Owner of SOS Entertainment for 10 years and DJ for 20 years, Derek leads the SOS Crew with a strong charisma and devotion to his business. Derek is the in-​house production expert and creates a family-​like atmosphere with those he works with in the office, forming a strong community who works very well together. With a vast knowledge of Audio/​Visual, Lighting, DJ methods and more, he is able to create a one-​of-​a-​kind event just for you.

This past April, my group performed at a conference in Ontario, in which SOS Entertainment was in charge of all the lighting and audio visual needs. Derek, Julian and the team were amazing to work with and were a huge part of our production’s success! Not only were they extremely professional and talented, but they were also super helpful, patient and friendly. They made the entire experience very pleasant. We performed 2 different days and they were quick to make adjustments to make our second day even better than the first. I am thankful for their hard work and their ambition– as you can tell they love what they do! I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to bring a professional look to your next performance or event.

SOS did a fantastic job providing the perfect lighting for our wedding! Our reception was on a large lawn with no existing lighting and they were able to create a special ambiance with just the right amount of light for dinner and dancing. It looked great in pictures too! Keeley was such a pleasure to work with :)

Martin made the party!!! He was the DJ at my son’s bar mitzvah. He was prompt, professional, and did a great job. He got everyone up and dancing. Martin played the music the kids love. I would recommend SOS Entertainment. Brynn (on the administration) side was so helpful. Lot’s of fun!

My husband and I hired SOS to do our wedding. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, Keeley followed up with us many times and even made a detailed time line for all my vendors to follow. This made a nervous bride extremely comfortable. She walked us through all of the songs that we needed to pick out for our wedding and was very detailed about telling us how many songs we needed and for when during the ceremony and reception.
When our wedding arrived SOS was at the venue early to set up. My husband used to do lighting for events so he wanted to make sure that our event was nothing less than a spectacular light show. SOS did not let him down. The entire room was lit up in turquoise and white (our wedding colors) and there was even a pin light on our beautiful cake all night. We didn’t use the lights that the venue had to offer at all!
Derek was our DJ and a longtime friend of my husband’s from high school. He kept our guests on the dance floor all night. When it came time to do speeches I was surprised that Derek did a speech. My husband and I were extremely touched.
SOS made our wedding a night that we will never forget. They were professional, friendly and extremely talented. I’m so glad we chose them to produce our wedding!

I have worked with SOS many times in the past for several events at my past job, it was no question as to who I would use to DJ my wedding. This is by far the best team of people you will ever have the pleasure of working with. Keeley and Derek are so passionate about what they do. Keeley is extremely accommodating and treats everyone she meets with the uttermost care, she made things so easy and I absolutely knew that when it came down to making sure the reception at my wedding was blast, I had nothing to worry about. A good DJ/​MC is extremely vital in wedding planning, it really can make or break a party… if you want to have a guaranteed fantastic blow-​out party, this is the place to go. They are so professional but extremely fun at the same time. I have recommended numerous friends and family to them and will continue to do so.
If you want to go with a company you can trust with such an important day, SOS is the way to go hands down. :)

This review is LONG overdue, but well deserved! We used SOS for my wedding 2 years ago, and Derek & Keeley did an amazing job! I personally believe that the DJ is one of the most important elements to creating a great event. SOS definitely made our wedding memorable! To this day I still have friends and family asking who we used for our wedding! Every single person there danced the night away. SOS goes beyond just music though! Derek & Keeley strived to help us with anything we needed help with… from wedding timeline to lighting! Derek even went so far to help me get my vendor to allow us to bring in special lighting for my big day! Since our wedding we have used SOS for other events, and have never been disappointed!

