I think this place was pretty decent for mall food court food. I’d rather pay half as much for a combo plate than go to Miami grill and pay at least double for decent food. Mike got the gyro plate and I got the market combo with chicken sandwich, hummus w/pita, and tabbouleh. I really liked how I could customize my order and even though I didn’t pay, the prices were decent. I was a little surprised when the lady started speaking Spanish– we thought she was Greek at first! The food was not greasy and it was good. The chicken could have used more flavor and some of the pita was a little doughy… I tried some of Mike’s rice and it was just garlicky goodness! We ate overlooking an ice hockey game– although I probably wouldn’t go back to Great Gyros unless I really wanted some Greek food fast, I would try some of the other food court dining options.

First off, please realize this is in the UTC mall food court. There aren’t gourmet fast food places in this spot. Go to Boudin’s by Nordstroms if you want fancy service and food. I like this place. I’ve always felt that I have had a good meal, the lunch combo is a good deal and they prepare it pretty quick, especially with how busy that place gets during lunch. This isn’t the better Greek food that I’ve had, I don’t go there expecting that. If you live, work or are in the UTC mall area, and are stopping by the food court above the ice rink, this is one of the few places I’d recommend there.

Man, I just have nothing good to say about this place. I was in the mood for a gyro for a few days, so when I walked through the food court and saw the name, I was psyched. I walked up to the counter and, well, waited for about three minutes before anyone came up from behind the wall to even notice me. When the employee did notice me, she continued to walk over to stock up the napkin dispensers, forcing me to wait another two minutes without even acknowledging my presence. Once she did come over to the counter, I couldn’t help but notice that she was filthy. I don’t mean that she had a spot or two on her polo shirt, that’s to be expected at a restaurant, especially if you’re in the kitchen and up front… but I mean disguisting. Sweat stains that ran 12″ underneath her arms. Food all over the front of her shirt. I’ve seen homeless people living under bridges that looked more sanitary. She took my order with no eye contact and no smile, I paid and waited. A long time. When I finally received my gyro platter, the rice was dry as though it were hours old, the salad was swimming in dressing so that there was nothing crisp about any of the ingredients… it was soupy. The gyro itself was so dry that the term«jerky» comes to mind, and there was such an overpowering cumin flavor that I could taste nothing else. On top of it all, it was not inexpensive, and I paid almost $ 10 for this culinary disaster. Definitely won’t be returning. This makes food court food look and taste like airplane food. Horrid.
