San Diego Pet Memorial sincerely cares about families and their pets. Mick Palermo and Catherine Behan are absolutely wonderful in helping our family with our memorials for our deceased four-​legged family members. Each memorial they’ve helped us with have been perfect. Mick and Catherine were both consoling and definitely know how to work with you in paying respect to your loved one in the most dignified manner. There aren’t enough stars that I could give for the tremendous care and assistance received from San Diego Pet Memorial as they are THE BEST!

This is not easy to write since I miss my Rosie. San Diego Pet Memorial Park was generous, kind-​hearted, and loving. Our Rose was cremated and we have a special place in our house for her where she will always be remembered. The grounds here are beautiful, peaceful, and clean. Thank you San Diego Pet Memorial for your love and support.

I would give this place 10 starts if I could! It took me over a year to write this review because it’s a hard feeling to recall my memories of the day my beloved dogs passed away, but I had never forget my good experience with the park.
I lost my dog Yaya at her age of 15. She was cremated at pet memorial and I was heart broken the day I went there to pick her ash. The memorial is nice and clean. A lady work there was very nice. They have a big dog, but the dog was friendly to strangers. I ordered a beautiful urn for Yaya, but there was a mistake on the metal plate due to the printing company’s misunderstanding. They reordered a plate and I was able to get it back within a week.
When I was still in grief of losing Yaya, my other dog, Dong Dong who grown up with Yaya died in an accident and I was shocked and almost collapsed of losing him. It was only about half a year after I lost Yaya. I had an individual cremation service that allowing me to be present when Dong Dong is cremated. There, I met Nick. He was very gentle when making paw prints and he even made an extra one for free. He allowed me to put a lot toys next to Dong Dong which comfort me just by thinking Dong Dong would have his toys with him (I know the thought is very silly).
I wanted to put Yaya and Dong Dong in the same urn since they have been a life time best couple. Nick was able to remove Yaya’s original metal plate, ordered a new one, and put Dong Dong’s plate side by side, and there is no sign of removing the old plate at all. And all these are free of charge!
As I was in deep sadness of losing my dogs, Nick talked to me and told me his life experience about death. It made me feel better by the time walking out there.
All I can say, I hope I would never go there again, but I do really appreciate Nick and their staff’s great service and being understanding and sympathy of one’s loss.

It was very difficult time for us when we lost our Chloe she was very special to us and we love her so so much We will miss her, San Diego Pet memorial was very caring sent nice card their condolences Chloe was brought home in a very nice wooden box with her name engraved on top very special she will rest in peace she is home now in our loving arms highly recommend this place at this very sad time of your life

I have had our beloved pet resting in peace there since 1985, he was my mother’s heart dog!!! She visits him a number of times a year to clean his grave marker and bring him flowers, to put in the flower vase i purchased with his burial spot. My only complaint, which I called in May 2015 about, but no policies have changed, is there are 2 dogs that live on the property and are allowed when no one is there, to roam freely… not a safe policy for visitors …(regardless how friendly you feel your dog is)… the cemetery is open for pet parents to come visit… I took my mother in May to visit on a Sunday, my day off… and one of the dogs was barking at us as we left our vehicle, he kept following us and barking at us. …he made me nervous with my ederly mom with me, so after calling the business number… left detailed message… we got back in my SUV and left. We didn’t get to visit our pet… nobody ever returned my message… days later, I had to call them again about this… today july 4^th, my parents are heading out to try again… i called, spoke with a individual that stated no one was there, but one of the dogs was loose… left unattended. …and this person wouldnt be back for 45 min. This is not a safe policy… Im thinking of having my pet removed to another pet cemetery or cremated and bring him home… I do hope that nothing ever happens btwn these unattended dogs and a visitor… there’s potential civil and criminal situation.
I love my dogs… collies…sweetest dogs… but i would never leave them loose and unattented where people visit like this. NO DOG is 100% predictable.
My only concern with the managements’ policies… therefore a 2 star rating.

This is a difficult post to write as it means that I lost my beloved dog, Kelby. Having said that, San Diego Pet memorial Park, went so far what I would consider above and beyond. They were kind, gentle and so generous to me during this excruciating time. From the first phone call to the picking up of my Kelby, they were amazing. Offering me their deepest sympathies to water, to Kleenex, etc. I sincerely hope that I don’t have to use them again, but having two more fur babies, one of them older, I know I will have to, and it makes the thought a lot easier knowing they are there during my time of need. I drove 40 minutes to use them and I’d go even further knowing what kind of service they provide. I simply can not say enough about them. On top of the cremation, they have a beautiful pet cemetery with grounds that are immaculate and extremely serene. Thank you to everyone there for making this difficult time so much easier. I didn’t have a doubt in my mind that they treated Kelby with love and dignity, as that’s exactly how they treated me! Thank you San Diego Pet Cemetery park.

