Best doctor I have had. period. If you are used to the hustle and bustle of a busy office with many nurses and a rushed feeling you will be pleasantly surprised. Her office is small, no nurses, one receptionist, and the waiting room is never full. She only books a few appointments per day so she can have as much time with her patients as you need. You only talk to her about your issues and she has always been thorough, kind, and validates any concerns you may have. I have never been to a practice like this and I can’t imagine switching doctors. She even notifies me about my insurance updates and told me that I could be going to someone else for cheaper, I have never seen that type of honesty and openness in any doctor. I don’t think I would consider going to any other doctor, her friendly and competent receptionist, new technology for online booking, and genuine demeanor are unlike anything I have ever experienced.

I moved away from this doctor in January after not having any follow up on my mid December blood work. When I asked for a copy of my medical record, I was given part of someone else’s! She did not have my December 2013 results in the file. Prior to this, I contacted her to say my blood sugar was high. The response was: «we don’t worry about it and when it gets very high we give you insulin. She charts incorrectly in the medical records e.g. «pt says the results are lying» I said the results may be inaccurate. When I tried to contact her outside office hours, there was no answering machine and she called me on a cell phone and was shouting down the line at being disturbed. When you contact her by email, she wants you to use a system that only allows you to book an appointment. I did not want an appointment to get a shingles shot when I can go to the pharmacy and have it done at a more convenient time. She does not seem to understand the meaning behind the Hippocratic oath. If you don’t know what to expect from a good doctor, you might be forgiven for thinking that just clicking on dubious links and having nice personality in a
face to face meeting is all that is needed

I almost don’t want to review Dr. Murthy — it’s like I’m giving away a great secret. But really, Dr. Murthy is awesome. She’s very personable and makes you feel at ease right away. She’s mastered the art of being thorough as well as efficient. Never once have I felt like my symptoms were passed over or dismissed. She truly listens to you. Her receptionist is also quite polite and kind. I have found my PPC for as long as I’m in San Diego!
Oh, and +1 for online scheduling. So convenient!

Dr. Murthy is very thorough. She is thoughtful in her approach. Her practice is well run. She offers a modern approach to appointment scheduling and communication. Recently she went above and beyond to help our family get the referral we needed for our son.
