Tammy Pham, MD

I just moved to San Diego and found Dr. Pham through my insurance. I needed a yearly check up and a new prescription for birth control.
The employee booking my appointment was wonderful. I asked if I was able to get a prescription for the birth control I was currently on. She wasn’t 100% sure, but she researched and called me back.
When I got to my appointment I waited 30 min to be seen, which honestly, should be expected when you’re seeing any kind of doctor. You’re not ordering fast food, you want an office where they take time to address your needs, not churn out as many patients a day as possible.
The nurse that took me back, Gina, was very personal-​able, she took her time in asking me questions and made sure I didn’t have any questions.
I don’t enjoy pap smears, I don’t think anyone really does, it’s uncomfortable and can sometimes be slightly painful. Dr. Pham was phenomenal. She could tell I was uneasy, and did everything to make me more comfortable. She made sure her hands were warm before the breast exam. She tried distracting me during the actual exam. Little things that really make a difference!
I can’t imagine anyone referring to her as cold. She talked to me as if we were old friends, rather doctor/​patient. I told her what BC I was currently on and she asked me how I felt on it. She didn’t try and get me to switch or try any other products. She answered all of my questions and was very professional.
So happy I found her!

Dr. Pham and everyone in her office are great! Let’s face it, it’s not fun going to the doctor but Dr. Pham always makes me feel comfortable. Her nurses are very sweet. If I ever have questions, Dr. Pham takes the time to call me back herself within the same day. Not only is she nice, she is also a very good doctor, when I had to have some bad tissue removed, she made sure she got me an appointment for surgery as soon as possible and she got it all, thank God! I trust her to take care of me.

My experience with Dr. Pham and her staff were always good. I had moved to San Diego in 1994 and was referred to her by my sister. I went to Dr. Pham for 12+ years or so. I found her to be very direct and blunt in her style (tough if you are sensitive and don’t like to hear the facts); she has always been professional and knowledgeable to me. Dr. Pham is straight-​forward as to what is required and what the diagnostics/​lab results mean. I always trusted Dr. Pham and her medical knowledge. Even now while in Dallas, I call upon her to get advice on my OB/​GYN concerns… she makes herself available. In addition, Robyn (office manager) has always been very helpful!

Dr. Pham and her team are absolutely amazing. I have been with her for more than 6 years and have never had better care. They take their time, listen to any concerns and genuinely take an interest in their patients.
Since I am a type 1 diabetic, I usually see Dr Pham a couple of times a year. She understands how that effects even just the simplest things with my health and always takes the extra minute to ensure she’s covered everything I may need addressed. Her and her team know exactly who I am, always put me at ease and usually have me laughing about something before my visit is complete. Robin, who is with billing and usually greets me when I call or come in, is also great with any insurance questions or hiccups that may arise.
This is a wonderful team and a very caring, efficient and effectively run office.

I’ve being seeing Dr. Pham for my last few annuals as well as other other appointments for issues that have popped up in between. The staff is always professional and friendly. My visits have always been timely. Dr. Pham is great! I have never felt uncomfortable in her office or during my exams. She has given me sound advice some things I needed to hear. I was surprised to see the negative comments about Dr. Pham’s demeanor… argumentative and cold? I would never describe her like that. I really got a laugh from the reviewers suggesting she gets «kickbacks» for referring to specialists or prescribing medication. I work in healthcare myself and that is ridiculous. If you needed attention to an issue that was out of your doctor’s scope or needed a specific medication and she DIDN’T help you get access to those things, now that would be dishonest. Let’s pump the brakes on the conspiracy theories, people. We all know the healthcare system in America is crazy, and Dr. Pham and her staff are just doing their best!

I have been going to Dr. Pham for over 10 years and she has been GREAT ! ! !
I feel like she is my primary doctor and she provides me referrals to other great doctors.
She always has time to answer all my questions.

Dr. Pham is fantastic! I am fairly new to the area and came to her office as a new patient for an annual exam and subsequently for an IUD. I felt comfortable with both the staff and Dr. Pham from the get go. She is patient, knowledgeable and caring and has always taken the time to listen and provide answers to all of my questions. Rx, appointment scheduling and even parking has always gone smoothly. Highly recommend for anyone seeking quality GYN care!

I have been seeing Dr. Pham for 4 years now. I come in once a year and I enjoy my exams as much as one can. She is very straight forward with me and also very genuine. I appreciate that she cares about me. Her staff is amazing too. I needed to get in before I went out of town, they were able to push around the schedule and get me in the same day I called. They are very compassionate people.

Dr. Pham is so wonderful and makes you feel so comfortable. I’ve been seeing her as my gyno for just over four years. Her staff is very friendly and helpful, their office is always bright, warm and inviting. I’ve hardly ever had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes so Dr. Pham runs the fine line between being time efficient and making sure her patients needs are more than met. I’d recommend this doctor to anyone.

I am very surprised to see negative reviews because my experience with Dr. Pham was about as positive as a trip to the gynecologist could be. (Unfortunately, I think people are more inclined to write a negative review for a doctor than a positive one.)
I went to see Dr. Pham about getting an IUD. She performed an initial exam and gave me a full run down of all my options, including all the possible risks.
My subsequent visit was for the IUD insertion. Dr. Pham and her nurse talked me through the whole procedure. They had me talking and it was over before I knew it.
Although going to the gynecologist can be an awkward experience, Dr. Pham and her staff made me feel very comfortable at every visit. Dr. Pham was both informative and personable.
I would absolutely recommend her to a friend… or Unilocal stranger.

