One word: Lazy.

My wife took my FJ Cruiser to them because the aftermarket backup camera was having issues. They were classic connection related problems, the video would get horizontal lines and flicker in and out and finally fade to completely black. They gave my vehicle back to me and told me there was nothing wrong and I needed to give the head unit more time to finish booting up for the backup camera to work. This had never been the case before. I told them that I disagreed and there had to be a switch, cable, connector, or camera issue. [After all I’ve worked with electronics for over 20 years, just not pulling a cars dash apart] I got my vehicle back with no improvement in function but with a bill for labor. I paid the bill but wasn’t happy about it. This was 2 years ago. I finally broke down and went to another shop that did a great job on my wifes car. I went to see Sai over at Auto Radio Specialists. He looked at my FJ and told me that there was definitely a connection issue and to just get a whole new backup camera. I did and took it to him for installation. [More on the installation over on their Unilocal review coming shortly] Sai showed me all the issues with the initial installation that were glaringly apparent like the severely damaged video cable in the pic [link] above. The guys at Streetnoyz didn’t even look into what might have been causing the problems. I really don’t see how they have so many great reviews. They were so lazy that they couldn’t even check the cable on the back of the head unit for issues, which is where the cable in the pic came from. It’s not even like it was hidden in the vehicle somewhere it was right there when you pulled the head unit out.
I would recommend avoiding this shop as they obviously are lazy and don’t take the time to properly diagnose a customers problem. For those of you that have had installations done by them I would get the work double checked for sloppy installation and issues like I had in my vehicle from the original installer. These things can not present for quite a while and get worse over time.

Great place. I was more than happy with the work they completed. I Purchased a new head unit and reverse camera online as a bundle. I went to another stereo shop in OB and the guy said he couldn’t use any of the wiring that came with the bundle and continued to try to upsell me parts I knew I didn’t need. I had everything. I double and triple checked. It was dialed. So long story short this place quoted me $ 450. $ 200 in parts and $ 250 in labor. I politely declined and turned to Unilocal for another place. Which brings me here. Skip was a no nonsense type of dude. Straight forward. Showed him what I had, he asked what kind of truck, took a quick peek, and said «yeah, you got all the parts, just gonna be labor.» Have me a price that obliterated the other shops and got me in for an appointment that Friday. Dropped her off at 9am, was picking her up before noon. Happy to recommend good businesses and this place was great. Check em out.

I would not let anybody else touch my car for any reason. These guys not only do a great job, but they have done a consistently great job throughout the years no matter what kind of car I have owned.

Great service

Unilocal came through by referring me to Streetnoyz. It was a pleasure communicating and working with Skip. He installed aftermarket headlight and foglight housings, ballasts, and HID bulbs for me, delivering exactly as I had envisioned (requiring a custom wiring solution), and working out a small issue that popped up along the way in a cordial and professional manner. Highly recommended.

Been going to Skip and Paul since 2008 and I don’t see that ever stopping. Just had them install a backup camera and Escort Passport 9500ci Radar/​Laser system in my 991 C2S and I could not be happier. The install was flawless, they finished right when they said they would and as always, the customer service was top notch. I will always keep coming back and will continue to send friends/​referrals their way.

Had a Sony navigation system installed by Skip and Paul in February, had some problems with the unit this month but they replaced it without charging me and no questions asked. The new unit has been working with no problems. Skip was very helpful listening to what I wanted and making a recommendation that matched my needs. When the unit had the warranty issue Paul helped me out in setting it straight. A pit pricy for the initial install but that’s to be expected with car electronics and I would have no Idea how to install it myself and have it look so pro! Overall highly recommended.

Over a year ago I had my Harley Street Glide 2011 in their shop for a Stereo and Speaker Upgrade. They knew what I wanted and educated me along the way. I was very pleased with their work and will be back to see them in June with my new Jeep Rubicon and a few mods with Tinting.
Highly recommended.

These guys are great. They did an outstanding job putting in a hands free parrot /​blue tooth system in my Volvo. I could not be happier with the price, value and quality. I will go back for any other auto audio needs.

