SD Tap Room

I only have a handful of restaurants I re visit when I’m free to dine out and TapRoom is at the top of the list! They’re one of the only local places that serves food late (11pm weeknights 12am weekends!!!). Taproom in consistent, and they have a VARITY of both good food and beer.
No where else can you serve both your healthy and or munchies appetite together.
My favorites include: Flat Iron Steak sub (w/​Portobello mushrooms YUM!). Or make any of their salads into a wrap! So good.
Not to mention the staff there is amazinggg!!! It’s so great to see a restaurant in PB which functions at the level Taproom does, which is obviously only possible because of their incredible staff and representation. Everytime I visit here there’s always something different taking place, in the form of advancing the environment or menu to make the place as convenient and comfortable for customers.

Great plate for craft beers and not far from the beach also. I walked here from my hotel at Pacific View Inn on a Sunday which was only a few blocks away. I didn’t get a chance to try their food but they have some good selections for beers. They are served in pint glasses so you won’t really find any crazy high ABV beers here even though it is SD. Food looks really good though.

Cool, laid back gastropub in PB! They carry many local beers from Belching Beaver, Green Flash, & so many more. Televisions playing sporting events & shows.

Amazing beer selection. can order in 3 oz 8 oz and pitchers… great for sampling tons of beers in affordable way.

Was here last night and here I am again today. Tom recommend a great beer for me and I’m getting great service again. I posted I was here on Facebook and it got liked by them 10 minutes later. I’ve never had that happen before. Haha They are on their A Game social media wise too. 5 Stars no doubt.

Top Room is a really good choice for a couple of friends to watch sports, and they DO take reservations which is very nice, but you’d better to come on time or early if you have a big group.
They have plenty kinds of beer and the food is also awesome. We ordered chicken wings, which I think is just OK, but I do love their flat iron steak sandwich, and the steak is tender and juicy.
The service is also quick when I visited on a busy Sunday afternoon for an NBA final game.

I love this bar!!! With such a huge selection of beer, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten the same one twice!!! I love the atmosphere here too! It’s more of a crowd of beer drinkers who drink beer on purpose, no club-​type goers. The best part, they’re dog friendly!!! It’s nice and open in there with huge tables! Beer, food and dogs; do you need more?!

Great pizza and salads! Pizza was cooked with a perfect crisp crust. BBQ chicken salad was cold and fresh. Loved the dressing. Downside-​Service was very slow. But food was awesome!

This will probably sound weird, but this place had really good water. Yes, water. It was cold and super clean, I don’t know if it’s because it’s a tap room… sometimes restaurant water can be lukewarm and taste like soap.
The fries are a must. They’re medium thickness and have a very crunchy outside. A half-​order was sufficient for two people. The fries are little pieces of deep fried Heaven!

A couple co-​workers raved about this place and their pizza so i took the family out to join these co-​workers for a night out. There is plenty of parking within a block radius if you want to pay $ 5 for 2 hours or an extra $ 2 for a full 8 hours.
We got there and a few of them already got a table for 12. The joint is pretty PB-​ish with the bar in the center of the shop and TV’s galor. The bathroom was pretty clean. The help were very attentative.
We started with 2 appetizers: bread knots (forgot what they were called) and the sculpin chili. Chili was the bomb! With my appetizer i had a glass of grigio and the wife had a porter.
I ordered the deluxe pizza cause that was recommended and the wife ordered the calzone. Pizza was a 2 out of 5 and wife gave the calzone 2 out of 5. The cheese in the calzone was on one side of the calzone while the meat stuffing was on the other side. You couldnt take one bite and get all the filling. That sucked. The pizza was ok. The deluxe had more vegetables than meat.
I probably wouldnt come back here by choice. Only if friends came.

Awesome beers, great food and service, lots of TVs. This is the place that would eventually change the landscape of PB — less fist pumping, more chilling and relaxing.

We like this place for breakfast. It has great food and the prices are reasonable. Amazing bloody Mary’s. The hours say they open at 11a.m. Odd, both times I’ve been there for breakfast, we went in before 11. GIVE IT A TRY!

I love this place! I have never had anything here that I did not like! Service is always amazing and friendly! They have amazing pizza, fish tacos, buffalo fries! Seriously you can’t go wrong.

