Serra Mesa Laundry & Cleaners

I’ve been to a couple crappy laundromats in college, but nonetheless did the job. This place is 10x better than those in college. It’s clean, smells wonderful, and is decorated?! This review is written around the holidays and poinsettias are everywhere, including a little clothing line of tiny clothes under the clock. So cute!
There’s a change machine for dollars next to a vending machine for snacks and laundry items. Also, there are 2 televisions to keep you busy. If you get hungry, Bear Buns bakery is next door! Convenient parking on the street. Will definitely come here again to wash my large blankets (:

I love this little laundromat, it’s so clean and neat! I especially love the charming little outside area, it’s so relaxing and peaceful, the absolute perfect area to hang out while you wait for your laundry.

I took two more skirts back, and this time they were returned to me on real skirt hangers! Very pleased, perhaps someone brought the pins to their attention. Impeccable work, also, I didn’t realize my old black skirt could look so nice!

Best place to do laundry. Love the TVs and wifi. Very much appreciative of doing laundry and homework all at the same time.

The best laundromat I’ve ever been to! Very very clean and lots of carts and amenities like vending machines and a scrubbing sink. Tina is amazing! Ask her for anything if you need help or even soap. She lent me some once when I ran out and attempted to buy more from the machine — she wouldn’t let me and insisted I use hers! Such a sweetie.
Also, the coffee shop next door has great coffee — a bit pricey like Starbucks (but better coffee for about the same $).

Tina is super awesome and friendly. We come pretty far to do our laundry here but the machines are well maintained, place clean, and nice TVs. The wifi is also fast and everything is great. I’m guessing Tina is the owner, she was super nice and helpful.
Only drawback is the asshole smokers outside. The doors are open so the place fills up with smoke. Haven’t found a laundromat in San Diego without the smoke problem.

Had to get my laundry done since our washer shit the bed, I am glad I found this place! They are very reasonably priced and did a great job cleaning and folding my clothes. Even when the washer gets fixed, I am still gonna take my clothes over there.

After looking at another laundromat closer to my home I saw the reviews here and decided it was a better option. I was not disappointed. Probably the cleanest laundromat I’ve ever used. It has a lot of windows and I counted 10 security cameras in the building. There is a nice sitting area outside and it even has free wifi.
The big washers (think large blankets or comforters) are reasonably priced and dryers are .25 cents for 7 minutes or 5 minutes of your using the massive dryers. Looks like it will hold 3 – 5 loads of laundry. I will definitely be coming back.

This place is amazing! Everyone here who said anything negative, must have had a bad day! Tina and Scott do a great job running this place. It’s well kept, there are various sized washers to accommodate your needs, and they run the location themselves. They’re both in and out making sure the place is clean, and that the change dispenser is working and even take the time to decorate the place to coincide with holidays/​seasons.
Yes, you have to pay for the bathroom, but it’s only $ 0.25 — One time when I was there, a homeless individual camped out and wouldn’t leave the restroom and paying laundromat customers weren’t able to use it.
This place is 5 miles away from where I live, but I make the drive just to come here. I’ve been doing laundry here for 2 years now and will continue even if I do get a place with a washer/​dryer. (For comforters only at that point)
Tina and Scott will continue to have my long term business because they’re great people, and they run a great business! I recommend all people to come here too.

I went in last Friday evening to get a quote for a dress alteration (just hemming). The man and the woman behind the counter were not pleasant, and gave me a quote of «$ 18-​$ 20» accompanied with a shrug of uncertainty… but they are walking distance from my place so I brought my dress back today (Monday). Still rude. Still not confident in their pricing, and actually doubled the price. I asked why and he said it was because it was two layers. Well, why didnt you mention that might be a stipulation when I came in the first time and described the dress to you? I said, «Oh, you quoted me $ 18-​$ 20 when I came in on Friday.» I received a confused look after that… so, they clearly didnt remember having a 5 min conversation with me a few days beforehand, and didnt recall quoting that price. He told me, «Well, they charge us $ 15 a layer.»
They? Who are they?
Not impressed with the fact that they outsource their alterations.
Anyway…my story has a happy ending because then I found Charles Alterations (Adams Ave) on Unilocal.I took my dress there immediately after leaving this place. Was quoted $ 10 less than these people and promised it would be ready for pick up in less than a week! PLUS the lady was a delight to work with, as opposed to the broad that works the counter here… and they work on your alterations right in house.

I have come here on occasion and love the quite, well kept laundry area. There is always someone there working and two TV’s available with a comfy couch with a remote control. There is even a nice area in the front with red wooden outdoor furniture. A nice coffee house next to it called Bear Buns. I get in and out of the this place very easily and I have not had any issues of broken machines or «Missing «clothes. It has a living room appeal great place to chill when you got to get your laundry done.

In town for a visit I tried this place and it’s a great place and friendly service! Many sized machines for all loads There’s a bakery 15 yards in the parking which also great… Give it a try you will not regret it.

Great place! Many sized machines for all loads! I think they have 5 sizes. We frequent the bakery next door and looked in one day to check the prices. A couple years ago I must have looked at the price wrong because I thought it was a little more than our current laundry mat just down the street. I was totally wrong! It’s actually less because the dryers are much faster spending $.50 less a load!
Barely inside the door we met Tina, I’m assuming one of the owners judging by the reviews. She’s wonderful! She looked at our bags full of laundry and said «um, that in this washer, that here, and come with me if that’s all one load!» I looked at my girlfriend and said, «hmm, I don’t know this is all gonna fit!» Sure enough, she couldn’t have been more right! Saved me money cause I was about to split up all loads in small washers.
End of story this is the only place we will go from now on! Best part is, we get to do laundry and breakfast at Bear Buns at the same time!

