I’ve been an interior designer for over 20 years so I’m often called upon to research solutions for issues related to interior, and sometimes exterior, living space. This past summer I had a client in Del Mar with a large deck and a view of the ocean and nearby park land.
During our initial consultation it was decided that a portion of the deck and the entire handrail surrounding its perimeter would be rebuilt to better match the style of this contemporary home.
The client wanted something sturdy with a low profile that was as translucent as possible to preserve the spectacular view, and was easy to maintain. It was also important that the new structure would last for years and serve to keep both children and pets safe when using the deck.

Very poor customer service here. I referred a client to San Diego Cable Rail. Nearly two months after providing plans, elevations, photos of the existing conditions and our client making a deposit, SDCR reused to complete the job, Needless to say, this was both disappointing and embarrassing.

I live in the midwest and recently purchased a DIY cable railing kit from San Diego Cable Railings. This kit has been great and so easy to install. When I began looking at stair kits I got bids from a couple companies but San Diego Cable Railings was the only one who had pre-​drilled the stair posts and the posts where cut to size so all I had to do was install. It was a no brainer. My sales representative was very helpful with figuring out all the parts I would need and the delivery was quick. I used the side mount posts for my inside stairs and they were very easy to install and so was the pre swaged cable tensioning system. When I had a technical question I was so surprised the owner called me back in 5 minutes to answer my questions. The customer service was amazing!!! I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a cable railing system. I wish they included or emailed more directions with the kits but other than that I have no complaints. A helpful hint when you are measuring your stairs for the angle make sure you subtract the thickness of your carpet. Great company and would work with them again!

Our project started w/​an immature vision; Steve and crew made it reality.
The project consisted of 3 parts — cement repair (independent contractor), cable rail installation (SD Cable Railings) and cement reconditioning/​coating (Life Deck). Phase 1 was a nightmare — delays, overruns, excuses and a shoddy final product.
When Steve visited to assess Phase 2, he acknowledged the poor state of affairs (our frustration may have been slightly noticeable) but was immediately helpful. He not only offered a number of constructive solutions to recover and execute his component, but also found creative ways to incorporate structural and aesthetic improvements along the way. As the project transitioned to Phase 3, Steve communicated timelines and offered recommendations to LifeDeck to ensure a seamless transition and a top-​notch end-​to-​end product.
Not to be forgotten, Steve’s crew is great. Prompt, respectful and talented come to mind. Each task was approached w/​a smile… no seriously, there were literally grins while (Matt in particular) cutting and placing stones w/​creative authority.
We will most definitely call Steve for our next project and you should too.

I recently ordered a cable kit from San Diego Cable Railings to install a 30′ fence in my backyard. The kit was delivered in a very timely manner and much to my surprise was very easy to install. The specifications were right on and the service was great. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company, as well as use them on any future project.

Steve Sherritt and his team installed two steel cages for my boxing gym. His professionalism and reliability during the course of the job was incredible. The cages were built to hold 20+ heavy bags and are the centerpiece of my business. It was imperative that the project ran smoothly and more importantly, was done correctly.