This place was PRETTY awesome! The service was great, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere is awesome.

This place was pretty cool! They say us quickly and they had some great specials for the 90’s bar crawl my friends and I were attending. The atmosphere was very good with all the games on and people looked like they were having fun.
The food was very good! We got the chicken strips and they were phenomenal. We also got the Mac and cheese and it was something different but in a very good way. We also got a pizza that had bacon and mashed potatoes on it. I can definitely say that I will be getting that again next time I go.

Super friendly and lifted my spirits after a hefty vet visit. They even treated my pooch with 5 star customer service. Danielle was my server and she was super sweet and recommended the awesome lunch special which I had to take home most of. Great deal and cool atmosphere.

This is an cool place for happy hour in PB. $ 2 off all drafts (tons of local beers to choose from) also $ 2 off all apps, wines, and cocktails. Food is good for pub food. Chicken parm is always a good choice here. Service today was very friendly. Craig the bahtendah from Boston is a wicked awesome!

Our experience was a little less than stellar. We were wandering PB and stopped in for a drink or 2. The waitress was rather pushy about getting us to order drinks, and came back a few times asking what else we wanted. The restaurant wasn’t full, so I don’t understand what the problem was with us taking our time. We ended up just taking the check so we could get out of her way…
We split 2 flights of 6 beers. We didn’t care for most of the beers on there… only 2 or 3 out of 12 were acceptable by the group.

Pros: the food was delicious and the portion sizes are gigantic. The french fries in particular are tasty. I had the regular ones and my girlfriend had the sweet potato and they were both fantastic. The beer list really lives up to the name too.
Cons: the food and the appetizer took forever to arrive. There’s no reason why garlic knots should need 30 minutes to be served after being ordered. The waiter also brought my beer to me before any of the appetizers or food has arrived against my express directions to bring me the beer together with the entrée
Verdict: great food, good ambience, mediocre service. Worth coming to again for the food alone. If the service had been better this would be a 5 star.
Special note: unlike most of the pubs in Pacific Beach, this one actually accepts reservations in advance. Take advantage of that fact on Saturday night or Friday

I love Tap Room! I come here pretty often because they have a pretty large selection of alcoholic beverages (a ton of different beer), serve an array of food options, fun vibes, and a great atmosphere.
I love that the Tap Room has beer flights as well. I’ve tried their tacos, pasta, hamburger, and sandwich and they are all great! They have great appetizers, pizza, salad, you name it.
Tap Room is pretty large, but on game days it’s normally packed! Probably because of all of the TVs… so get there early.
I recommend Tap Room if you’re looking for a casual restaurant/​sports bar in Pacific Beach with great food and beer selection.

Review for delivery — Fish Tacos
While relaxing at Barrel Republic they gave me a menu for the Taproom. Ordered two of the mahi fish tacos which came with seasoned tortilla chips.
Good size tacos which came with cabbage, chipotle aioli, and avocado on flour tortillas. My wife prefers corn tortillas with her fish tacos but commented on how she enjoyed these. Plenty of fish on the tacos which was great! Look forward to checking this place out in the future.

I go here 2 to 3 times a week for lunch or dinner. Everything is good and consistently so. You can get any of the sandwiches as wraps and the tortillas are good. Santa fe and chicken focaccia are both bomb as wraps. Fries are surprisingly good and crispy battered. Pizza choices are good too. The tap list is always rotating and always long and interesting with new craft brews as well as great go to’s. No wonder this is one of the only places on garnet that hasn’t gone out of business in the last few years.
The staff is always nice, music is always playing, the vibe is always chill, and there’s tons of tvs with sports on. The patio seating is limited but empty during most days for killer people watching right on the sidewalk.
Oh and they deliver. They even deliver to barrel republic next door, the other best tap room in town.
So solid.

Amazing ass food and amazing ass service! Fed us quick and urge us to leave after, in fact encouraged us to stay for the game!

Everything about this place was great. The food (wings, beer soakers, burgers and Santa Fe pasta) the drinks (margarita, cherry bomb cider, sculpin sunrise) and definitely our server T who was super pleasant and patient with our high maintenance orders lol. This place is a must try if you’re visiting PB or live any where near the area. They have $ 3 off burgers on Mondays and $ 2 off drinks and apps during happy hour. Definitely will be back. Thanks T!

