Studio West Recording

Out of the hand-​full of recording studios I have worked with in the past 10 years, I have to say that Studio West is now my top choice.
My band mixed an 11-​track full length album with Kellogg and had it mastered by Brandon and I’m happy to say the album came out much better than I, or any of my bandmates, anticipated at first.
This studio actually cares about their reputation and – more importantly – cares about the clientele and the overall final product. Peter, Amy, Hunter, Kellogg, and Brandon collectively made our time at Studio West our best studio experience yet. And I’m sure there were others I didn’t mention that had some part in our awesome experience there. So thank you to them too!
This place has earned clients for life and we would gladly recommend them to any band, solo artist, or other ensemble.

I had my tracks mixed here by Kellogg and my only wish is that I had done the whole recording here. Unfortunately I did not check in to this place until I had already finished tracking. I finally checked this place out after many unsatisfactory hours of mixing at another location and getting only mediocre results. When Kellog took me in and gave me a listen to some of his mixes, I knew within 3 seconds he was the guy that would give me the sound i had been desperately trying to achieve elsewhere. Kellogg is a great engineer to work with, delivers exactly what you need in your recording and I hope to record with Kellogg in the near future. Can’t say enough good stuff about Studio West.

My band, Chanauk, used Studio West for our 4 song EP over 4 days and will go back to Studio West again for any future recordings. Our engineer, Kellogg, was not only the most knowledgeable recording engineer I have worked with in my 16 years of music, but he was the most professional and hardest working engineer I have ever seen. Does this guy ever eat or pee?
Studio A was a great environment to record in and the sound we got out of our gear was top notch. The owners Peter and Amy were very warm and kind and the facility was clean. The only thing I wish the studio had was a Mastering Engineer, other than that, top marks!

If you’re looking for the best recording studio in San Diego, look no further than Studio West. My band «The Suicide Chords» have been recording our latest tracks here. Although I’ve recorded here before in the past, spending more time in the studio recently made me realize how great it is. The owners are great and the staff is top notch. They have about 3 – 4 different studios, but Studio A is a great place to track drums.
The studio is equipped with a kitchen, 2 very clean restrooms (thanks Hunter!) and a lounge equipped with a big screen tv, dvd and satellite tv. Above Studio A they even have a lounge where the bands can relax and observe what’s going on down below.
All in all this is the place. Blink 182, Wolfmother, Humpty, and many others have recorded there as well. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to make your recording worthwhile…