As a professional photographer, I’ve worked with dozens of event companies over the years. Some are good, others are sub-​par at best, and then there are those which transcend all others; namely SOS Entertainment. From top to bottom, start to finish, table centerpieces to music selection, the company is top-​notch. I’ve never encountered such professionalism, organization and high-​end event production as that which SOS provides to each and every one of their clients. I can say with the utmost certainty, I am proud to work with them on a freelance basis, and if I were a client seeking the services which they provide, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them for even a second. I really hate to even be writing this review. But here it goes…
I was lucky enough to come across SOS Entertainment at the Not Wedding in San Diego in March 2013. I LOVED what they did. They were fun from start to finish. So much fun that when it came time to research DJs for my own upcoming wedding… they were first on my list.
Our initial phone conversation went really well. I was impressed with their services and just overall really excited to hopefully be working with them. The conversation ended on a great note and I was told I’d be hearing from them within a few days with a quote for the services.
And then a week passed, and nothing. I sent a follow-​up email explaining that I was looking very eager to hear from them. And more nothing.
It’s now July and I still have yet to receive anything from the company.
Not that I’m even relying on them anymore.
It is just very disappointing to be so excited at the possibility of working with a great vendor to only be disregarded and ignored. And it is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.

We booked SOS for our wedding in May based on a recommendation from our venue. From my first conversations with Keeley over the phone, to our initial meeting, to the DJing at the actual event by Kyle and Kelly, they were awesome!!! Keeley was always available to answer my questions via phone and email. Kyle did a great job during our whole event and keep everyone on the dance floor. They provided the perfect soundtrack for a day we will never forgot!

Our experience with SOS was nothing less than incredible! From the beginning, their organization in the planning was great. Keeley didn’t leave any pertinent question out and helped us create a timeline. Any question I had, they were happy to help!
On out wedding day, our DJ was wonderful! The ceremony and reception went flawlessly. The DJ is such an important part of the day, because they’re running the show as far as playing the right song at the right time, making announcements, etc. and Kyle did an incredible job! They also provide an assistant who helps coordinate the grand entrance, etc. and Rachel was great. The music was SO GOOD at the wedding and we constantly had everyone on the dance floor, and still are having tons of compliments! We were all on the dance floor until midnight!

I had the pleasure of working with Kyle and Rachel at a wedding. Kyle was not only a great DJ and kept the party going all night long, he was also a great emcee as well (which you don’t find in a lot of DJs). Rachel was such a big help as well and made sure everything ran smoothly. They were both punctual, organized, professional and very personable. I highly recommend them and hope to work with them again in the future!

SOS entertainment is the only choice for your wedding!!! I used them for my wedding on March 10 and it could not have been more perfect. Not only are they so professional and easy to work with, they played every song I wanted to hear without me even asking.
Keeley is an amazing coordinator and had every detail organized. She was easy to get a hold of and always returned my calls or emails quickly. On-​site the day of the event she kept to the timeline perfectly and allowed the whole event to run smoothly.
My DJ was Derrick and he was AMAZING!!! The music for the ceremony was perfect, he played everything we asked for during cocktail hour and dinner, and the dance music was everything I had hoped for. The dance floor stayed full all night… my dad even decided to add on an extra hour because people were having so much fun. I think we wore Derrick out because we never stopped dancing for five hours straight, but it was so fun. The main thing I wanted out of my wedding was for my guests to leave, saying they had such a fun time, and Derrick accomplished that easily.
Everyone should consider booking SOS for their next event. Thank you so much guys!!!

After all the wedding planning and decision making weather to have this to eat or what color flowers… the easiest decision was who was going to announce our wedding…
SOS Entertainment has been DJ’ing for longer then I can remember. They have a vast amount of knowledge and experience for really any Dance, show, wedding, benefit or large Concert.
Family Run — Kind — non corporate-​Perfectionist.
Thats them.
So with those traits it was a one two three for the wedding and Djing at our wedding 9−25−10 .
Of course Derek came with more then necessary staffed and on time for even our wedding planner to be happy and she was on the ball like a hawk that night.
Everything went with a ripple and we were very pleased.
I would suggest SOS and of course Derek for any event that needs a DJ a sound system set up or Properly run.
I have and will constantly refer all that I know to work with SOS Entertainment.

SOS is great, one of the best DJ’s that I have used. I work at a high school and he spends time with the students coming up with a design that makes everyone happy and get the best stuff for a great price. There are never any regrets using SOS.