So this place is that awesome and great that they deserve a second post. The staff here is über friendly and very accommodating. The service to retrieve my pet was pretty fast, they had done a small error on his urn, simple typo, they had put an «N» instead of a «M». They corrected the typo all within a few minutes and I was on my way. I also am very pleased with the fact that they offer military discounts, this was a small but very happy surprise to me on a very sad day. I highly recommend them, and the price and quality of service is less expensive and on par for service of the sorrento valley place. I’m really glad I choose to come here. My boy will be missed. R.i.p. Maxim Boy.

Losing my cat Lola was very hard, so it took me a while to write this review. But I really wanted to, because when you go through something like that, these are the people that you want to work with. They’re lovely and professional and kind and they’re not going to be uncomfortable that you’re crying or upset. This is what they do and they’re very good at it.
This was the second time I’ve gone to them. Six years ago my cat Bupu had to be euthanized at the Emergency Vet on Hotel Circle. I filled out the bare minimum of paperwork for a private cremation, and when San Diego Pet Memorial called me a few days later to say her ashes were ready, I didn’t know what to expect.
The park is just far enough off Miramar Road that you can’t hear the traffic, and it’s very peaceful. There’s a wide lawn with trees and burial markers, stretching very far back, a lot of people have buried pets here.
The receptionist got my name and left to get the ashes, and I looked around at the decorative urns, and I knew I hadn’t requested anything like that, so I didn’t know what they’d look like. Would they be in a plastic bag?
He comes back with a little cedar box with a brass lock and key, and Bupu’s name was engraved on the top. It’s perfect. If anyone had given me a list of options of how I’d want her ashes kept, that would’ve been what I picked. I got weepy all over again, because it was so sad but so nice.
So when Lola was diagnosed with Lymphoma late last year, and I started preparing myself for it, I knew I’d want to go to the same people for her ashes.
One night I called an in-​home euthanasia service, scheduling an appointment for the next day. Then I left to run an errand, and when I got back Lola had passed on her own. She’d just curled up in one of her napping spots and never woke up. Awful, but probably about the most peaceful exit I could’ve hoped for.
Once it sunk in, then reality arrives. It was late at night. I knew I’d take her to the Memorial Park… in 10 hours when they opened up. I honestly didn’t know what to do with her till then. Would it be okay for her to be in the apartment? Did I need to put her in something plastic?
I went to the Memorial Park’s website, wondering if they had, I don’t know, an after-​hours drop off. And they actually have an after-​hours pickup service, but I didn’t know if that’d apply to cats, but I called anyway.
A very nice gentleman (I’m sorry I don’t have anybody’s names, but I believe he’s the owner or one of the owners) answered, and very nicely said they do have after-​hours pickup, but the man who does it was out of town, and it was usually for larger animals. He asked «is it a dog?»
«No, it’s my cat Lola.»
«Is she outside?»
«No, in the living room.»
(Very gently) «She’ll be fine. Just make sure her head is a little higher than her body. Will you be able to bring her in first thing tomorrow?»
I said yes, and I put her in a cardboard box with an old T-​shirt and her last bag of treats under her head. I think she would’ve approved.
The next day I dropped her off, and the woman who had me fill out paperwork was very nice too. It’s not all that expensive, and there’s not a lot of paperwork to deal with. They called me less than two days later and I met the gentleman who’d talked to me that night. They really make it as easy as possible on you, they’re so sympathetic but they stay very professional, so you feel very calm when you’re there.
Her ashes were in a cedar box like Bupu’s, but now they also give you a little clay circle with their footprint pressed into it.
It’s never going to be easy to lose a pet. But having gone through this with two cats now, I really really recommend San Diego Pet Memorial Park for cremations. It’s comforting to know businesses like them exist.

A beautiful and caring resting place for pets and grieving family members. Our family, kids and dogs, found peace in having to say goodbye to our beloved puppy. The care given to our puppy after his departure was better than I would have even been able to ask for. I shutter at the thought of loosing any of our pets but, at their appointed time, I would fully trust the San Diego Pet Memorial family to care for the part of life that stings the most.

I had to bring in my old cat Ginger. She had passed away at home. I brought her in to be cremated. I liked that I was able to bring her in myself. In the past, My cats have had to be euthanized at the vets office… and their’ service would pick up my cat. It was nice that a stranger didn’t have to bring Ginger over. It was better for me.
The people I worked with were professional, easy to work with, quick, kind and efficient. Due to the sad nature of my visit, they made it painless to work with them. I really liked the cemetary.
I have already recommended them two times to friends in need.

My cat passed away on Christmas, and I was referred to San Diego Pet Memorial Park by his doctor at the VCA Mission Valley. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. My experience with them was very positive considering the circumstances. Christine and Tim were kind, patient, understanding and caring. I highly recommend taking your beloved pet there to be taken care of in the most humane way.

