Specialties

The Keating Hotel features 35 custom-designed luxury guest rooms «stanzas», by world renowned Italian design firm, Pininfarina. Each stanza, Italian for loft style guest room, incorporates contemporary design elements juxtaposed amongst historic building details.

History

Established in 2007.

Standing as one of the oldest buildings in San Diego, the Keating is truly a testament to the past. In 1890, Fannie Keating began construction of the building as a tribute to her late husband, George J Keating. Designed by the Reid Brothers, best known as the architects of the Hotel Del Coronado, the Keating building instantly became one of the most prestigious office buildings in San Diego. Complete with the modern conveniences of steam heat and a wire cage elevator, the Keating rivaled buildings in New York and Chicago. Today, the Keating Hotel breathes fresh life into the buildings history, combining the old with the new, the Keating showcases modern Italian design punctuated by the use of classic historic details.
