Markshane is an egotistical trainer in the worst kind of way… at least that’s how he came across on the phone. My husband and I were searching for a trainer and had been in contact with a few. We were leaning towards another trainer when we heard from Markshane, but decided to call back to chat since he had called my phone so many times. He gave a typical «used car salesman» vibe which is okay because he should be selling himself. He then asked what we were offered by the other trainer and said our budget would «be the final deciding factor» if he would train us… again, I get that and they need to make money. When he heard what our budget is and that another trainer agreed to help us out, he said «You get what you pay for. Anyone who agrees to do it for that price will realize how much money they are losing and won’t want to do it anymore.» When I mentioned that the trainer KNEW he was giving us deal but wanted to help us; wanted to be a part of our journey, Markshane scoffed at the idea. Very unprofessional and made it seem like all he wanted was the sale. Dude needs a class or two about humility and especially needs to learn how to be more compassionate… we’re people, not numbers or just another paycheck.
What a disappointment… even if they have been in business for 20 years… *eye roll*

I met with Markshane about two months ago because I just did not feel like I was where I needed to be and I wanted to get back to my preferred weight. Immediately he was able to help me by explaining to me how I can reach my goals with simple changes in my diet and exercise. He made me feel completely comfortable about going to a personal trainer. You can tell just by the way he works with you and talks to you how much passion he has and how much he wants to see you reach your goals. I went twice a week, and I must say every day I was there was a challenge. In two months, I was able to reach my goals and am extremely happy with the results. I could not be more thankful for the help Markshane was able to provide me.

Training with Markshane has been a blast! My wife and I were able to get into phenomenal shape for our wedding and his knowledge and passion comes through in every session. The variety in exercises is great, and he pushes you at a sustainable, yet challenging level. All of this in a perfect sized gym, with no waiting ever and an inspiring environment. As a side note, Markshane is a phenomenal people person and ‘connector’, as he even took a lot of time to help me make new introductions to help me professionally. Thank you Markshane and team!

Markshane is an awesome trainer. He really does a good job with getting your core into shape and he makes the workouts fit for you. He has an attitude of gratitude and it is really contagious. He also really cares about getting you into shape. If you want someone to hold you accountable and get you where you want to be, Markshane is your man!

Ok — heres some honesty for you — I had seen Markshane at the networking events I attend and thought to myself to stay far and away from him. I’m out of shape and the idea of a trainer scares me. BUT one day he corners me, I’m a deer in headlights, I cant get away.
I say something to the effect of, «look man, you really dont want to waste your time w me» sounds sadder than I meant it. I just meant that I really cant be sold on the idea of being at a gym with fit people and being so unfit and not having the time/​money/​insert various other excuses here.
BUT, i went in for a consult and I’ve never been happier at a gym anywhere anytime. Everyone is so positive and so focused on wellness. I actually LOOK FORWARD TO MY VISITS (who have i become!!) I work hard and feel amazing. I am so lucky to have taken the plunge in going to the consult.
I feel like I am gaining so much more than muscle. Markshane and his staff are so helpful and so quick to be motivating but also to lending a kind word.
This is the sort of place everyone should find. This Shape Up Studio turns the idea of working out upside down for me — from a serious frown to a huge smile.

Seriously awesome! I worked out with Anatoliy for about a year at Shape Up Studio. He was a fantastic trainer, and from what I saw it looks like everyone there is a fantastic trainer. Markshane was excellent and from our initial consultation I knew that I would stay. They pushed me much further than I ever would have myself, and I saw great results in a short amount of time. The price is MUCH more reasonable than any of the gym chains, and the personal attention at this intimate fitness studio is amazing. This is the only place that I recommend for personal training when people ask.

I was lucky enough to meet Markshane a few years back and a friend of mine and I started working with him twice a week.
I grew up playing sports and training and I’m also a volleyball coach, so I train other athletes. Unfortunately I had gotten a bit out of shape over the years. I’ll NEVER forget our first workout with Markshane, He worked us so hard and pushed us just past where we would’ve stopped on our own.
After that first workout I left the gym and started to drive away and had to pull over because I was such a mess haha.
I called my girlfriend and told her I think I might die. She said «are you going back on Thursday?» I said «heck yes! anyone that could kick my butt this good is worth EVERY penny!!!» and he certainly is.

I always look forward to my training sessions with Markshane. No matter how I feel when I enter the gym, I always have a great workout and leave feeling great. Markshane has helped me to become bigger and stronger than I ever thought possible.
I found it extremely difficult to gain muscle mass, but Markshane seems to be able to push me that extra bit that I needed to get the results I was looking for.
Markshane always made my program work for me and not for him. Markshane is always very professional in every conceivable way: his knowledge, punctuality, attention to detail, and his ability to develop my weak areas.

I tried out this studio for personal training sessions via a promo package which seemed quite promising. The location was convenient for me; the atmosphere was private and low key, a small studio tucked away among industrial offices.
The personal attention was nice during the sessions, I’m unsure of how their rates stack up against competitors as this studio seemed pricey. I figured business owners would make every effort to not just attract new clientele but also retain them… was not the case here.
The owner, Markshane, took on the new clientele for the package deal and each of the four sessions was a hassle to coordinate. For example, my fourth session was rescheduled because he had a court appearance to make and turned out the new appointment time wasn’t going to work for me so I had to forfeit the last session because this realization was last minute. Considering I paid an extremely fair (bargain) price for the introductory offer, I didn’t really sweat losing one session.
I just didn’t feel he had a vested interest in my personal health or fitness goals (don’t get me wrong, I showed up and worked hard during the sessions, I’m not lazy or trying to place the success or failure upon anyone other than myself) it’s just that I quite likely can spend less on a monthly basis to be treated like a number elsewhere.
