Established in 2015.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding has been a hobby of our owners since the sport began. Naturally we wanted to share our love of Stand Up Paddle Boarding with as many people as we can!

With a passion for the outdoors, travel, music, and adventure Ben naturally found himself gravitating to San Diego after growing up in the mountains of Oregon and studying in Hawai’i and Alaska. The mountains will always hold a special place in his heart, but for now it’s all about the beach!

Decided last min that we wanted to rent a couple paddle boards so we didn’t reserve the boards ahead of time. Ben was able to get us the boards 20 mins after I called him up. He even gave us a ride back to our car!!! Awesome guy! Will definitely rent from him again!

So usually I am suspicious of anything with so many five star reviews, but they are all genuinely deserved. Ben made it incredibly easy to get the boards. I called, showed up 5 minutes later and 10 minutes after that I was in the water! We were worried the boards wouldn’t fit in the car, but Ben helped us secure them (some pretty sick knot skills) for our 5 block journey to the water. No pesky hourly rates, a very reasonable flat fee and we could bring them back after 5pm, which was a concern with other shops that closed early. Will definitely be renting from him again – thank you for everything!

Super awesome time paddle boarding! We kind of had a late start and they were super flexible we got in at about 9pm and took the boards right out down the street. We didn’t have any straps but they provided them for us with no problem and gave us the run down how to strap them to the car. We will be returning for another time out but maybe we’all get out there sooner than later :)

Thanks, SUP California, for an amazing time. My experienced friends asked me to join them for a paddle at Sunset Cliffs. But I needed a board. I called SUP California and dealt with Ben. Quick, easy and very affordable. He asked a few pertinent questions to judge my ability (beginner) and then set me up with a nice board. Ben was friendly, knowledgeable and full of good advice on how to get started. Pick up and drop off was very convenient at their place in Pacific Beach. They helped me strap it on and away I went for a beautiful afternoon on the water. No hesitation at all about renting from SUP California!

Perhaps the best SUP rental experience I could have asked for. Along with being half the price of the surf shops, we had the benefit of renting the boards early in the morning and keeping them until the late afternoon. The boards were in excellent condition. We took them out on sail bay in the morning then worked up the nerve to hit south mission beach by the jetty in the afternoon. This place was a little hard to find, tucked in an alleyway, but Ben was helpful getting them on the car and strapping them down with my ten year old surf rack. If I rent boards again I’d be happy to give my business to these guys.

I had such a great experience renting paddle boards from SUP California! The staff was SUPER friendly, they were able to accommodate me and my 5 friends even though we called last minute! They met up with us exactly where we wanted to paddle out, and we just set up a meeting time for when we were done and they took care of the rest. The boards were all in great condition as well. I paddle board somewhat often in San Diego, and I’m so glad that I have found a solid paddle board rental company that I can go to any time I go down there!

Wow these guys are awesome! We wanted to try paddle boarding in PB, but didn’t know where to start. We found SUP California on Google, gave a call, and they brought us boards to our rental house on Mission Bay. They had different sizes and types of boards to choose from and were willing to work with our budget. We rented 4 boards for 2 days and found out later we’d paid less for 2 days than others do for a few hours. Great rates, quality equipment, and excellent customer service! Thanks SUP Cali, can’t wait to try a stand up paddle yoga class!