I’ve been a patient for a year and I have had nothing but problems with the entire office. From bad lab results to improper payments to lack of communication. I have had to do a lot of leg work to get ANY information from this office and I don’t think I could be more annoyed with a doctor or their office.
Dr. Pham, while extremely apologetic in my last appointment for how I’ve been treated, has no real bed-​side manner. Very apathetic, largely late to her appointments and not very helpful when you ask her questions (I took to webmd instead of talking to her further because she was so scatterbrained from being behind on appointments all day). I’m in the process of talking with Robin, who is with billing, and it’s amazing how different her service is compared to others in the office. She is probably the only person that has been able to explain anything to me. Although, a technician wrote incomplete notes in my file (shocker) and they’re gone for the day so she said she’d call me back Monday with more information on the lab tests. We’ll see if she actually does.
All in all, I’m finding a new doctor. This experience has been pretty bad.

Best Doctor ever and great staff, I have been a patient for the last 5 years, she runs on time great bedside manner I love how the staff works great together you can feel the love in the office, I would totally recommend Dr.Pham.

I was referred to Dr. Pham from my primary. I was so pleased with everything from checking in, talking to her nurse and even Dr. Pham herself. She really listened and paid attention to what I was lookng for. I am not sure why there are negative people on here leaving biased opinions when I was treated with nothing but respect and a sense of ease. She was very professional and her staff as well. I highly recommend her for any females GYN issues. Great job Dr. Pham and thank you for all your help.

I have been going to Dr. Tammy Pham for almost 4 years now. I come in twice a year for check ups and have come in a few times for health problems. I LOVE Dr. Pham! She is extremely knowledgable in gynecology and gastrointestinal issues! Many of my issues have actually been GI or IBS related but I always call her first because I can’t tell the difference between cyst pain and GI stuff!
She is eager to learn how to relate better to her younger patients and I think she is doing great. S
There were times when I was switching insurance companies, I forgot to fill my prescription, etc… where her team came through for me multiple times with short notice. I unfortunately have been that pain I the butt patient, she and her team have shown me nothing but kindness and outstanding customer service and care.
I hope Dr. Pham is still around when I decide to have kids because I have heard great testimony of her expertise in that area as well.

I wish I had read the reviews before I went. I didn’t think doctors had Unilocal reviews. I guess this one is bad enough to have one.
I was referred to her by my primary care physician for a second opinion as I wasn’t happy with the woman I was seeing for my hormone replacement therapy. I instantly wasn’t happy with her but then thought to myself that I was just being picky and judgmental. How could I hate the second doctor too?
She immediately fat-​shamed me. I’m 50 years old, having hormone issues and yes, I’m fat. Get over it! She actually told me that «all my problems would go away if I lost this weight». Thanks! That’s the message my head has been screaming at me my entire life. She is a cold be-​atch!
She recommended a uterine biopsy to rule out cancer. It was the most painful thing and she stabbed by vaginal wall in the process. I thought it was a bit overkill when all I wanted to know is should I change my HRT levels. I guess I’ll wait for the results and go from there.

During my first and only visit she claimed she could not find my IUD, and referred me to get additional (and very expensive) screening done. My IUD was in plain sight and exactly where it should have been, but I am sure she got a pretty kick back from referring me. Perhaps I should refer to her to an optometrist.

I wished I had read the reviews here before my wife visited the doctor’s office. One reviewer mentioned them being ‘dishonest’. So true. We only wanted a referral to have some test done and they tried to overcharge our insurance company. I told them if they do not rectify their over charging, I would file a complaint with the Medical Board of California. Their practice needs to be investigated. Please do yourself a favor and read the reviews before choosing this doctor.

I’ve been going to Dr. Pham for four or five years. I had no problem during that time, as I only went there for annuals and everything was pretty much okay.
A few months ago I went there for my yearly annual. I had felt a lump in my breast and she did too. She sent me for some tests and when the results came back. the tests didn’t show anything. I was concerned as I could still feel the lump. When I expressed these concerns she got impatient and snapped that my alternative was to have surgery and have the lump taken out. I asked if we should proceed with any other tests. She responded by saying we would follow up in 6 months as that was standard protocol. She then said that if it is cancer, breast cancer is slow growing so we will follow up in 6 months. Unbelievable!
Needless to say, I won’t be returning and am going to go get a second opinion.

I found Dr. Pham on Unilocal about 3 years ago and my first visit was fine everyone was nice and I was in and out, Dr. Pham was nice. Since then it’s really been down hill over the last few years and you’ll notice most of the complaints are the same cold, unapproachable, argumentative. Coming here has just continued to get worse. Dr. Pham has awful besdised mannor, she will tell you what side effects you can or cannont be experice, she is agrumetative and down right mean. The staff here doesen’t follow through and they sound annoyed when you call.

I got married at went on my husband’s much cheaper insurance so I had to find a new GYN. I used to go to Dr. Wedberg’s office in Mission Valley (my doctor was Dr. Marcy Thorton), and I absolutely loved it there. The office itself, the staff, and the doctor were so friendly and warm. I didn’t dread the GYN at all when I went there.
However, I went to Dr. Pham recently and maybe it just wasn’t the right fit for me. The doctor was just very stoic opposed to the friendliness and warmth I was accustomed to with Dr. Thorton. I don’t want to disclose too much personal information, but I believe there does need to be some connection between a patient and doctor, and it just didn’t happen here for me. Some medical problems are hard and scary for a patient, and I left here feeling cold instead of reassured and hopeful. I will not be going back.
