Established by Brian and Janet Walsh in June 2005, we take pride in our reputation for quality styles, unique selections and outstanding customer service.

I LOVE shopping here! There is always amazing dresses and Janet makes sure I always look great and have the appropriate accessories! I shop here all the time because there is always new stock and an AMAZING selection of inventory. I have bought outfits for everything from Valentine’s Day to special events. And I’ll keep coming back for more! :D

Every time I need a special outfit I always head for Temptress. Just recently I stopped by for a new outfit and was pleasantly surprised to be helped by Janet (the owner). She set me up with an amazing outfit and accessories and gave me some really great pointers on how to change my outfit up for different occasions.
The clothes are unique, fun, cute and amazingly sexy. I always feel like a million bucks with the clothes from Temptress and get compliments thru the roof.
I cant wait for my next shopping trip back to check out the new merchandise and to see whats new on the sale rack.

I’ve been coming to Temptress for about 2 years now. I really love pin up and vintage style but sometimes I’m not sure what looks good on my body and what I can wear with my own style. The owner Janet is always really awesome about finding me pieces that work on me. The quality of her pieces are really great and she has a lot of the big pin up brands like Bettie Page. Plus she has a ton of selection.
She always has cute gifts for friends or cute little stocking stuffer type things too.
I drive to OB just to check out Temptress and I always find a million dresses that make me feel like a million bucks. Whenever I have a special event I know I can find something perfect there. Or just for cute every day dresses and outfits I always find so much stuff I love.

My favorite store in all of San Diego! Whenever I go in there, I literally want to buy EVERYTHING! I have gained so much positivity from working with Janet as one of her PinUp models and as the Face of Temptress in 2015! Janet has taught me a lot about PinUp modeling, and I feel I have grown from my experiences :)
Her clothes make you feel sexy, no matter your size or shape. Janet herself is a wonderful woman who will give you advise and encourage to feel great about yourself as you strut her awesome clothes. She is a female entrepreneur, rocking out the vintage/​rockabilly/​pinup looks for San Diego women and beyond — doing the good work to make us all feel great!

This is my favorite pin-​up store in San Diego. But my daughters went there his morning during business hours and the shop was closed. It was 40 minutes after it was supposed to be open. Nobody answered the phone either and there wasn’t any notes or signs or posts on their website or FB page saying it was closed for a specific reason today. My girls were trying to buy a birthday gift. Disappointed. :(

Update to previous: I came in to purchase my model an outfit for a pinup contest. Not only were they open but Janet explained to me they were doing construction and painting during the time I stopped by.
The clothing here is excellent quality and very reasonable priced. I loved the service I would have to say Janet is amazing and such a sweet person.
The store is clean and they had all the sizes of clothing and Style of clothing I needed for an authentic pinup look. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Had the pleasure of meeting Janet, the owner and she was just so sweet! She offered to take down my info when the right size dress came in. I appreciate that kind of welcoming, friendly, and relaxed customer service. There is a GREAT selection of suits and accessories here. Lots of great repro brands: Esther Williams and Fables by Barrie to name a few. I bought a cute pair of studded sunglasses that fit my face perfectly.

Drove all the way down from oside and they never opened. Signed said they would return at 12 but never opened, waited for an hour. Windowshopped and everything looked awesome. Disappointed that I never got to buy anything though…

Great staff and quite possibly the ONLY place where I can find retro bathing suits and pin-​up/​rockabilly clothes. They’e pricey, but they are worth it.

I love that this boutique has so much FUN clothing reminiscent of the good ol’ days — and it’s all classic! What’s best is the owner makes sure that you have a good shopping experience, and lets you know about up and coming events such as fashion shows or hair and make-​up classes. Not only does the boutique have pin-​up style clothing but also other things such as lingerie, and aprons. Very nice!

Such a fun place to shop for rockabilly, pin-​up girl, vintage look for men and women!
The staff was so nice and helpful. It’s a very small boutique but they carry many different items. Price point seems reasonable. I highly recommend.

Cutest little store! Owner is a doll, so helpful & cheery. Good range of all things retro & pin up, swimwear, sunglasses, hats, panties, dresses, earrings, bows for your hair, bags, heels, lingerie list goes on! And they hold regular events. All this in a cute little store tucked of the main drag of OB! What more could a girl want! Sun, beach & a pin up store!

Love this place! Just bought a gorgeous black Unique Vintage dress that fits perfect.
The staff are always extremely helpful and friendly. And their window displays do a great job of luring me in.
The only problem I have, is finding too many great pieces and not having the bank account to buy them all!

This is a fantastic store! Good, but not huge selection of vintage style pin-​up dresses that are expensive, but definitely worth the price. Janet was so nice in helping my friend and I find dresses and telling us about the different clothing lines that the store carried. The fantastic customer service combined with absolutely gorgeous dresses means I’ll definitely be heading back there.

I like Tempress. A lot. I think it’s a great little store and really cute. It’s unique and other than Bettie Page Clothing in downtown, there really isn’t anything else like it in San Diego. Plus, I know a lot of girls who shop there, have been in their fashion shows, and even do photography for them.
However…uhg. And I hate to put this out there, but I was really irked by the girl who worked behind the counter about 6 months ago. She had a really bad attitude and seemed really upset at the fact that she had to help us. She barely acknowledged that we were in the same store as she was. And she kept checking her phone for something. But when, who I believed was the owner/​manager came out from the backroom, the girl rolled her eyes at the lady and said outloud that she didn’t know why she had to write everything down and made a big deal out of it. Her annoyance, annoyed me. The owner/​manager, on the other hand, was really nice and asked if we found everything okay, which we had on our own. But I haven’t been back in, yet.
On a side note, I’m really happy to see the shop thriving outside of the rude employee. I hope it continues to do so. And I will be back in soon!

If every mom & pop shop took a page out of Janet’s book, there would be no recession.
I came here looking for a graduation dress and since Temptress has a website, I had already found THE dress. I walked in, instantly found the dress, and browsed around for a bit since the dressing room was occupied. Janet was extremely attentive and offered me drink while I waited to try on my dress.
Once I made my way into the dressing room, I slipped into the dress and instantly fell in love. It could not have been a more perfect experience… I thought. Janet whizzed around the corner, pair of dazzling red patent pumps in hand, immediately making me feel like a rockstar! She could sell anyONE anyTHING. There were compliments coming from all directions, and there was no way I was leaving that store without that dress AND those shoes. Lucky for me I stumbled in during their Mother’s Day buy-​one-​get-​one-​half-​off sale!
She has the cutest selection of bags and accessories, and though it is a small store she let me know they get new shipments in every week! Love love love.
