Smart Landscape and Garden

To start off, I want to thank Danny, Bob, and their entire team that transformed our front and back yard lawns into an awesome sight!
Now I’ve been personally working on our front and back yard lawns for the past two years and every time I started to get some ground, I got busy with another project. So, last week my wife and I saw the smart landscape team working on our neighbors yard across the street. My wife asked me to see if they can help us and help us they did. I first spoke with Bob, amazing guy, and he got my info and gave his boss a call, which is Danny. Probably within an hour or 2, Bob calls me and said Danny is here at my neighbors. Quick response, love it. I come out our house and invite them over. They took measurements of both our yards gave me a quote and said they can get started by cleaning up the excess mound of dirt I had in the backyard. We agreed and the following day Danny and his team got started, which was Tuesday. They finished the full installation by Thursday! We came home and we were blown away at how beautiful and home much better our yards look now. We still have work to do but that’ll get done. We’re just relishing on how we can finally have a backyard party after four years living in our home. Oh yeah, we also live in Mira Mesa and we’re happy we had a native help us out. Thank you Danny, Bob, and the entire team. Y’all did an amazing job!

We just had our front yard done this week and it brings me a smile every time I step out of the house or arriving home. Danny and his crew have been extremely helpful in completing our vision.

Danny did such an awesome job on our front yard! Never in a million years did I think we would get rid of our front lawn, as I am an English Garden flower type girl… Well, drought and a water main break forced us to rethink our yard work and water bill and I am so thankful that Smart Landscape came into our world. They did such a wonderful job giving me some of the color that I so crave, yet making our lives so much easier due to less watering and mowing. Amazing what they did to still meet my flower needs! Thanks Danny! Would recommend a million times over!

Update: Looks like we have some issues. The design and lack of drainage has caused flooding into my house from my back yard. Danny has assured me that he wants to help. Hopefully we can get some drainage help. Will keep the world updated. Thanks!

Final update: Danny, Bob and the team really came through for us. They came over on the first full day of no rain to install drainage to the street, a pump, and even helped with my rain gutters. I am pretty blown ay by how quickly they did all this work. Danny even had the maintenance folks, who by the way is great, clean things up in the yard. My house is better than back to 100%. Thank you, SMART landscaping.

What a great company! From design to execution and maintenance if you’d like they do it all. My yard is fabulous and has low water use.

What a great company, so easy to work with, awesome suggestions, Danny really listens to his client to create something perfect! I had a vision of a dry creek bed which has come to life! and a beautiful block wall complete with succulent growing in the block openings. The crew is hard working and very respectful of the fact that they are in someone’s yard. Would ask them back in a heartbeat if I needed more work done.

Though the whole experience was not without a few issues, Danny (the owner) always made things right, and the end results are fantastic. The amount of work that went into transforming our landscape was well beyond what I had expected. Yet, the team worked efficiently to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. All the guys working on the yard were polite and considerate as well. We really are so impressed with how our new yard looks. One final note, if you are working with Smart Landscape and Garden, and you run into a problem, just call Danny. He will sort it out and make the customer happy.

Our yard looks AMAZING!!! We are so happy we worked with Smart Landscape. They did a great job and stayed within our budget. We loved the guys who did the work — they were very patient with our dogs and kids and worked hard even though it was incredibly hot and humid the week they did our yard. Danny the owner and Gary the design guy were obviously busy all week but took personal interest in making sure the job was progressing in the right way and stopped by almost every day. Communication with the Smart Landscape team was great and we were very impressed with the attention to detail. They even incorporated some older plants we had in pots and the work they did was nothing short of transformational.

Honestly, I would give a 5-​star if it weren’t for the lack in communication from the design department. I have to say when we first contacted Smart Landscape, response was quick and working with the designer, Gary, seemed very smooth and efficient. However, after the first meeting and on subsequent communications, things sort of tapered off. We were promised revised drawings and quotes that were more often late or never really materialized. Even with the last message to the designer, it went unanswered.
Now, with regards to the actually team which worked and built out our new wonderful yard, they were the absolute best to work with. They met our time frame and even worked with us to make sure everything was to spec. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to know the names of all of the landscapers but, Danny and Bob were great. Bob reminded us of a seasoned pro who knows exactly what to do and how to do it. Danny was very hands on and made sure things were done correctly and to our satisfaction. They did a great job transforming our dreary yard into an oasis.

Hats off to Danny Vu and his amazing team! Our plant beds were overridden with weeds and overgrown plants. We decided to install more eco-​friendly and drought tolerant plants. Danny recommended a couple of succulents that we liked and even installed some of his favorites. His team was quick and efficient removing and installing the plants in a days worth of work. Danny worked with us on budget and design making the job easy and fast. Overall, we would highly recommend Smart Landscape and Garden for all your landscaping. Danny’s team is fast and efficient! Highly Recommended!

I had 2 other companies come out to quote my front yard and both said they didn’t do any job for under 30K. Gary was very welcoming and assured us they would work within our budget. He created a beautiful design plan without us not giving him that much direction. The guys were there every morning, I never had to wonder if this company would show up. We went on vacation and had some problems with our sprinkler system and Bob made sure to come by and check to make sure everything was running smoothly even though we were not located around where most of his other jobs were. We put DG, mulch and succulents in the front yard with a gorgeous paver walkway. A trellis on the side yard and more DG in the back. As the project came together Gary felt we may need more color and added other plants, showing that he really cared how it looked. Great company to work with. I would recommend to anyone.

My front yard was a disaster… it’s been my dream to have a landscape done but just couldn’t afford the cost. Danny’s crew was working in my neighbors yard and their truck was parked infront of my house. I’m glad I made that call. After discussing my budget and a design plan, I am so happy and proud of my yard. I now have a dry river rock bed with succulents and fruit trees positioned perfectly around the river bed. He incorporated DG in the yard as well. The color combinations he used compliments my house. His crew knows what they’re doing, he did more than what was asked for. The thing that really amazes me is they’re good people whose objective is to make you satisfied with their work. I recommend Smart Landscaping to anyone who wants honest people and affordable project. I will hire him again to do my backyard slope.

Danny Vu helped me install a new lawn in our front yard back in 2013 and then helped me convert the lawn recently to a micro-​drip irrigation system with drought resistant plants once my lawn died due to the drought. He also redid my backyard with a very nice raised herb/​vegetable garden box. He is very knowledgeable in irrigation and has a passion for all types of plants, trees, and greenery. I didn’t know how I wanted my yard to look but he had no problem helping me design one that suited my needs. His crew finished the job very quickly and he cares a lot about how your yard is presented. You won’t be disappointed if you decide to go with Smart Landscape and Garden.

Before hiring Danny Vu, I met with at least seven other landscapers. They were nightmares to deal with, except Danny. He worked with my budget, planned a beautiful front yard, and when I decided to do the backyard also, he promptly did lovely work on that as well. I’ve found Danny *more* than responsive — he’s proactive. I just got off the phone with him after missing him stopping by my house to talk about my dying-​from-​the-​heat lawn. His crew comes by my house regularly every two weeks. He’s proven *extremely* willing to work with me on a payment plan for his services. I think he just really likes a lawn to look nice and he wants to make it happen for his client. I’m not sure what happened with the person who wrote that bad (and very old) review, but my experience with Danny has been completely opposite that, and more in line with what the newer reviewers wrote. I would recommend him to anyone.
