San Diego Gas and Carwash – 4S Ranch Shell

They did a good job cleaning my car but they took close to an hour cleaning each car. I even heard a family saying it’s been over an hour and they still didn’t have their car. At least, the cleaning was good :)

I stop by here just to get gas from time to time. There’s always some line during the weekends when everyone seems to be here to get their cars washed and vacuumed. The gas is pretty pricey, hence why I rarely go here. The lady who works the counter in the early mornings is super nice. She’s awesome and helpful. She says hi and bye to every that goes in and out of the little shop. There’s always someone sweeping every time I happen to pass by this location. So the place is fairly clean. And that’s about it. Just another gas station to me.

Descent car wash. They get everything clean. However a couple of issues–
It’s never clear when your car is ready. They need a better system of communicating with the customer.
If you’re getting your car detailed, add about an hour to whatever time they tell you. So if it’s a 75 minute detail, it’s really about 135 minutes. I personally don’t think they are working that entire time either.
You really have to plan your day around coming here because it won’t fit in your schedule.

I stop by here to fill up my work truck all the time, when I’m in the area and never had a problem here! The cashier is nice and the place is really clean all the time. I need to try the car wash some time.

This has got to be the slowest car wash in my life! I arrived just before 5PM to fill my gas tank and get a quick car wash. It’s now 5:24 and I have yet to see my car come out of the tunnel.
When I pulled up to the car wash island, I was greeted by a gal who was more than anxious to help me. As soon as my $ 16.99 «basic» car wash ticket was filled out, she left. I was left to wait another 10 minutes before she came back to vacuum my car. Apparently it was break time by looking at he bag of groceries in her hand. After helping another impatient customer and telling him they were short handed, she told us that the process usually takes 45 minutes!
My car was finally moved to the wash tunnel and apparently it’s getting a hand wash.
I don’t normally come to this location, I usually use the location in Encinitas. I pay $ 6.00 and I’m in and out, usually within 10 minutes. I will NEVER come to this location again! Not all of the patrons in 4S Ranch are independently wealthy. I feel $ 16 is excessive for a basic car wash. I’m a Rideshare driver with «U», and like to return to establishments that treat me fair and give me a good deal on products and services. I probably wash my car 3 – 4 times a week and a business like this could do well to offer discounts and special rates to customers as myself.

I am 4S resident. Customer service needs to improve. When ever I go inside to cashier the manager lady demands hi, and thank u frm me. I’ve seen how she greets white customers. Like Bill Maher wud say «New rule… if customer is non-​white then customer service is by customer not to».

I have been going to this car wash for literally over a decade and have been very happy with the service. However, today I watched my brand new car roll out of the car wash, unmanned, and hit a curb as it came out. This is what stopped my car from rolling, without anyone in it or paying attention to my vehicle. There didn’t seem to be any damage, but I will NEVER come back here again.

So I decided to sign up for this free membership at San Diego Gas and Carwash. Seemed like a cool deal to get discounts on auto needs from gas and various services for loyal usage.
They have locations throughout San Diego, seems like more white collar neighborhoods than anything. Not to say they wouldn’t set up shop elsewhere, but think they can up sell customers in these areas.
I needed an interior detail badly and thought it would be reasonable to come in here due to the membership. When I pulled up, no one was in the vacuum area. Weird because there are typically a slew of guys waiting to vacuum and drive the cars into the wash. Eventually a guy came out to take my car.
I told him I needed an express detail n really needed just the seats and spots done where the mess was. Didn’t need the carpets, dash or doors done. The guy told me they’d do the entire interior for one price. I told him I couldn’t afford it and just needs what I asked for. He said again, carpets doors and dash and a great wash. I said, just the seats shampoo’d please.
He tried again to up sell a higher detail job and I reiterated I only wanted what I asked for. Not difficult to understand. He offered to drop the price on the more expensive job. Still didn’t need or want it.
He finally went to ask the detail guy if he could do what I needed. Really, it doesn’t take that much. Came back and reluctantly wrote up my ticket for what I asked for.