My amazing dog Rocky was hit by a car late on a Wednesday. I was of course devistated but San Diego Pet Memorial Park has been the most helpful, kind, and understanding people to deal with. I was able to bring him in first thing Thursday morning without any hassle or problems. He was able to come home in his beautiful (and I do mean, really beautiful) cedar box within a week engraved with his name on top. As I picked him up from Mick, I cried like a baby and through tears and snot bubbles, Mick still shook my hand and managed to get a smile out of me. He was the best person to do buisness with in such an emotional event and I wish I could give them 100 stars. They deserve it. During a tragic time, Pet Memorial is the only place to go and they will treat you and your pets like family. I am so thankful and appreciative to all they have done.

The San Diego Pet Memorial Park truly is the best resting place for your beloved pet. I have not needed to use the services that the park provides myself, but I have spent many afternoons at the park visiting with happy pet owners who have lost their loved ones and who have benefited from the services at this facility.
The beauty of the park is something that you really must see yourself to believe, the grass is always green and there are always flowers around the park for all the animals that get visits every week. It is tucked away from the freeways and noise of San Diego and provides a private and peaceful place to grieve.
The park is a great place to bring your family, it is not uncommon to see little children running around the grounds and playing with the dogs who live at the park. The man who runs the facility is a very kind and understanding person who I have personally seen ease the pain of so many pet owners over the years. If you are not sure where to take your pet who is aging I would encourage you to visit the park and see how beautiful of a resting place for your pets this can be.

After losing two of our beloved dogs within one year, this memorial park went above and beyond. This weekend my wife and I went to pick up our last dog’s remains and we were saddened that it did not have his paw print medallion. Noticing that we had our Florida Gator gear on just like our puppy, the very nice gentleman asked us if he could re-​engrave our cedar box with a Gator emblem. His compassion and professionalism made what is usually a sad process a lot easier. Thank you so much, The Parmley Family.

I lost my best friend chica 3 weeks ago. The people that work here were so compassionate about my needs and wants. Helped me out through everything even when I called late someone still answered the phone and i did not feel rushed at all. I wish I could give more star’s.

I lost my dog suddenly to heart failure six days ago. The VCA in Mission Valley arranged for her to be cremated here. They told me it would take a few weeks. I travel for work and am scheduled to leave this Monday. I was so glad I was able to bring my little angel home myself instead of arranging for a relative to pick her up.
As soon as I entered the office, I was immediately greeted by a happy pittie named Shadow. I was told he has a brother named Chance. Like the dogs in Homeward Bound :) Having Shadow distract me through the entire sign-​out process actually helped me contain myself from unabashedly crying right there in the office. He is such a sweetie! He wasted no time offering me a piece of a paper plate as a gift and then jumping right in my lap. What a charmer!
This is my first experience losing a pet. I thought, for some reason, that I would only receive a little bag for my dog’s cremains. No, I was given a very nice, fresh-​smelling wooden box with her name carved in it. I was taken totally by surprise. I was touched. Thank you, San Diego Pet Memorial Park for making this step in my grieving process as smooth as possible. Thank you for the respect and sympathy in this hard time of mine. Bonita is safe at home again. I genuinely thank you.

San Diego Pet Memorial was incredibly kind and patient. Our dog passed away very suddenly and we were in shock enough that it happened, let alone cognizant enough to think about what to do with his remains. Other services said they’d come get him, but that he’d go into a landfill unless we wanted to pay an astronomical fee for them to «cremate» him, and even then we wouldn’t receive his remains.
San Diego Pet Memorial was very affordable, and they understood that this happened between paychecks. They were willing to take him and do the work, and accept payment later.
It was a huge relief. They were very warm and understanding. They took all the drama out of the arrangements, so my partner and I could focus on healing.

My work does use SDPMP and we’ve never had a problem with em. As far as personal experience… I really like them.
I used them for my individual cremation of my beloved cat Brandy. She came back in a cedar box and had a beautiful photo of her engraved on the box.
Just last week I had called them after hours. I was very upset that I had to put down my dog after finding out she had cancer and would probably not make it until the following day. The compassion and understanding was comforting.
The next day when I dropped off my pet, I got nothing but the same compassion from Catherine. I had changed my mind a few times, but she was very patient. I look forward to having Princess come home soon. One tip that I really appreciate from Catherine. When it came to what I wanted engraved. She suggested something that will make me smile when I see it. I love the workers here

Going through these types of things sucks but we chose to do a cheap cremation of our dog by himself and we got him back with a velvet bag and a paw print on a ceramic pie. Was not expecting that. It was a long process getting the remains but it was worth it. Now we can lay our puppy to rest in our yard.