Too good to be true.
I’m a very patient guy (as you will read on later) and should have walked away after the first initial visit.
I got the recommendation to come here after my close friend had a custom build on his BMW Z4 done here. The work looked flawless, and Streetnoyz seemed like a great place to have work done on more modern cars, but I was wrong. The factory amp on my 2005 Infiniti FX35 crapped out, and I was looking for the best option to bring my speakers back to life.
This is my experience with them after 6 trips.
Trip 1: Nov 2012. I came in at opening and was greeted by Paul. I began to tell him what was happening with my car, and they brought it in for inspection. After an hour later sitting in the lobby, Skip comes in to show me that my factory amp had water damage to it. He goes over my two options of getting a new factory amp, or purchase an aftermarket amp (which he had told me would sound better). I’m clueless when it comes to car audio stuff, so I went with what would make my car audio sound better.
After all was said and done, I scheduled my next appointment for install and charged the 1 hour to inspect my system. I go home and double check my engine bay to inspect any loose ends. I noticed that the plastic cover that hides my battery was missing. I called the shop and had Skip check to see if they forgot to put my battery cover back. 5 mins later and still on the phone, I find that my cover was laying against my TIMING BELT! The cover was slightly damaged, and I’m sure my engine was affected by this. I told Skip I found it on my engine, and was told «ok» and ended the call. This first issue didn’t bother me, and I told myself things would only go up from here… I was wrong.
Trip 2: Amp install. Every appointment I had setup at Streetnoyz was done on a weekday at opening. I figured by doing this, their installers wouldn’t feel rushed, work would be flawless, and there is less customers during the weekdays.
I purchased a 5 channel Alpine amp to support my 10 speaker setup (wasn’t told by anyone it would only run 5 speakers) and had that installed in about 2 ½ hours. The sound was good and the install looked clean. I go home and do my usual inspection, and noticed that my two C-​pillar speakers were not working. I call in and Skip explains to me it’s because of the amp I had got only supports this amount of speakers (really? shouldn’t you have told me this before I went forward with everything, knowing I’m no expert with any of this?) Knowing that what’s done is done, I figured I would deal with it.
Trip 3: Static coming from front tweeters. I noticed a day later that my tweeters are making a strange static noise, so I call. Paul answers and tells me to come in for further inspection. They had to tune down whatever additional part they installed to regulate the static. By doing this, it pretty much required me to raise the volume higher than normal, and the sound was no longer better than factory.
Trip 4: 1 week later. It was a cold day and decided to flip the switch for my heated seats. What do you know, the panel was not properly put back in, and my switch was difficult to turn on. I had also noticed the light was not turning on, and my seats were not getting warm. I immediately call, and Paul tells me to come so they can look at it. Keep in mind I live 20 miles away, own a car that averages 18 MPG, and gas is selling for over $ 4 at that time. Turns out they DID NOT plug back the wiring for the heated seat button!
Trip 5: Another week later. Black Friday shopping, and my speakers decide to no longer work. I bring in my car (once again, ugh!) Skip tells me that my amp is now overheating, and has an auto shutoff mode when it reaches a certain temperature. I’ve owned 2 Alpine amps to power subwoofers, and they have never given me issues. So at this point he tells me I can go with a different more expensive aftermarket amp, or go back to factory. At this point I’m over it, and go with what will just give me sound.
Trip 6: Factory amp re-​installed. After scheduling yet another weekday/​morning appointment, I get the original factory setup installed, yay me! Instead of getting charged for 2 hours of labor, I’m charged 1 hour (what a steal! NOT!) I figured I would not be charged to have everything re-​installed due to all the mishaps that has happened to my car so far.
Here we are a year later, and I’m still reminded of the poor workmanship. I get into my car after a wash, and notice that there’s drips of water sitting on plastic trim on the passenger side. Turns out the water was dripping into the hole where they routed the amp wire. How did I figure this out? I took apart the plastic trim hiding the wires, and decided to seal the area where water might drip with tape. Re-​installed the plastic trim and washed my car again. Tada! No more leak!
I thought I could forget about it all and not write a review about my experience, but this was ridiculous! Take your money elsewhere

–EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL– SLIMEY SERVICE– INDUSTRY IGNORANCE–
As a new resident to San Diego, when my fuse blew to my system, I found this shop online and proceeded to utilize them to purchase the $ 15-​$ 20 fuse. All I needed was a very simple fuse fix (unit is mounted above my engine under the hood) Once I arrived their SKIP voluntarily informed me that my system was wired incorrectly & that I also was low on brake fluid. (OK?)
After he handed me a bill for $ 90.00, I called the shop in northern California that installed my system to confirm if this was indeed accurate. After realizing he was *attempting to sell me a 200 WATT fuse, instead of the 40 watt fuse I needed– PLUS I was informed that *if I allowed him to install that, it could result in the wire catching fire, instead of the fuse blowing then my entire vehicle would be engulfed in flames. (WOW!)
Once I politely asked him to exchange the fuse for one not over 50 watts, HE SAID; «No. Here’s what I’m going to do; handed me back my AMEX card, said give me my pen and told me to leave» *In front of a lobby FULL of people NO LESS!
Completely jaw dropped, I left and explained what happened to the shop in northern California (who was kind enough to just mail me the fuse since they felt so bad for how Skip had treated me) and then I was SO GRATEFUL to find the CAR AUDIO HEAVEN staff, who installed the part FOR FREE! *They will have ALL my future car audio business!
STAY AWAY FROM STREETNOYZ & SLIMEY SKIP!

Super kudos to Paul and Eric for hooking up my stereo yesterday.
Went to Streetnoyz on the recommendation of other Unilocalers. I was not disappointed

Had my appointment at 0900 where I met Paul and discussed what I wanted done to my car. He was helpful and attentive. We went through my system and what the installation would entail. Eric then picked up my car and worked his magic.
A couple of hours later my ride was finished. Eric and I went through some of the basic features and he even set up my Pioneer App2 radio for my Android.
Awesome customer service and even the installation price was more than fair for the amount of work they did. Which was considerable.
From now on Streetnoyz has my business and they should have yours too!

Quick and thorough, and great to deal with.

Paul was a great guy to work with I recently had my factory stereo system replaced with a new Kenwood stereo system w/​bluetooth touch screen. The installation took only under 2 hours, the main problem was the parts itself. The warehouse didn’t have proper accountability of their assets so Paul couldn’t get me the kit to install the system on the day of my appointment but he was very courteous enough to call around looking for a vendor to provide the kit and give me a heads up.
I didn’t even realize the used car I had just bought had a subwoofer that came with it, however, it was missing some screws and wasn’t working. Paul and Chris gladly brought the car around the back and they were generous to help me get it working again at no charge. Looking to tint my windows soon, think I’ll be investing in Streetnoyz again very soon

I can’t say enough good stuff about Skip and his crew! They took my new boring stock BMW and transformed it into a real head-​turner! I don’t like the iDrive system BMW offers, so I asked them if they could cut up my dash and put custom touch screens in. Sure enough, they did it and it looks amazing! They also did custom works on headlights, tail lights, night-​vision equipped surveillance camera mounted in dash, ferrari-​red brake calipers, THE WORKS!
This is THE place to bring your toys. My car was among Bentley’s, a McLaren SLR, and some classic cars. If these guys are good enough to work on those cars they can definitely work on mine!