Worse car wash shop! If you want to wait two hours to get your car washed then come here. I repeatedly ask the lady will my car be done in an hour. She ensured me yes. I’ve been waiting two hours for my car to get waxed and it’s still not done. This is not the first time where they have ensured me my car will be ready at certain time. I can understand 10 minutes but over an hour behind is uncalled for. Especially when I see workers just standing around.

45 Minutes to get a car wash and gas prices higher than anywhere else in the area.

Very slow service. I got the platinum service but car was full of dust after the job done. Mats were not washed. Go with the cheapest option. Others are nit worth the money.

This is the worst car wash I’ve ever been to. If I could give it negative stars I would. Sleazy and pushy mexican lady takes your order when you arrive, always very aggressively tries to up-​sell. Then they take literally hours to do a basic wash and carpet cleaning, even when they’re not busy. Last time I was there, my car hadn’t been touched after over an hour had passed. I was so pissed off that I took my keys back and drove off to another car wash place. NEVER going back again!

This is the slowest car wash service I have ever experienced. You had better bring your sleeping bag with you. Easily 1.5 hours for basic car wash at not even rush time.

I was on my way to pick up a friend and I needed to stop for gas. I knew my friend was running behind and I saw that there was a car wash at this gas station. It had been awhile since I had my car washed so I thought why not? I selected the most basic wash since I still had to meet someone. I drove my car up and dropped it off with a man at the hand wash. He was kind and courteous and made sure that I had my keys and personal belongings with me before I went to sit on the patio. What I found most impressive about this car wash was that every single car was thoroughly gone over. Everybody’s been to hand wash where they swipe a towel over your car once and call it a day. At this place every single solitary car received the best service they could offer. The gentleman who wipes down my car, Rudy, did an absolutely fantastic job. He didn’t rush because the car wash closed. He made sure to do right by me and I told him how much I appreciated his help. He was very kind and gracious about the compliment. I definitely got more than what I paid for. For a good wash good prices and attentive detailing, I will definitely be coming back here. Make sure to bring a few dollars for tip because they deserve it.

Giving this car wash a star is being generous to put it simply. This car wash is a complete joke! It’s in a really nice area so you think they would want to make a good name for themselves with the potential client base, but no. Maybe I’m just really picky about my car, or maybe it was a bit too dirty for them, I’m not completely sure. You can see the pictures to see what they thought of as clean. Absolutely absurd. I do have to say that the manager that ran the gas station store was very kind and I did get a refund, but I’ve also now wasted an hour and a half of my day dealing with this nonsense.

The cashier was an asshole! No smile no thank you! Get a job somewhere else if your not happy…

Took car there this morning and waited an hour for standard car wash. It was not very busy when I arrived. Very slow and not great customer service. Car wash was fine, but just too long to wait and they don’t seem to care.

For gas, I don’t usually have to wait too long for an empty pump. It’s definitely more expensive for gas here than other gas stations around Rancho Bernardo/​Carmel Mountain Ranch, but I tend to find myself paying the higher price here because it’s more convenient.
For car washes, if you also get gas, you get 20 cpg off if you get at least a standard wash that same day. I believe they close the car wash around 6PM but I’ve seen them cone off the entrance around 5:30PM. I’ve done both a standard wash and an express exterior wash. My car is definitely cleaner than when it goes in, but they don’t always do a good job wiping down. I’ve seen reviews mentioning their cars getting scratched — luckily I haven’t experienced this myself. I usually wait around 20 minutes for my car for these washes.

I just got home from this place and have to say this is the worst car wash I have ever received. I feel like my car is somehow dirtier now than before I got it washed. My car was sitting in the sun for so long unattended that the water dried on it before they began wiping it down. The interior is identical to when I arrived to get it washed and this whole process ate up an hour of my day off. It was the standard wash and I’m very easy to please but the experience was everything but pleasant. I will never go back and am literally going to wash my car by hand myself right now cause I just paid to get my car held from me for an hour.

Not sure why but this place always has pumps that are out of service or stations that don’t print off receipts! How else are you going to keep track of what you’ve spent to redeem your rewards?! Prices are always more expensive as it is the only gas station in the area. Prices for food and drinks are reasonable but they also have people always trying to convince you to fix your windshields or clear up your headlights! Gas is gas
