Awesome first Unilocal Elite party!
I’m having a self-​esteem crisis now that I’ve read all the other reviews– I just can’t compete! Everyone’s got it down to a T. Highlights: free bull ride, pole dancing lessons, food and drink, and the BEST company you could ask for!
Loved seeing downtown swarming with cowboy/​cowgirl Unilocalers! Got thrown from the bull twice, but I guess I like those rough rides. Loved the place (and the staff!!), dug the music, had a TON of fun.

Really? How come everyone is raving about this event? They ran out of food in less than an hour!
The stripper pole, mechanical bull and inflatable dolls were fun but I would’ve liked to at least tried the food.
On the one hand, there were 3 bars so it made getting our drinks easy but with no food that just meant I got super wasted. really fast.

Like everybody else, I can barely remember what happened at Thursday night’s Unilocal Elite party. It was legen…(wait for it)…dary! Between the heavy-​handed pours of the great bartenders and the pole dancing lessons from the hottie instructors, to the generally very sexy Unilocal Elite crowd, this was one for the record books. Even the food spread was pretty sweet and, while I only got 1 pass at it, I really enjoyed the teriyaki chicken and sliders. I should have totally gone back for more! The slushy machines didn’t work for most of the evening, but the drinks that came out were pretty tasty anyway, if not a tad too sweet.
The only other time I’ve ridden a mechanical bull was in Rosarito and I can’t remember much else from that and the experience at this party was no different. Aside from the daze of being tossed off hard by the operator, I think I did pretty good. I had a friend claim she was on the bull for like 3 minutes, but we all know that’s impossible. But who cares, that’s how drunk everybody was!
I don’t think this was actually anybody’s real bachelor (ette) party, but damn I hope mine is just as awesome. Perhaps I need to hire Danny as the party planner because he did another awesome job! I suspect there are a lot of people who would prefer the pics and videos of the night’s events never surface. Un-​tag!

MAJOR props to everyone who put this on. Especially Danny. Do you ever sleep!!!
Eats, Libations, and friends. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, a freaking mechanical bull!!! What really hit the spot was the slushie that was upstairs.

Bad Ass.
Rode the mechanical bull and it hurt. Split my hand open on the mechanical Boxing game and that hurt (Real Bad). Watched the pole dancers and that hurt, (wish I was a brass pole). Watched Melanio get thrown into the air and that looked like it hurt. Was accosted by a crazy Unilocaler and it hurt. Gave a «Piggy Back» ride to hot Unilocaler and … well, that didn’t hurt. Was hit by an inflatable doll and that would have hurt if it were real. Tripped on the stairs and that hurt. Left before I wanted too and that hurt the most.
This is what John Mellencamp meant by «Hurts So Good». Now that I know why hurting can be so good, I want to be a cowboy… it hurts sooooo good.
Double Deuce is a tremendous amount of modernized, Hee Haw fun.
I had such a great time I would do it all over again, and that includes bleeding all over the Video Boxing game again.

Hard to believe that this place used to be the Martini Ranch. I think the mechanical bull did a lot to change the atmosphere.
Thanks to Maker’s Mark for holding it down, it’s hard to top a Maker’s and Ginger ESPECIALLY when it’s free.
My GF and I had a blast! We arrived late so that meant that all the food was gone. But I was able to snag 2 mini cheese quesadillas to help soak up the mng’s. The bartender on the first floor was the man. Your crowd control skills are top-​notch my friend.

1. Kinda refreshing to wake up the next morning and not be hung over from a Unilocaler Elite Party the night before. Not that you didn’t do your job, but DD duty called this time, not to mention having to wake up at 6 the next morning. Yes sometimes I can be responsible ;-)
2. I found a new hobby: pole dancing
3. Good times as always with my fun Unilocalers, fun atmosphere, fun drinks, fun costume idea, fun stripper pole, and fun blowup dolls. Thanks Danny!
4. Kinda disappointed with the food, cold and blah. But I won’t complain since it’s free! Didn’t ride the bull b/​c I didn’t want to share everyone else’s butt sweat.

I woke up with a blow up doll on my couch, a sore bum from riding and falling off the mechanical bull twice, super buffed out legs from swirling and whirling on the pole with a real pole dancing teacher, and the reminiscence of Pinky vodka cranberries on my lips.
Yeee haw, my first official Unilocal rager was a great success!

