Serenity Spa and Salon

My daughter got her hair done here last week and wont stop raving about it. The women who work here are nothing but professional and helpful. The best part was I was able to get a beer while I waited, I do not understand all the people on here complaining about there not being a happy hour at the hair salon… the salon is in the hotel lobby right next to a full bar that has great drinks and prices! 5 stars and we will be back!

I think I would pretty much avoid going here. All positive reviews on Unilocal about it are prior to their «new ownership» beginning 7 months ago. From what I’ve seen, they have none of the same things that made them great previously. There is no longer a happy hour offering great prices with a free drink, and all regular service prices were raised by 20 — 60% over their only advertised cost that they will inform you is wrong. Unfortunately, their website, social media and connecting pages from Hilton Garden and Homewood Suites are not updated and in the case of the site, not available since their change in ownership.
Being that there is a massive undocumented price hike, confusion from the staff on the services that are offered on their only available menu, no up-​to-​date menu, and a seemingly incapable new set of managerial staff, I would not trust that the quality of service either. Sad that I arranged to stay at the hotel based on the awesome spa that doesn’t actually exist any more, but I will still have a nice time at the hotel I hope. Truly saddened that they made a change because I planned on becoming a regular because of all the great deals and wonderful reviews which are no longer applicable. Goes to show keeping a name doesn’t mean the business is even half what it was.

This salon, and everyone that works there is absolutely amazing! I had such a good experience getting my hair done there, just a few days ago. I walked in and was greeted by Amanda. She is such a sweetheart and super friendly!
The atmosphere, as well as staff are very warm and welcoming.
Janet was my stylist. She used Eufora products that are super healthy for you. They’re plant based, have no harsh chemicals and smell incredible! !
Since the salon just went through a completely new rejuvenation, I only got my hair done. I am super excited to get a pedi on my next visit.
If you are looking for a top quality salon, with excellent prices, that offers massages, hair, nails, and facials, then you are absolutely in the right place!

This is my first time here and it was an excellent experience! I live in Solana Beach but work in Sorrento Valley and for years have gotten my hair done in Del Mar. I finally decided it was time to look for a solan closer to work (because who doesn’t enjoy a lunch time blow out or getting a highlight before battling traffic home) and I stumbled upon the perfect place! The girls who work there are so nice and attentive. My highlights look so natural and the products they use left my hair feeling incredibly smooth! This was my first time using Euphoria shampoo and conditioner, which is all natural and plant based, so of course I could not leave without buying some for myself! I will be the first to admit I can be picky when it comes to getting my hair done but I will definitely be back! Also an added bonus it is inside the Hilton Gardens Hotel where they have the perfect bar to have an after hair appointment martini! Cheers!

Received an email last week from the Hilton Management saying that spa is temporarily closed for renovation and will reopen this summer. Anyone who has gift certificates can redeemed them for hotel stay (s) — huh! I would expect a total refund or honor of certificates when the spa reopens. Management I hope you are listening, sure I am not the only one with certificates for SPA SERVICES.

This place is a hidden gem, small but it’s son peaceful. They have great prices and love the fact you can order appetizers and drinks while you wait. I love their steam room and you even have access to the spa. They also have hair, and nail services! Love this place I don’t go anywhere else.

Love this place. It has an intimate vibe since the space is small. I highly recommend getting on the mailing list or liking it on Facebook so you can see when they’re running specials.
I always enjoy using the steam room before my massages/​facials. Unfortunately, on my latest visit the steam room wasn’t working and that information would have made me rethink my plan. I thought that the staff could have let me know in advance, especially since I made my appointment the day of and got there early to use it. My massage by Carol was amazing though and I’ll be back.

I’m updating my review and lowering the rating from five stars to two stars.
1: they do not have the happy hour anymore. So disappointed that they took away this deal.
2: I have called a few months back to schedule some treatments for a few friends of mine. The girl who took my call seemed impatient with trying to book the appointment. (I called four days in advance by the way) She said she’ll call me back soon to let me know if the times I requested for were possible. She never called back. So I called the next day asking about it and she said she’ll get back to me again. She never did! I called and left a message and no one called me back to confirm or reschedule. I am so upset with this interaction and lack of respect. They could have just easily told me that they had no appointment available and I could have requested for a different date.
I understand that they are under new management but there is no excuse for not returning a phone call.

Was very pleased with the spa service. Attendants were very friendly and warm. The lounge was relaxing and peaceful. The only part I was not 100% happy about was when I got a shampoo and blow dry. I had to ask to get shampoo then she didn’t even put any hair products when blow drying. I had to ask for something to be put on my hair for the humidity when she was done. Overall the place was really good. I would recommend their spa service for massage and the fire and ice body treatment.

