Stuff is a great find! We just love this shop. When we first moved here it was so refreshing to get some beautiful and affordable new pieces that weren’t from Ikea or Living Spaces. The shop owners were so helpful and worked with us to get the prices down even more since we were paying cash. We have since returned for multiple purchases to add to our collection. There is always something new and exciting to find in the shop too!

Great selection of items, inventory is always changing! perfect for unique, hard to find items. Check here before going to the big box stores! Service is great also, and there is parking in the back.

Had a great experience with Scott. Was looking for a small set of drawers — he had a ton of great options, all rustic style and original looking pieces. I left with exactly what I was looking for and it was very reasonably priced. Scott was helpful and nice, and I would recommend this store to anyone looking for non-​Ikea furniture that has character and sold from a local shop.

Stuff furniture is a wonderful place to find unique furniture, art, and funky odds and ends. They have things for indoor and outdoor as well. Prices are reasonable and service is friendly. This store is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood!

We stopped in the first week in May 2016. Great vintage stuff!!! And great prices!!! It’s close to home so we will be periodically stopping by.

We have been scoping out consignment shops to find the perfect piece to add to our small dining area, and ended up here. They had a ton of high quality, rustic pieces in great condition with cool finishes at great prices. We found three pieces to add to our home today, and we will definitely be back! Pleasant experience and very helpful.

Love this place. Sometimes I just wanna go to see if they found more treasures. One can appreciate the work that goes into reused furniture and you can definitely feel it here. The owner here is kind and prices his pieces well. From what he told me everyday he has people scout estate sales, now that’s dedication. His pieces are like anthropologie but are more realistically priced. I feel the owner wants people to come here and take home something they can cherish and appreciate. I am a forever customer here.

New to San Diego and just bought a house. We love pottery barn and restoration hardware furniture but was all too expensive. Went out searching for unique pieces like pottery barn has and found it all here! This shop was perfect. Great prices and all pieces in excellent condition. Scott was a huge help! Loved his 20% off sale for the weekend.

I am so excited to have found this store! I just moved and have been going through vintage stores and craigslist for cute furniture that is relatively cheap. I stopped by this place because their pictures looked like the type of stuff I was looking for and I absolutely loved everything in the store! The three guys who run it were absolutely adorable as well, so nice and sweet. Everything was 20% off because they just moved from normal heights to the college area. They said they are a little different from other consignments tires because they spend time restoring the items. If I had more room I would have bought halftime store! But I settled on a cute mint night table for $ 35. It is really worth checking out!

Fell in love with this place! Lots of great pieces and an even better price point considering the furniture is refinished already.
We were looking for a small table and candle holders. Surprisingly we found both! Everything was 20% off so it was a good day.

The owner Scott is borderline off his rocker. I was a long time customer of his store even though I knew from day one something wasn’t right with Scott. I have spent literally hundreds and hundreds of dollars of furniture from him over the past few years… Just recently I bought a pair of chairs for my dining table. After a month (BOTH) fell apart at the same exact spot. When I called Scott, very politely I might add, to explain this situation, he didn’t want to hear about it. I still brought them to his store so he could see it. I even told him I didn’t want my money back, but store credit.
Now you would think that he’d treat a long time customer with respect or make some kind of deal… but NO… He took a copy of his receipt book and then literally shoved it in my face and said «CAN’T YOU READ!!!» It says absolutely NO RETURNS!!! Screaming in my face! WTF!

We love Stuff! We have outfitted our entire garden with great one of a kind pieces from stuff, including plant stands, pots, wall décor, etc. Great prices and new selection all the time. Don’t miss the patio/​garden section out back. Bring cash for the best price!

My wife and I have been to Stuff probably ten times in the past month as we totally redo our front and backyard. We’ve saved literally hundreds and hundreds of dollars on incredible quality pots, pot stands, antique screens for the yard, etc. Whatever we need, we come here first and know we’ll find at a great price and with a nice experience with Scott. If you’re looking for ANYTHING in terms of home goods, this really should be the first place you check out.

