Description

Specialties

Although we do many retrofit installations — and we do a great job with them! — we have become known as specialists in high end, precision engineered products such as the multi-slide and multi-fold doors, the lift and slide, and the popular pocket lift and slide. Products such as these demand very exacting installation procedures, critical to the success of the job. We are AAMA certified, CIM certified, factory trained and waterproofing trained — all of which are necessary for the work we do. We are licensed, bonded and insured and ready to go to work for you!

History

Established in 2008.

After a number of years installing doors and windows with another contractor, in 2003 we obtained our general contractor’s license as well as our glazing license in order to be a full service window company. We are proud to say that after doing thousands of door and window jobs in southern California, we have never had a complaint against our license.

In 2008 we incorporated as The Door and Window Consultants, Inc. That name personifies what we do — we consult. We are not a sales based company, although we can and do sell window and door products. However, our strength lies in solving problems: helping our customers resolve their door and window challenges, interpret their dreams, offer design solutions that meet their current needs.

Meet the Business Owner

Randall B.

Business Owner

In his teenage years, Randy worked with his father in the construction business, learning all aspects of building. In 1981 the family moved to San Diego, and Randy took a job with a contractor who installed doors — hundreds of them! Although it was a boring job, Randy perfected his skill (and his speed!) but found the job lacked any challenge or imagination. He worked with a few other contractors and in 2003 obtained both a B license (general contractor) and a C-17 glazing license.

Today, his crews are kept busy working all over San Diego and into Orange County, The jobs range from newly constructed homes and office buildings, from rambling single level homes to high-rise condos and everything in between.
