call and the shop is closed until Tuesday. So we picked the car up with a spare key and contacted them on Tuesday and asked if the oil had been changed, they said «yes.» I checked and the oil was still dirty so we took it back and they actually changed it this time. I continued to go there.
What finally changed my mind was when I made an appointment for a repair to my vehicle (a week in advance). Well, I dropped it off, signed the invoice (for the cost to just check it out), and left. I contacted them around 4pm to see why I hadn’t received a call about my vehicle, and was told that they were «swamped today and didn’t have time to look at it,» and suggested I make another appointment. So now I am finished going to this shop and am looking for another one.

This guy charges way too much I pretty much got charged double for parts and the labor charges are outrageous on top of all that he only fixed what broke not what caused it

I’m not sure if this shop is related to the one on Catalina but I was very happy with my repair at that location with the same name.

Yay for Tony! I’ve been looking for a good mechanic for some time now, and I’m glad I found this place. He’s always super friendly and doesn’t screw you around like most places in SD. He’s also the best deal around. :)

What a wonderful experience. Tony is a nice guy who really knows what he is talking about. He goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and earn your continued business. In my case I was driving on shot brakes. I was afraid to get them fixed and be dinged with an impossibly high 1000 dollar repair job. Tony installed a new brake system for a minimal cost of 250 dollars and on top of that he fixed my shotty emergency brake and cleaned out a scuff on the back of my car for no extra charge. I didn’t even know you could wipe that scuff off. Needless to say I was impressed. I came here in the first place because of the positive Unilocal reviews! Now I can say that I am not disappointed.

Tony was great! Went here for an oil change (it was under $ 20 after tax with a pennysaver coupon). I was treated very nicely and respectfully and not talked-​down-​to, like I have in the past with other mechanics. Tony made me feel as if we were old friends just having a conversation; he patiently listened to my questions (regarding other/​future maintenance) and explained detailed solutions to my concerns. He even rotated my tires for no extra fee (even though I had mentioned that I would be going to where I bought my tires since they do it for free there– he saved me a trip!) I will definitely be returning for my next oil change and any other maintenance my car shall need. Good, honest work!