I come here to wash our big comforters and blankets. I wish my machine at home was big enough, oh well. This laundry mat is recently remodled and has multiple big screen TVs, multiple seating areas inside and out, all new equipment, free wi-​fi, restrooms, and is very well kept!

I was in a massive crunch to find someone to press my uniform. I went to 3 other places in the area (mission valley) and I used Unilocal to find another cleaners in the Serra mesa area. I called and they said sure we can do it can you come now and we’ll press it for you. I’m sitting here watching him press my uniform very grateful I didn’t have to try and iron it myself. He did it perfectly in a matter of minutes and the owner Tina came and asked me if would like something to drink or a snack. Such wonderful customer service!!! She asked me where I was from and told me that they just reopened; she thanked me for my military service and so told her I will definitely be back! And it was only $ 5.50!!!

I remember starting this review over a year ago and never finishing it. I don’t often come in because i am lazy to get the clothes in the car and drive so i end up washing at my apartment complex… but each time i come to this laundry mat it is immaculate. Tina, the owner, and her husband are both really nice people, so welcoming, and caring. I remember when i first started coming here Tina would offered me snacks/​drinks from her vending machine.
I really appreciate this place for its cleanliness. The machines are always clean and working! I love that they have direct TV and free WiFi available for their customers. I dread laundry but honestly each time i come here it somehow makes laundry less dreadful. I can sit, relax, watch some TV or be on my IPad reading.
This place gets 5 stars for its cleanliness, location, amenities, and its owners!

We drive regularly to this laundry mat and we usually spend 40 to 70 dollars doing our laundry each time.
Today, my husband and I came back from a long trip of three weeks with our laundry to have a man (skinny, balding, old guy, I guess one of the workers) accost me and my husband verbally. I have never spoken to this man before. I usually have interaction with a nice woman. Wow, I sure feel sorry for her if this is her husband. After this experience I have a feeling he must have some sort of anger and/​or control issues.
He yelled super loud at my husband to clean the machines after he is done, «I know it’s you with your sticks and leaves!!!» He was turning beet red too! I was dumbfounded. I thought to myself, «what, who is this ungovernable maniacal person?» «Clean your own damned machines!» Isn’t that what we pay for here? We also pay for the toilet here. Do you want us to clean the restroom too?! I think not!
I will not recommend this place to anyone again and I will definitely tell anyone who asks me about Serra Mesa Laundry about the absolutely rude and unevolved person that works there.
I am a hard working business owner and I wonder how someone will grow business with these type of assaultive interactions with their (ex) patrons. I guess it’s low stakes when you lose a customer at a coin op laundry!
Might I suggest a greeting? Or some courses in how to talk with fellow human beings? Probably not. Maybe next life!
I should have left that moment, but I have a busy schedule and am leaving town right after laundry again. Next laundry visit? NOT HERE!!!
My husband just read my review and reminded me of a time when this man verbally went nuts on him for propping the toilet door open while at the business. My husband tried to explain that we are there for an extended period of time and he was on a special cleanse which caused him to use the toilet frequently. This guy at Serra Mesa freaked out on him and was yelling, I remember hearing him screaming but didn’t know it was at my husband. Anyway, my husband offered him 20 dollars for that days use and any future use that day of the toilet. The grumpy old man wouldn’t take the money. He just grumbled and walked away.
Well enough of my disappointment with Serra Mesa. I will not give that angry man a third chance to be aggressive and abusive.
Any suggestions on nice laundry mats in the Bay Park area?

This is as good as it gets for a place to do laundry. Here is bullet point style break down:
COIN MACHINE: How many times have you gone to a place and it’s either not working or out of change. This place is on top of it and it always works and fully stocked with quarters.
VENDING MACHINE: Snacks and laundry supplies if you are hungry or forget your detergent, softener, or dryer sheets. Reasonably priced items too.
BATHROOM: This is the only downside. You need to play 25 cents to use it. Not a big deal and they just do that to keep the riffraff out. The bathroom is always immaculately clean.
SOFAS: They have some comfortable leather couches to sit on while you wait for your laundry.
FREE WIFI: Need I say more? Also, it’s good wifi unlike those crummy hotel connections we’ve all run into.
MACHINES: Side loaders and top loaders. A wash will run you $ 2.50 for the standard top loader. They have different sized machines for your washing needs. They are all well kept and clean.
COUNTER SPACE: Plenty of counter space to fold your clothes and garments after they finish drying.
TELEVISIONS: Two flat screens and both of them have DirecTV.
OUTDOOR PATIO: Want to relax outside on some patio furniture? They have that as well.
EATING OPTIONS: There are a lot of eating options within walking distance. The bakery and coffee shop next door is cut from the same cloth. Outstanding product, service, and free wifi!
PARKING: The place only has a few parking spots in the lot, but it’s right on a non busy street with plenty of parking and a large parking lot in the mall across the street.
OWNERSHIP: Incredibly friendly and they really care about their business. They might even let you use the bathroom for free if they come to know you as a regular.
CAMERAS: They have surveillance cameras for added security.
DRY CLEANING SERVICE: I have not used their service, but if it is as good as everything else, you probably will not be disappointed.

Never thought I would meet such nice people in a laundromat. The owner was great, even opened a washer when we forgot to put in a delicate with the others. Highly recommended.

Had to go to a laundry mat because our washer was broken.
Pros:
Clean facility, newer facility.
Nice leather couch with big screen TV for you to wait for your laundry to get done.
Outside patio area is available as well, or you can go across the street and get some mexican food while you wait for your laundry.
The owner is super nice and super friendly.
Cons:
interesting people with colorful personalities. You might meet someone crazy.
I would totally come here again if our washer/​dryer is down.
