This place is garbage. The bartender thought she was a god and she was far, far, far, —the furthest thing away from that… There were people drinking outside when I came in, so I tried to step out later for a smoke with my drink in my hand… That was a big fat NONO. I guess only her friends are allowed to drink outside… My bad chica, I had never been to this place before, I didn’t know the rules. So instead of saying«hey, you can’t go out there with your drink.» She curses at me, screaming bloody murder«HEYYYYYYYY you fucking stupid ass bitch!!! What the fuck do you think you’re doing? Get back here now!!!» Woah… I guess she was trying to look tough or something. Sure looked like a psycho to me. Never coming back to this shit hole again, I hope it closes down, so someone can put a respectable watering hole in its place. I doubt the owners care about Unilocal reviews anyway, but it’s worth a try.

I live right up the hill from this bar. I LOVE it. I could see how it’s not what everyone’s looking for. But if you’re looking for a quiet place to have some strong drinks, in a chill environment, with great service– This is it. I prefer to drink at home, generally speaking. But some nights, just before last call, I like to come down here and socialize with the other local industry folk. I’m not going to lie… there are some days of the week, that I show up here(in my night clothes, with an early onset hangover) right when it opens. Not every week, lol, just every now and then… It totally saves me. Not many bars in PB open that early. The opening bartender serves me without judgment. THANKGOD! LOL. There was a long term bartender here, Liz, whom just recently left. About 4 months ago. Since then, it’s felt like a revolving door of bartenders, but none of them are good or bad. Just… there.

Packed full of locals, 1 Bud tap, and a full selection of liquor, the Silver Spigot is a dive bar off the beaten path. The interior is rather spacious, with both bar and high-table seating. The location has lotto, a jukebox, 1 pool table, and 1 dart board. The bartenders are cute, friendly, and make you feel welcome, all while staying attentive to your empty glass. They have a sign that mentions bowls of soup, although I didn’t ask about it or attempt to give that a try. There is plenty of parking in their private lot, with a few choice spots out front. The men’s bathroom was pretty clean and had those old school, to the floor urinals. The Friday crowd didn’t start picking up until around 10pm, and even then it felt comfortable and fun. If you are into craft beer, this won’t be your spot. They offered only a variety of domestics in the bottle and $ 2.50(?) Bud on tap. Prices were affordable, around $ 3.50 for a whiskey w/ginger ale. Pretty cool spot that would be great for small groups.

I once saw a 60 year old man run through the bar completely nude, just holding his junk as the entire bar cheered him on. This place is dive through and through, so know what you’re getting into. Which is to say, if you’re trying to tie one on in an old dirty dive, I can’t recommend it more.

After driving by the Silver Spigot for over a year I decided to give it a try with a buddy. It was slow and the service was great! Drink prices are definitely reasonable. Definitely a dive bar — which is great! There is a pool table, dart board, and some video games as well to keep us buzzed customers happy. Give this place a try and support local business!

Legit little dive. A pool table, assorted bar games, and charming bartenders. No frills, but that’s not the point.

Awesome old school bar. You know you’re in a professional drinking hole when their hours are 6am — 2am. You know they’re even more professional with a big sign on the wall saying they sell 6 packs to go. They got cheap drinks with a ton of old dudes that are regulars. You do see the crowd start to shift around 8 with a younger crowd migrating in. Decent pool table, shitty foosball table and the worst juke box I’ve ever witnessed. Be careful of old guys staggering around looking for attention. Wednesday and Friday nights they got an awesome guy selling tamales. Great bar, but the whack ass country juke box needs to go!

I went to this place in the late 70’s when I was going to USD. I am local North County and attended a business conference at the convention center. I asked one of the catering people about their favorite dive bar, and the Silver was the response. «That place still around? I drive by it on the freeway practically every week going to the airport and never noticed.» So I went back. Better than ever, what I call one of my favorite global Star Wars Bar Scene joints. Ok, so this place isn’t somewhere you would take a date. But if you’re looking for a fun dive bar this is the place to go. Just make sure you take a cab home, the drinks are strong!

I never heard of this place before because it’s sort of located in the middle of a long road in between the residential homes. I like this place for its Dive ness . I believe they only have one kind of beer and it makes things simple(Budweiser) Came in on a Thursday night, and it was a good crowd and not too packed. Just the right amount of spunk, flare and tons of dive ness for the area it is located in!

This is what you want when you’re looking for a dive bar. Pool table. Music. Beers. Fucking sketchy ass parking lot… lol they have it all. It’s so dive-y, that had I not been with friends who drug me here, I’d probably would have never gone. But I’m glad I did… it was great. Paid $ 11.50 for 3 Pacificos. Our bartender was sweet and friendly. Even after having my ass handed to me in a game of pool, I would return :) Only gave it 4stars, because as a girl, I honestly don’t think I’d ever be safe going there by myself… haha, but still pretty good place.

Clientele a bit sketchy, I may have seen a drug deal go down outside… Cheap beers — 4 drafts, 2 Guinness and a Miller Lite for $ 20. Bartender was friendly and hospitable. I’d prefer Mr Peabodys but this was a solid find given the area(Morena blvd).

Silver Spigot Cocktail Lounge Saturday October 23, 2010 Four Stars Warning: This is a Dive Bar: Cheap Drinks, A Coin Operate Pool Table, Ridiculous Drunk Old People, and the Cutest Bartender that I have seen there thus far. What more could you ask for in a bar? I know watching uncoordinated drunk guys dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller by simply waving their t-Rex arms in the air, or the drunken couple grinding and making out at the bar, or the plastered Asian lady who kept trying to speak French but all she could say was«wee wee»(instead Oui) and«Bön Soir.» All in all a great place for 4 drinks at $ 4 a piece. I wish Unilocal have a half of a dollar sign for the price range.
