Sun Harbor Marina-Point Loma

I love Sun Harbor Marina. It’s the nicest cleanest best marina to have a boat slip. The docks are quality sea shell stamped concrete. Not splinter sliver wood. There are restaurants just steps away. The staff are awesome hardworking individuals who go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one. I love spending my weekends there. A retreat

The people in the office are very rude. I was very disappointed and annoyed every second I had to spend around them. Prime example of how not to treat people around the holidays.

Sun Harbor Marina is hosting the Land & Sea Festival on May 17^th here in Point Loma. I so appreciate events like this as well as the ones they have in the office, i.e. Build Your Own Valentine’s Card, where they had all the supplies for us They also have beneficial classes such as Knot Tying for free Thank You Sun Harbor Marina for ALL you do for us your tenants

Sadly disappointed. Great facilities, but neighbors not so great. Snobby, rich atmosphere. Be careful not to speak above a whisper, unless youre an old rich conservative, you will be run out, even if it means calling the cops and falsifying information. They don’t like young people, fun, or music. Very pretty, not friendly at all though. Go somewhere else with real salty people.

Serendipity brought me to wonderful Sun Harbor Marina in Point Loma. To be more specific, at party at the Wonderland in OB I met this 66 and a half years young lady called Laura, who invited me and my friends to visit her home… her boat Beachy.
Of course I said yes, yes and yes again, as I have never been in a female-​live in boat full of flowers, magic stones and good vibes and also never been before in this marina. Very cool people living here.
Beautiful green architecture, clean restrooms (very important), boats are well maintaining and there is an air of camaraderie. For example, Laura’s neighbor (a hot dude) lent us his kayak for our pleasure (it was a only girls party at Beachy, but I swear we weren’t bitchy at all!).
Besides, there are very happening restaurants just outside the marina, so you can go hang out there just observing the maritime life, boats you cannot afford while sipping your favorite drink and getting sun soaked.

I have been at several other marinas in the area and oh boy, does this one stand out! This is one very nice marina. It is well maintained. The architecture is great. The restrooms are always clean. Probably because it is a small marina, the marina tenants seem to know everyone which makes for a great environment to hang out on your boat. All that is good. What really helps to set this marina apart from others is the marina management. They are extremely responsive to any requests. They are proactive towards making the boating experience at Sun Harbor to be a splendid one.

We’ve had our boat at Sun Harbor for five years and lived aboard for the last three. I LOVE this place. The marina managers are like extended family and the facilities are gorgeous and immaculately kept.
It’s wonderfully located (close to the airport), not far from big shops and the freeway. All of the marina neighbors look out for each other. Can’t say enough good things!

Sun Harbor Marina is truly an anomaly in the world of marinas. I’ve lived in several and this place rocks. It’s not just that they’re green and strive to be a good citizen around San Diego Bay… the people here are amazing. Come by during Natl. Marina Day on Saturday, June 11^th and see what I mean.
Great tenants, amazing manager (s) and a truly wonderful environment to live, work and play.

5 Unilocal STARS is a no-​brainer for Sun Harbor Marina. Why? It is a LEED-​certified site and built (or re-​modeled) with the utmost care for ecological correctness.
No matter that the fancy offices here pedal expensive yachts that most normal people cannot afford. The place is green! I went to one of my fav lunch spots yesterday-​Pizza Nova-​and walked around while they made my salad to go. There is much to admire here and what used to kind of be a grimy, under-​utililized portion of northern San Diego Bay is now a beautifully-​created and earth-​friendly haven for the boat crowd and lovers of oven-​baked pizza’s.
First, several parking spots are set aside in the front for low-​emission vehicles and car pools. The gorgeously-​tiled water fountain in the patio uses only recycled water and is a thrill to every child that comes by to gawk at it.
There is a heavy emphasis on recycling here at Sun Harbor. I am no architect so I don’t understand the exact details of how the businesses were built but the LEED website states that: «The process of obtaining LEED certification of Existing Buildings examines exterior building site maintenance programs, water and energy use, environmentally preferred products and ongoing practices for cleaning and alterations, sustainable purchasing policies, waste stream management and indoor environmental quality.»
Not to mention the marina there is full of awesome private boats, sailing yachts, and cool house boats that people live on. The people watching outdoors among the tables that are adjacent to the tiled water fountain are a perfect way to enjoy your delicious Pizza Nova food that tastes even better when you eat it out in the fresh, marine-​infused air. Sun Harbor Marina is a great example of how building with an eye towards ecology results in a win-​win situation and 5 Unilocal STARS from me!