That female blow up doll seriously got a lot of action from Chun & Ron, but which one did she go home with? Lucky girl… lol!

(my thought pre-​event, entering double deuce, throughout the earlier part of the evening as i watched on the screen upstairs).
but THEN, i see the fabulous Jen R in the ring as I come down to escape the madness upstairs. and THEN i find out David G had already riden. a few delicious vodka sodas in, i am suddenly caught up in the moment. and It was the most fun eva! Even though I fell on my head the first time :-O Thank you neck for not breaking… it just isnt my time yet.
Seriously a great time. It’s only 8am the next morning and there are already 14 reviews… you know ppl had a good time when they cant wait to express it.

Food: I know its not always possible, but the buffet spread was a great idea. Puts it all out there and keeps things so much more organized… saves the staff from any Lord of the Flies action. I thought the chicken kabobs were delish as well as mini quesadillas!
Drinks: Pinky Vodka yum yum. The bartenders were cool and efficient. Oh and that frozen sweet tea drink. Hell yes. It was all that was left at the end of the evening and a perfect last beverage.
Mechanical bull: I hope you all rode. it was so much fun.
Music: I dont typically like the country music but I’ve been on a dancing kick and I had a blast up on stage… for a good hour? Thank you to all my dancing partners! Jen R, David G, Toni F, Anton T, Chun P… lets all go dancing again!!! i luv to dance.
Stripper Pole: It was nice to put my weight training to use. I figured if I can do 10 pull-​ups right now I could rock the pole a few times. You probably missed it… Andreena got a few photos… cant wait to see! PS sorry for kicking you in the head Brian K :-|

Danny: Kudos. Major Kudos… thank you for organizing such a fun time. The theme was easy to participate, which is always nice, the staff was so very accommodating, the venue was cool with all the different areas to hang out in. I loved it all.
PS. Blow Up Dolls + Unilocalers + Dancing on stage = a dangerous, but outstanding combination.

Had a great time until my husband went and hurt himself and killed my buzz. Oh well I guess it was his turn since at the last event I sprained my ankle. Really you just can’t take us anywhere.
Highlights for me:
1. Buffet style food: GRREEAAAAT idea. Seriously. Usually at events I get acute anxiety because I know I’m gonna have to hover all over the servers and fight for the smallest nibble. I always feel like a starving child in China being thrown some rice. The buffet also actually had some good alcohol absorbing selections. Everything I had was tasty and satisfying but really want to know… what the hell was that melted mystery slop?
2. Pinky Swear: OMG I could only drink one of these. I ordered a tall and even drank it AFTER I had indulged in the buffet and I was loopy as all get out.
3. Mechanical bull: This provided the supreme entertainment of the night. Who ever was operating this robot creature has a filthy mind and I like it. Like it alot.
4. Service: Although a little overboard in the «HI WHAT’S YOUR NAME? MINE IS BUNNY WELCOME TO DD? HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR VISIT? HAVE FUN. YADA YADA YADA» They were all very nice and the bartenders were accommodating and quick. A special shout out to the employees that treated Todd’s sliced up hand. I know he’s a moron but he’s my moron and thanks for taking good care of him.
5. People: Seeing all my favorite Unilocalers and some new ones such as Rossi and Monique. Fun to see Anton at an Elite event even though as the night progressed so did his libido… on poor unsuspecting females.
Thanks to Danny and to the staff of the Double Deuce. I had a very entertaining evening. Up until the part where Todd cut himself. Doh.

Highlights:
1. Pole Dancing 101 — Bernadette and Melly are PROS !!!
2. 2 Pinky Vodkas and 1 slushy drAnk gave me a good, happy buzz the whole night. =)
3. Mechanical bull — First time is always the most memorable. I have bruises to prove it.
4. Western boxing game thingymajiggers upstairs was pure entertainment. For $ 5, we got a few HARD hits from peeps. Christian G. scored the highest (691), but that’s expected when you’re a born Cowboy!
5. I freaked the pole.
6. Reunited and took /​snap /​snap shots with fellow Unilocalers (Jay, Ron, Christopher, Melly, Vanessa, Brian, Chuck, Anton, Reggie, Joanne, Marisol, Chun, and some super briefly, Garrett, Chrissie, and Vinh at the very end of the night outside. haha)
7. Finally met Em, Cindy who did not recognize me =), Jamie and Sophia (younger version LLs. haha)
8. Blowup doll? Oy! Let’s just say I took 2 showers when I got home.rinse.lather .repeat
9. Danny had a cool get-​up, but didn’t get it at first?! Doh! My mind was thinkin’ western-​related and not so much «bachelor».haha! «Where’s the baby mama?»