We just stopped in because the place looked busy but we soon realised people must cone here for the beer, not the food.
Myself and my friend got the half sub half salad deal. Her grilled cheese was dripping with fat and glued to the plate with whatever cheese they used. My sub was what i can only describe as the arse of a French baguette and my salad had rubber chicken and was full of stalk.
Not for us and we won’t be back especially when there’s so many nice places to eat just a few steps away.

Been wanting to visit this place everytime I’m in the area and finally I was able to. Went for dinner before hitting the bars on a Saturday night. Surprisingly for a weekend night it wasn’t too crowded and there’s no line when we get there. Pretty chill place to hang out and enjoy some decent grubs. We had their famous beer cheese fries which I wasn’t too crazy about. Then calamari and salad pizza. Their drink selection is too long for someone who only likes a cold glass of shocktop. I’ll probably stop by again when I’m in the area.

SD Tap Room has the best fries in SD. The burgers are awesome and they obviously have an awesome selection of beer. They have a great happy hour, $ 2 off drinks and appetizers. The Tap Room is already very affordable and happy hour prices are even better. Our waiter Jeff was super accommodating and such a nice guy! He had great advice about all the beer on tap. I’ll definitely be going back to SD Tap Room.

This is my second review of this place. I believe my first one was honest and also pretty good.
I came here on New Year’s with a decent hangover so this review is somewhat fuzzier than the last one.
I got the Caesar salad with chicken and it did well enough. The fries were much better than the salad obviously. I think the salad dressing was a little too watery and the chicken was it cut up enough. A salad is supposed to take about 50 bites so don’t give me eight big pieces of chicken, duh.
anyway, I place was good as always, I’ll be back

I cant believe it took me so long to come here! After having a horrible experience at a previous place (Shoreclub), I was still hungry and my boyfriend and I decided to stop at SD taproom to fulfill our unsatisfied stomachs and thirst! I started with the margarita, which was made from scratch, fresh, delicious! (I ended up ordering like 4 more 0₀) My boyfriend ordered several beers and was very happy with each selection! (they have tons of craft beers on tap!)
The service was great, our server was friendly and attentive. The environment was also great, not your typical college drunk scene in PB, I think because its at the farther end of Garnet
The décor of the restaurant was cute as well and filled with TV’s if you like sports & beer.
Also BEST hummus plate I have ever had!

I’m not crazy about the beers on tap, but that is because I feel they lack on stouts and reds. They have a wide variety on tap so I’m sure you can find something you’ll like. I always get the pizza, it is simply amazing.
The staff are all very friendly and attentive. There are plenty of tv’s and it is a very chilled atmosphere.

Had the Ahi salad and the chips and guacamole. Guac was freshly made and delicious. The ahi was seared with a sesame seed crust. Tap list was extensive and food was fast.
A lot of tvs and a multitude of football teams represented, but none were overly obnoxious. Great atmosphere and a very aesthetic wait staff.

ATTENTION $ 2 PIZZA SLICES!!! San Diego Tap Room has exquisite pizza. Walk all the way to the back and you’ll be dazzled by large pizza slices and amazing selections to choose from! I came here with my boyfriend after being told about their $ 2 pizza slices. Worth every penny. Large slices, piping hot, thin crust pizza! We ordered four slices: tomato basil, cheese, and combination. Can’t wait to try their pretzels next!

That being said, the food was enjoyable.
–Calamari: decent, but would not order again.
–Beer Cheese Fries: Great, but could have used more fries for the cost.
–Lobster Mac: Very Tasty.

Pizza is ALWAYS bomb. They have slices on deck — ready to get finished in the oven and topped with fresh herbs. I go here frequently and Haven’t tried anything else because the pizza is so good.
Beer selection is excellent. It’s nice how they’re heavy into the local brews. And offer every kind of beer you can look for — Light, dark, hoppy, malty, or sour. They gotchu!