This place is a total find! I was randomly staying at home wood suites in Torrey Hills and this spa is right next door! I was looking for a last minutes massage and saw this place– it was close and had great reviews… So thought I’d give it a try! It’s gorgeous inside, not what I expected… They ran a special in oct– any 50 minute Swedish or deep tissue massage with aromatherapy for $ 50! What a deal! My therapist was Carol, and she was amazing! Great pressure and speed of massage– was very relaxed the entire time. I wish I had time for an 80 minute, but I’ll be back. They also do a happy hour 3 – 6 tues-​fri with 25 minute treatment options! I will def be checking that out. Thank you serenity spa for such a great massage!

I did a Birthday Spa Day with my mom and found this spot via Unilocal.The pricing was a good value and the services were fantastic. Frankie (at the front desk) was incredibly helpful in tailoring the services my mom and I wanted (even a few things that weren’t listed yet) and timing it out to ensure we had a relaxing and enjoyable day — the manager even threw in lunch for us for free! I couldn’t have been happier with the services and time spent relaxing with my mom. Thanks again, ladies!

This place is really a gem! I had followed Paula (hairdresser) from another location because she’s awesome! She really LISTENS to you and doesn’t cut your hair the way SHE WANTS IT BUT LISTENS TO WHAT YOU WANT. Having Paula be in a spa/​salon was a BONUS but I wasn’t looking for a spa perse. The pedicures and manicures are AWESOME! They know how to do it right, sterilizing, using the right nail polishes, products for your pedi/manicure…they take the time and they use all top notch products. No more will I go to the «shopping center» pedi/​manicure corral! And the cost of a mani and/​or pedi at Serenity is ON PAR with any cost that you would find at a ‘get them in, them out spa.” They also have this FANTASTIC Happy Hour Special at Serenity which can include your choices of pedi, manicure, eyebrow wax, facial, massage etc., and a cocktail! So on any given hair appointment, I’m getting an eyebrow wax or pedicure WHILE getting my hair done and drinking a delicious cocktail! And it’s VERY REASONABLE! Paula has been my hairdresser for the past 6 years, and I’ll follow her anywhere. Going to see her at Serenity Spa and now getting all the other treatments is such a WONDERFUL BONUS!!! Check them out for yourself!

An amazing find in the middle of Torrey Hills — attached to the Hilton Garden Inn. The staff here is wonderful and the facility will surprise you: beautiful and spacious. The spa prices are absolutely the lowest in the county, and they frequently have even more incredible specials (sign up for the email list!!)
I’ve had countless massages here and I have never been disappointed!

Came here for their Happy Hour package which is an incredible deal! Did two treatments for $ 50 (options are 1 for $ 35, 2 for $ 50, or 3 for $ 85 PLUS a drink) after work. Two 25 minute treatments plus a drink for $ 50? Are you kidding me? Awesome! My two treatment choices were the facial and reflexology.
I wasn’t sure what to expect since the spa is part of the Hilton Garden Inn (random), but once you come indoors it feels like any other spa. I changed into my robe and slippers and felt my stress melt away during my facial treatment. It included a nice neck and shoulder massage which was so relaxing.
I waited in the lounge area after my facial sipping wine and flipping through magazines for about 10 minutes before the reflexology treatment and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The reflexology treatment was basically the foot massage part of a pedicure on crack. We started off in the pedicure chair with a quick foot soak before moving into an incredible foot massage. As I sat there having my poor little piggies rubbed I was making a list of all the people I needed to bring back with me to join me for a little spa day.
This place is great. Its right near my office, has great prices, a nice clean facility, and friendly staff. If you’re looking for a little relaxation or pick-​me-​up after work, you have to check this place out for happy hour! (4−7pm tues — friday)

