Super dog friendly! The beer selection is great and the staff is friendly and attentive. There is also free pool! Love coming here.

Cute little friendly bar, the staff are awesome and they have amazing drink specials on Monday night! $ 3 pints and $ 12 pitchers plus free pool! It was a particularly hot night so my drunk little clammy hands made it difficult to shark that pool like the pro I am, but lo and behold — they provide baby powder for those sticky southern Californian nights. It’s a comfortable, cosy venue that doesn’t get packed out with the normal loud assholes you find on Garnet :)

If you like cheap drinks, free pool and darts, and a mellow divey vibe different from the rest of PB this is definitely the place. Miss being able to walk up the alley to play pool here lots of nights.

Come here if you are a Lions fan! Or come here for cheap beer, free pool games, & free darts! The bartenders are super friendly as well. I’ve only been here on Sundays while the game is on. but you can get a beer for $ 2 :D. There is also an actual dog that roams around the bar. At first I thought it was the bar’s mascot dog, but apparently she was one of the customer’s so she’s not there all the time. She is the sweetest dog ever and will bark along when people go crazy and begin to cheer :). I believe they don’t have a full bar here. they only sell beer/wine.

Neat little dive. Has a couple of pool tables and a halfway decent local beer selection. Hung out here for an hour or so until some belligerent asshole who works here’s exuded to take off his shirt at 1130 and start picking fights with anyone in the bar that didn’t want to leave their drinks behind and leave immediately. He then decided to ruin our friends’ game and pocket all their balls. Should we have called the cops? It’s too bad that I actually like this place. I will not be returning. Stay away.

Love it! I see the old english D everywhere(that means Detroit Tigers!!). This place is the first place I’ve seen in PB with real metal darts++++. Pitchers are cheap, good specials, and go tigs!

The Dog’s bark is definitely worse than its bite. What kind of bar charges a cover on a Wednesday night? I mean… As appealing as the $ 1 pint night was… The cover charge definitely through me for a loop. Secondly, this place has a piss poor layout. The ratio of people to places to sit was highly disproportionate and once it got really crowded, you couldn’t play pool or even open the door to the damn closet sized bathroom. While the service received was just above average, and the ‘on tap’ selection was admirable… The lack of liquor and claustrophobic atmosphere was not so much. Personal suggestion… If The Dog is doing well enough to survive the bustling streets of PB, maybe it should consider broadening its horizons and adding more liquor options and expanding just enough so that people can have the ability to breathe in between their gulps of brew…

This is one of the bars that I almost cruised down to three or four days a week. Dave is awesome, Theresa is awesome and they all ways are super cool! Wednesday is $ 1 pints, and Sunday is free pool and there are some cool people here just hanging out watching sports and getting turnt up!

I love The DOG!!! Esp during football season. Only Lions bar in town and it gets official when football season comes around. Great beers on tap, and the owner is super cool.

The Dog is a very relaxed bar, just off the beaten path of Garnet. They don’t have a huge beer selection, but they have all of the ones you’d expect with a couple specialties on tap. Their prices are unbeatable, their jukebox free and pool tables often open. It’s a great place to either sit and talk, play some pool or darts or watch a football game. My only issue with it is that it will randomly become crowded with the typical PB groups(no doubt for the cheap drinks), making it nearly impossible to maintain a conversation or jump on a pool table.

We had a great time when we went here. Pros: sweet juke machine, cheap beer, pool and darts, lotsa people, hot dog stand out front. Cons: freaking ridiculously hot and stuffy, lotsa people. I’ll probably end up going back someday and might even bump up the rating if they kick on the AC.

one minute we’re sipping on a beer at a nearby bar, and the next minute we end up here, in this stuffy little bar, with pool tables occupying all the free space. beers are DIRTCHEAP, which is good, but also very very bad. spent about an hour outside talking, none of which I remember and if I did, I’d surely be embarrassed. next day had to go to work and was sorely hungover. moral of the story: this places gets your fucked up for cheap.

The first time I went to The Dog, I wasn’t feeling it but as the night went on, I ended up really liking it. So when it was on the list of places to go to on a recent pub-crawl I participated in, I was happy. Small, kick-back bar with pool tables, darts and a jukebox. It isn’t like other bars you would find in PB. They have a good selection of beer. A pitcher cost us about $ 12.

Was just here on a Saturday. I almost don’t want to give it a good review because I don’t want more people to go. I’m sure the locals don’t either… so, here’s a short review. Cheap beer. Good people. Pool. That’s it. Not pretentiously divey, not PBDB filled. It’s a normal bar for normal people. If you want to grind up on a college junior, the Tavern is across the street. Go there.

«The dog» is a fairly apt description of the typical woman our hero is likely to bump into at this bar. PROS: — It’s small, cozy, and comfortable bar where you can just sit around and talk. CONS: — Divey and not very outstanding in any manner. — The pitchers aren’t too cheap, and the glasses are small. — The two pool tables see some heavy play. Good luck getting a game. — The dart board is awkwardly situated in the corner and not very playable.