This was my first time eating at Tap Room and I ordered in.
Delivery service was quick and efficient and the employee was very nice.
I got chicken tortellini, a side Caesar salad and a side of fries.
All were excellent except the dressing on the salad tasted a little too mayonnaise based.
Otherwise, two thumbs up !

So this was on Saturday night. My friend’s son had Prom and the kids wanted a rented suite at Hilton resort in Mission Bay. Had to make sure they were all settled before heading out to dinner. Wanted something good to eat late night and nearby. Decided to Unilocal it and saw great photos and reviews of this place.
We showed up right before kitchen closed. My friend ordered a pizza cookie, it came a la mode. That was one yummy cookie. The three of us ordered angus burgers. Lemme tell you that these burgers were delicious. Friends had cheese on theirs, I got bacon. Those fries were awesome. Hafta come back for these burgers.
On to the libations. I’ve been really into fruit beers and sours. I ordered a fruitesse, it was so good my friend’s hubby ordered one too. My friend ordered the Cali Creamin, had a great nutty taste and vanilla finish. I like that the vanilla taste is what lingered.
My only problem was what the server did at the end of service. Everything was awesome up to the very end. You lost 1 star because of this. So I paid cash and my friend’s hubby used a card. Why did the server say to tip on the whole amount and not just the remainder of the bill on the card. Well, no s*** Sherlock. That was super freaking tacky. One of the managers needs to keep this in check or I’ll be spreading the word to not bring your business to this company. It did leave a sour taste in my mouth. Not sure that I’ll be back as there are many more businesses in PB.

SD TapRoom holds a special place in my heart (I’m so sappy…) as I came here for a first date way back when (still going strong). It was packed because there was a SDSU game that night but we were able to get a ‘table’ by the outdoor area right next to the street. However, we were stuck standing for awhile until some people left and we grabbed their seats. We only had to stand for the time we were waiting for our food — glad we sat in time for our food!
He ordered one of the burgers and I got the beer mac & cheese. Both were yummy — I left the place so fat and full, mmmm. Good selection of local beers too. I believe I got the Alesmith Nut Brown that night.
I didn’t have the chance to check out any of the art, but I did notice a big l.a.b. sign. I will have to come back someday to get the full experience! Art, beer and good food is all I ever need.
Fun environment — I guess it helped that it was game night and I had good company! Great place to grab some food before doing a PB bar crawl. Can’t wait to visit again for more yummy food.

After getting my nails done, Cam was going to walk over to the nail salon and we were going to get phở across the street. However, since he was still waiting on his car, we decided to walk down Garnet Ave. and eat at the place that we met up. This ended up being SD TapRoom. It’s right next to Barrel Republic and has just as much beer.
It’s definitely a sports bar as there are ample TVs all around with various games playing. Since it was 3pm in the afternoon, there was not much of a crowd and we were immediately seated at a booth by the hostess. I ordered a glass of wine and Cam ordered a beer. They have an extensive beer list and a handful of wines.
Emy: Apple Walnut Salad with Chicken. I was shocked at how much chicken was included with this salad. There was also a ton of apples, walnuts, and cranberries. The only downside was that there was not too much lettuce to go with all the toppings. I ended up not eating about half of the toppings with the lettuce. The only complaint about my meal was that the chicken was very dry and not very enjoyable to eat. I gave Cam a few pieces for his pasta, but even that was too much.
Cam: Penne Vodka with Chicken. The sauce that came with this dish was not very tasty. I added some red pepper flakes and it spiced up the dish very nicely. It could have probably used some salt and pepper as well, but Cam enjoyed it regardless. I think that the same chicken on my salad was the same type of chicken in the pasta, but the pasta sauce allowed the chicken to moisten up a bit and was more edible.
Although I’m trying to be healthy, I couldn’t resist asking for a small order of fries. Unfortunately for me (and my wallet), they brought out a gigantic plate of fries. We ate a handful and took the rest home. This would have been a great side dish to share with a table of friends and some drinks. Between just Cam and myself, it was too much.
Overall, Cam and I will probably go here again. It seems like a nice place for drinks, but I can see it getting very crowded.

So I finally got to try their pizzas, it turned out that it was a disappointment. Toppings were okay, but the dough was soggy and super greasy! Ewww
My advice is… come here for drinks only, but not the food!