My boyfriend and I are moving up to Santa Barbara next month, and I have to emphasize that one of the only reasons we are sad to leave San Diego is that we will no longer be down the block from this charming little consignment shop. The first time we went into Stuff was back in March when we accidentally stumbled upon it while walking down Adams in hot pursuit of some ice cream. And what a happy accident it turned out to be!
We were getting a table and some benches made by a very nice man down in Paradise Hills, but wanted two chairs to go at the ends of the table. Stuff had some very nice vintage looking furniture and knickknacks in their front window, as well as an overall inviting feeling, so we decided to take a look. Right away we spotted two chairs that would go perfectly with our table! Then we met Scott. What an absolute doll! A man who truly knows the meaning of «customer service,» which is not so common these days. We spoke to him at length and even gave him the number of the man making us the tables so that they could connect and hopefully do some business together. The two chairs, which were high quality and absolutely gorgeous, only came to be about $ 85! With tax! These chairs are no exception to the rule either. Everything in Stuff is fairly priced. I have been to numerous thrift shops and furniture stores in San Diego and can say with 100% confidence that you will not find better prices in this city. The thrift stores in Hillcrest are ridiculously expensive for the crap they peddle, and the customer service, if you can call it that, is severely lacking. You will definitely not find someone like Scott at any of those other places!
Stuff’s selection changes often, so there are always new and interesting items. Thus, if you see something you like, you better buy it that day! This is not a problem because you will want everything in the store! Try and be a buddy and pay with cash too. This is always helpful for a business like Stuff!
We went to Stuff again today, as my boyfriend wanted to buy me something for our anniversary. I have always wanted a worn looking, blue coffee table after I saw a similar piece at a friend’s house. Alas, I have never come across anything resembling what I envisioned in my mind, at least not for a fair price. When we walked into Stuff today, voila! There it was! The table I have always wanted! I mean two seemingly kismet moments at one store within two months? And the price? $ 65! For a solid, gorgeous table that could possibly be one of a kind. I was literally beaming. And once again, Scott treated us to his sweet nature and great conversation. I really cannot say enough wonderful things about this man and his business. Everyone local should buy their furniture from here, not only to reward good business practices, but also to own original, fun, vintage furniture that adds so much character to your home! We told Scott we would be making a pilgrimage at least once a year to San Diego just to shop at Stuff. And I meant it. I like my money to go to people who deserve it, and Scott and Stuff have earned it, as well as this five-​star review. If I could give more stars, I would. Thank you Scott for your hospitality and quality furniture! You have made at least two people (and it seems like many more judging from the other reviews) extremely happy (and stylish). Cheers!

I stumbled upon this great shop when looking for an antique store and it’s now my «go to» store for furniture and garden stuff. I was surprise on how many things I got for under $ 100.00. The best prices on good quality furniture that I have seen in a long time. The owner, Scott, doesn’t «hard sell» you, so it is nice shopping experience. If you are looking for that unique table or chair or a vintage garden item, you need to go to this store and check it out. Highly recommend this place. You will find something great even if you are on a tight budget.

Stuff is a great store to check out periodically for cool and unique items.
We have purchased two tables and I pay them a visit often to check out new inventory. The man who runs the place is very helpful and accommodating.
Walk all the way to the back to see the yard items, the distressed vintage patio items are cool. Another great shop on Adams, makes normal heights a great place to live.

The guy working was super friendly and helpful. I bought an antique teal ladder, pretty good sized & a red crate for only $ 40. The prices are awesome for what you are getting! This guy definitely knows how to make his customers and their wallets happy.

I found myself in the area to get a hot towel shave and had walked down the block to meet a friend for coffee. On my way back I noticed this unstated antiques shop. I walked in where I found the proprietor talking to a few customers. He stopped, greeted me, and explained he would be with me in a moment but to go ahead and shop around. I peeked around and though it was interesting, found nothing I wanted to purchase. As I was making my way to the front he greeted me again and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I explained that I was looking for some mason jar style glass. He brought me to the outside rear of the store and dug under a stool and old waterfountain where he pulled out a wire case of old soda and perscription style bottles. He told me the cost but that if I picked them up now he would give me a deal. Completely not what I was looking for, but I knew a friend who would put them to good use. I handed over my hard earned money, called my friend, who was allowed to pick them up later in the evening. While you never know what you are going to get merchandise-​wise in an true antique shop, you can guarantee solid customer service here~!