This is only my second facial experience and my husbands first. We both really enjoyed them and are considering making facials a regular part of our life because of them. We stayed at the hotel that this spa is built inside of, The Hilton Garden Inn, and decided when we arrived that we would get facials since we were taking a relaxing vacation. We called downstairs as soon as we got into the room, and they had appointments still available for the next day. They did not have anything for the both of us at the same time, but they were able to get us one right after the other.
Our appointments were at 10 and 10:30 in the morning and were told to arrive 15 minutes in advance to fill out some questions regarding our skin. Since my husband went first, I was able to check out the steam room and relax a bit before my facial. I love that the locker room was private and that I was the only other person in the room at the time. I spent about 10 minutes in the steam room and it was a great experience. I felt very relaxed after that. While you are waiting for your appointment you can sit in the waiting room and they have some water and magazines and soothing music playing. My husband came in after his facial with a big smile on his face. I would say he was pleased with the experience. Next it was my turn. For the life of me I can not remember the lady’s name who did both of our facials but she was very good.
We both received the express facials, which were 30 minutes long. For the most part it was very relaxing. The only parts I was surprised by were the pore extraction I was not expecting. My nose was sore the rest of the day but at least it was clean. I was also not expecting the mini massage I received, and I could have actually done without it. I have very sensitive muscles and was sore for the next three days after the massage because of how rough she was while working on my shoulders. In the future I will probably ask before I have any facials done to avoid this kind of thing from happening again. Other than that it was a great experience. My skin was glowing for the entire rest of the day, I didn’t even put on make up my skin looked so good, and the day after.
I feel that given the price of most facials that this one was a pretty good deal. $ 45 for each of our 30 minute facials. I would come back again if I ever stay at this hotel again, or even if I am in the area. I would love to check out some of their other facial options.

I’m actually in shock I haven’t reviewed this place yet! It’s hands down my favorite spa of San Diego and I’m a bit of a spa snob! I found this place through spa week a few years ago and go every 2 months.
First, yes its a little odd that its within the HIlton Garden Inn but once you step through the spa doors you would have no idea. The ambiance is fantastic, very relaxing. They give you a key and show you the woman’s locker room. You get a locker with a robe, towels and flip flops. They offer a steam room and a shower plus other amenities. You wait in the quiet waiting area and read magazines while sipping on yummy citrus water.
Cheryl was the therapist I was assigned my first time around. I LOVE HER. Such an awesome person and gives a killer massage! She really listens to you and cares about your trouble spots. I only go to Cheryl now. She has become a friend now! I always get the 80 min aromatherapy massage and she always remembers what I like and dislike. I have recommended Cheryl to a ton of people, and they have all loved her!
The rooms are serene and dark (how i like them) and quiet.
At the front desk, I mostly deal with Jessica. My second time there I actually had a mistake happen and wasn’t informed that Cheryl had gone home sick. They had another therapist greet me and I wasn’t happy about them not informing me. They took responsibility and made it up to me. Now i don’t even have to request Cheryl, I automatically get her every time! Jessica is very pleasant and friendly. They always call to remind me about my appointments which I appreciate.
I always recommend Serenity to anyone who is looking for an awesome massage!

There’s only a few spas in SD that have a steam room. This is one of them.
I love the steam room. It relieves so much tension. Your worries seem to just melt away.
I had a swedish massage w/​reflexology with Cheryl today. She made me melt. It was so relaxing, I actually fell asleep.
Will be coming back soon.

From the outside, it doesn’t look like much, but once you enter the spa you automatically feel pampered, mellow, and relaxed.
Used a groupon for a massage plus scrub (1.5 hours worth of service) and had an excellent experience. To top it off, a glass of champagne before the whole process hit the spot!
Their amenities weren’t the most elaborate, but I had everything I needed, including a sauna and excellent, friendly service. I would go back!

A friend and I bought a massage and body scrub through Groupon for this place. We had to make appointments about 1 month in advance. The location was hard to find as it was connected to the Hilton Garden Inn and I could not find the entrance to the spa.
We arrived about 15 minutes late (mainly because of the difficulty of finding the place) The location was nice. The lobby is a rather small hair salon but the back waiting room area is very nice. The locker room was also nice.
However, the service was awful. Firstly, we were told we could not get a full hour massage because we were late. I understood the issue, so I got about a 40 minute massage. I cannot remember the masseuse’s name but it was the worst massage I’ve ever received. She applied way too much pressure and I was not relaxed at all. She kept talking and could not get the hint that I did not want to chat.
After the massage, she led me to the waiting room and told me I would get my scrub after my friend was done with hers. So I waited, and waited, and waited. 30 minutes later and still nothing. I finally asked the receptionist and she told me that the person who was suppose to do my scrub did not come in so they were short-​staffed and I had to wait for my scrub. She said someone should have told you, but no one did. So I was punished for being late but I had to wait around 35 minutes because they were short-​staffed. I didn’t even get an apology. LAME.
Finally after waiting around for about 40 minutes, I finally got the body scrub which was nice but felt rushed. My friend had to wait around for 30 minutes for the scrub to finish.
My friend and I later discussed the massages and she said hers was just ok, not what you want out of a massage. Also, she did not even get the body scrub, instead she got an hour plus massage because we were late.
All in all, I will never return.

The location is small, clean, beautiful, and tranquil. Was surprised about it’s location, never knew it existed.
Started with the body scrub first, then the massage, and then I hung out in the steam room. It’s like a super fancy spa but a lot smaller.
Everything is great about it, and have told friends.
