Tecolote Guitar Works

Bill moved his shop to Prescott, AZ earlier this year. Bill is a fantastic acoustic man, and Martins are his specialty. Impeccable workmanship!

I brought in a Jazzmaster (pronounced with a soft j, for all you Anchormen out there) neck to have the tuning holes enlarged and locking tuners installed.
Bill made quick work of it and my MIM JM now plays like a new fiddle.
(stays in tune!)

Bill really knows his stuff, I’ll be bringing my axes here for any mods and repairs for years to come.
His buddy now has the front portion of the building for retail where you can find all your accessories and, a really nice collection of new and used guitars.

I met Bill last week when I dropped off my Martin. I wanted work done on my finish to minimize the markings left by it’s previous owner… I truly feel that Bill is a stand-​up guy.
I am not very familiar with finish work, and Bill gave me a through break down (he was very knowledgeable). He was very honest about what to expect and what can be done. I don’t know much about guitars, so this really meant a lot to me.

I’m not a guitarist but I play one on TV. No, I don’t, actually.
But I am a courier /​errand runner who brings clients’ things to other people for repair… and this is one of the best and nicest businesses I have ever encountered. Professional, personable, fast, friendly and reasonable.

Is it an art gallery? Is it a guitar shop? YES! Easily one of the best things to come out of late 2007 and early 2008 was the opening of this great shop. Kat and Bill have put together a «mash-​up» of both of their loves and created a new masterpiece. Bill runs the guitar repair shop and is a master Luthier. That’s what a guitar repairman is called. Natch. And Kat runs the front of the store with an art gallery and music therapy classes. The events that they hold every couple of months are a ton of fun and feature art work from some of their friends and local musicians and artists. Check the place out for yourself. And if you need a guitar worked on, make sure you see Bill.

Bill, the guitar genius behind the counter will help you with any & all repairs when it comes to that Fender Jazz or Guild acoustic you so cherish. Kat, the curator of the gallery will soon make you feel like you’re chatting with a longtime family friend once you meet her. Her choice of art & photography is quite good. They don’t just put anything on the walls over here. Its all quality. You’ll agree too once you pay them a visit. Do it, you’ll thank me later. Now GO!

It’s all about guitars! Whether it’s getting yours repaired, restored, or checking out the guitar art, Tecolote Guitar Works is a must for guitar lovers. I went to their Guitar Art Show opening and was blown away by the quality, beauty and variety of the tiny guitars designed by local artists and musicians. They were all so unique and a «work of art.» And they’ve extended this art show through ²⁄₂₈ so you still have time to check it out. One of my favorites was Zach Goode’s «Hindu Guitar.»
I look forward to the next art show in March.
