Sorrento Deli Mart

I frequently stop off at this deli/​store on my lunch break, and I love it. The prices are very fair. It is no generic subway sandwhich shop. The sandwhiches are made to order, and you can taste the love and care put into making them in each bite. The homemade soups are delicious, and really hit the spot on a cold day. They have great shakes, and flavored Boba that keeps me hooked, and coming back for more. The service is great, no matter how long the line are the 2 ladies that make the sandwhiches always get them out supper fast. It is a family run business, and everyone who works there is really respectful, helpful and courteous. If you are ever in the area and looking for a quick bite, I definitely suggest stopping here.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I found poop in my sandwich and when I called to tell them, they laughed and hung up on me

I also wish I could give zero stars. I called in my order. Was talked to extremely rudely. After hanging up I thought about it and decided to call back to cancel my order. The lady who answered LAUGHED when I told her what happened when I ordered my food.
Needless to say I will not be returning here. Terrible service.

Best deli ever! Their sandwiches are delicious and I highly recommend the dynamite sandwich. Also very good customer service and they have your order ready within the amount of time they suggested. They never let me down in time for lunch (:

Working in the area, this place has honestly some of the best sandwiches I’ve had at a great value.
The dynamite on squaw bread or french roll is the go to.
Also for breakfast, the egg, ham, and cheese on squaw is delicious

I love this place! I come here a lot for lunch, as I work in Sorrento Valley and there aren’t that many good choices for food near by.
I always get the veggie sandwich on squaw. Extra delicious if you get a side of their honey mustard. It’s fresh, cheap, and delicious. Plus, you can watch a bit of Judge Judy or Pawn Stars while you wait!

It was hard for me to find this gem… its tucked away next to a mediocre taco shop and a bar. I just thought it was just a liquor store at first but then I noticed the sign.
THIS PLACE IS AWESOME AND CHEAP. I work right across the train tracks and am looking to spend 5 bucks for a big meal and that is exactly what I got.
HUGE WRAPS WITH QUALITY INGREDIENTS. The wrap lasted me my 8 hour evening shift. Will be back.

Always perfect French rolls and great ingredients I love this place and won’t go elsewhere the food is great

I love love love their chicken salad sandwich!!! :D I don’t normally crave for sandwiches, but I crave for their chicken salad sandwich! Last time I came, we ordered the vegetable soup with beef!!! It was really good! :DDDD will be coming back!!!

I came here during my lunch break not expecting much but man was I wrong! I ordered a sandwich with turkey, bacon, avocado with pepper jack cheese on sourdough bread. Sounds typical right? It was one of the BEST sandwiches I’ve ever had! I don’t know why and how it was so good but it was and I would eat here for lunch everyday if I could. Just based on the food, I would easily give it 5 stars.
But we have to take in the atmosphere. The deli is pretty run down and doesn’t seem very inviting. I almost walked out as soon as I walked in. Lighting is really dim but there’s a couple tables inside. I didn’t feel too comfortable eating in there so I ordered my food to go. It took almost 20 minutes to come out which is excusable because it was lunch time and there was a lot of people waiting for their food.
The parking structure is decent– gets a little busy but I didn’t have too much trouble finding parking.
Prices are good for the food but remember to take cash because they have a charge for using card!
I would definitely go back to try another one of their sandwiches but I would probably take the food to-​go again.

The family that owns the simple deli is fast and efficient at getting us Coaster gang in and out for our trip home, if you have time grab a sandwich, everything is fresh

This is currently my favorite Deli! I’m absolutely addicted to the Bomb, Grenade & Dynamite sandwiches depending on what day it is. On one occasion I bought two dynamite sandwiches just for me.
Another great item they have is the Ginseng Fling smoothie.
I can’t wait to go back!

Great sandwiches here. The «Dynamite» on squaw bread with provolone is my jam. They’ve also got Martinelli’s if you’re thirsty.

This place is in a gas station, and you think, «Really? We in the ‘hood?» But plenty of people come here to eat! There are actually quite a number of tables inside (for a gas station) and two tables outside. Since we had your typical beautiful San Diego weather, we decided to eat outside!
The wait time was a bit lengthy (about 20 minutes), as there were quite a number of people there. All five or so tables were taken, and there were at least 4 – 6 people ahead of me. I ordered the caesar salad, thinking it would be small given the cheap price (about $ 5). I also ordered an egg salad sandwich, which came with a pickle. Add a bag of chips, and I think everything cost no more than $ 12. Everything tasted pretty good!
I was amazed at how large the caesar salad was! It was bigger than what one person could eat! Heck, it was bigger than what me and my coworker could eat (upon discovering the size, I told her she had to help me lol). Unfortunately, my picture just doesn’t do it justice. I would definitely come here again!

I was expecting pretty much a typical convenience store tasting sandwich the first time I bought lunch here. It was my first day of work and I was nervous, so I was looking for something just to fill my stomach but I didn’t feel like Mexican food.
Safe to say, that sandwich was the first pleasant surprise and great experience followed by a string of great experiences at work.

Stopped in after going to Zumbar. Pretty standard deli sandwiches but also pretty solid. I went with the tuna wrap because I’m on a no land meat streak at the moment. The tuna wrap was insanely large (good value) and pretty tasty. Had cheese and lettuce and wasn’t too mayonaissey, know what I’m talking about Verne? All in all I liked it and will be back to try it again and hopefully give me more stars.
Oh and btw… this place carries a bunch of Polish beers. Like 8 – 10 varieties! Crazy! In the words of our governator, I’ll be back.