WTF Happened.
I got the Maker’s Mark whiskey shakes this morning worse than a 13-​year old masturbating over pictures of Pamela Anderson 10 years ago and Muhammad Ali spilling seed when filling a bird feeder.
Yeah, I’ve got that summer time glow better than using Proactive for that first day of school. I’m exhausted.
My liver is now a majority stockholder in Advil. Thank you Danny!

After tonite’s Unilocal event, I’ve come to 3 realizations:
1) I’M A NATURAL ON THE MECHANICAL BULL
Heck, I should even quit my job so I can become a professional mechanical bull rider. I’m so glad Chris M. convinced me to do this.
2) UnilocalERS CAN GET DOWN TO COUNTRY
Sure, most San Diegans would rather fist pump to electronica or get down-​n-​durrrrrty to hip hop than to line dance to country, but we Unilocalers rocked the stage tonight! Also, the mix of 80’s hair metal, country and top 40’s was awesome and made the night interesting. It was cool busting a move w/​Jamie P, Shayne C and Lisa T.
3) UnilocalERS + BLOW UP DOLLS = NO BUENO!!!
Wow…I think I’m going to have chronic nightmares of Chun P. humping a blow up doll while riding a mechanical bull. Ron C. and Anton T. you guys are also guilty of blow up doll humping, and I have pics to prove it! You’ll be getting my therapist bill in the mail.

Special thanks to Double Deuce and Danny for hosting this event. DD has always been my bar of choice (I’m a closet redneck), and I was stoked to find out that the event was going to be here. The food may not been as gourmet as some of the other places, but those Pinky Swears more than made up for it! In terms of service, DD did a great job w/​super nice bartenders, announcers and bouncers.

For my first time at a Unilocal Elite event, this was great! Decent food (what can I say, I got there early!), good drinks (the Sweet Tea Slushie was great, though my Pinky Swear was just… okay — but at least they were free!), and most importantly, the mechanical bull rides! Watching my fellow Elites take their turn on the bull was entertaining, to say the least.
Plenty of eye candy to be seen here… too bad the pro pole dancers weren’t among them. (Sorry, but it’s true!) I hope that I have enough courage next time to strike up a conversation with the ladies.
Great music, great times, and hey — I even won the raffle! Definitely did not see that coming… anyways, props to Danny and the rest of the Unilocal crew for making this a great event! Looking forward to the next one…
EDIT: I am soo feeling the effects of the bull ride now…

THE MORNING AFTER:
I wake up still half asleep with a blood-​alcohol level that I’m guessing was still around .05 to .07.
Its 800AM, barely in time to get to my job at 8:30AM, as usual for me.
I log into Facebook at 8:43AM to find photos tagged of myself dancing up on stage with a blowup doll.
I vaguely remember riding the Mechnical Bull… my little chinese balls still hurt… YEEHAW!
Damn…I think this really was probably the funnest Unilocal Elite ever!

My butt is killing me because I rode the mechanical bull twice… even though this city slicker doesn’t have the remotest idea of why anyone in their right mind would ride a mechanical bull. Seriously, this yuppie-​wannabe doesn’t know a stirrup from a ten-​gallon hat. It didn’t stop me from getting cozy with a giant metal steer, though.
I also had my fill of wonderful appetizers. I was especially fond of the sliders. Mmmmm… sliders.
There were a bunch of girly dancers who *thought* they owned the stage… until a couple of us decided to stage a drunken takeover. WIN. You’re better off not knowing the inappropriate things done with those inflatable love-​objects.
Other than that, the details of my night at Double Deuce remain blurry. I think that’s the way it was meant to be…
