What an extremely unprofessional agency. I can’t believe how they treated me as an applicant. I can’t imagine how they treat their tenants. I would stay far away from this business.
I applied for an apartment on Friday and called to schedule a viewing. I was told the current tenants were moving over the weekend and that it would be available to see Monday. Neisha Lopez called me again, clearly forgotten we had already spoken but confirmed we would be meeting at 5:30 at the apartment on Monday.
Well I showed up on Monday and your agent didn’t! First of all getting there in the middle of rush hour traffic to be blown off is completely disrespectful. Then left out on the sidewalk outside of SD City Homes for 30mins. Another couple showed up to see the apartment as well. We both tried contacting Neisha and SD City Homes to find that they were closed and no one was answering. No one was even answering the emergency maintenance line. At 6 o’clock when I checked my email. Neisha had emailed me around 5 to say that the apt was rented and that my app would be refunded.
Why didn’t you call previous to our scheduled meeting? Why can’t you get some manners and a little professionalism 101? What an absolute joke! Skip this property management agency.

As a former tenant, I wouldn’t recommend SD City Homes to anyone!
As long as you are a current tenant and pay rent on time, Jean (residential property manager) will treat you nicely come time to drop off the check.
If you request any repair work, they don’t file any paperwork on it, they just tell you okay, and you never get the repair work done, just empty promises.
The homeowner is a slumlord. He claims to have professional knowledge of construction and ventilation monitoring systems on his LinkedIn account, but neglects his own units.
If you choose to rent from this company, document everything and take pictures. Make sure you get receipts for work requests and all payments made because when it comes time to protect yourself from them, don’t give them any chance to screw you.

I’m adding this review as a renter with SD City Homes. Jean has been really great to us. Our rent is month-​to-​month but has never been raised. A freak sprinkler accident flooded our apartment in the middle of the night and they came out and got us back to normal in a reasonable amount of time and cut us a deal on rent that month. We are low-​maintenance renters and don’t ask for much but if we do, they’re good about fixing it in a timely fashion. They allow us to have pets (maybe not true for all their places). They keep the common areas nice. Bottom line — I would recommend them to friends and wouldn’t hesitate to rent with them in the future.