The owner Scott is a super nice guy. Items are priced to sell and painted to give that distressed vintage feel. Stores like this in Chicago were much pricier than this one. #HiddenGem

Isn’t it interesting that all of the bad reviews of this business and the owner have been purged so that no one can read them.
STAY AWAY… the owner is not friendly, and will sell something you like right from under you to his «friends».

I moved to the area a week ago, but I knew from the Unilocal reviews I needed to check this place out. On my first free day, I drove into town to check it out.
I made my first round, saw who I thought was Scott, asked him if he was, he confirmed and was a bit curious as to how I knew him. I explained that I saw his pictures on Unilocal,Facebook, etc.
I made another round… and then made my final round and there it was… the dresser I hadn’t planned to take home with me but «had to have»
I pondered it for about an hour and a half… Scott knew I wanted it and I could tell he was interested in working with me. Like the other reviewers said, he will negotiate.
I think because of the negative reviews I saw I was prepared for him to be a jerk – but he wasn’t. Scott is a business man and he’s in the negoitating business. If he’s a little chippy I can only imagine its because he deals with people trying to get over on him sometimes (considering the natural of the business).
For as long as I’m in the area, I intend on going there for all my accent pieces for my home.

Cool store, but the owner is ignorant, rude and an all around hot mess. The actual «stuff» is ok, albeit a bit over priced. BUT THE OWNER… seriously dude, pop Xanax and chill out bro. Adams Ave is filled with amazing local businesses with amazing owners. This store is just not one of them. If you’re handicapped, have a baby or kids, on crutches, have your pup with you you will be scorned. I wonder if his jam packed store is even to code…

Had a similar bad experience with the owner, twice. The first time we showed up just before closing to buy a table we spotted and were practically accosted for it. The owner told us there was too much furniture blocking the piece we wanted and didn’t want to move it out of the way. After flip flopping at least twice, he finally decided he could take the time to dig out the piece we wanted.
The second time, we tried to walk in with a stroller and were told there was not enough space and we wouldn’t be able to come in after accidentally knocking over 5 items within the first 10 seconds we came into the store. This place is definitely a hazard to get through and should be checked. Time to clean this place out or move to a bigger space or a neighborhood with rude customers to match the owner’s terribly offensive temperament.
Antique shopping should be a pleasant experience. This place is not worth the insults you’ll receive.

Reviews on Unilocal helped me find this place. The owner was very nice and the prices are very decent:) The variety of items range from décor, tables, chairs to pots and other garden pieces! They get new pieces everyday. They had a few mid-​century pieces that I was eyeing and would snatch if I had the room in my car and the extra funds. I spent about 2 hours or so just trying to look at everything and to decide what garden piece to get. I love that the owner just let me take my time and look around and offered to answer any questions. After spending most of my time outside in the the back, I ended up finding a unique light gray metal plant stand (holds up to five pots!) Lovely! Will be back when I’m back in towne!

A very interesting place to visit. I was looking for a tiny coffee table and a chair which is not too big.
This place had just what I needed. The prices are reasonable and the always offer you more discounts.
I am definitely going back when I’m ready buy some frames or artwork.

What a fun place to explore! I felt like a kid in a candy store! My bf had to hold me back from buying EVERYTHING that I thought would look cute! We have been on the hunt for some serious furniture to «dress up» the place that we recently moved into. When we walked in I knew we hit the jackpot!

The gentleman that owns the store was very nice, he introduced himself, gave us a lil background about his store and was happy to answer any questions.
Take your time while strolling through the place because I must of walked by the end table I purchased four times before I noticed it! It’s like an Easter egg hunt! If you look close enough you’ll find a hidden treasure! Good luck!
