The Kids Corner

We brought both our children here. They received excellent care and came home happy! We appreciated especially Kristine’s willingness to use the cloth diapers we provided. The transition to potty training was good too.

We sent both of our children here. Our son went from age one, and our daughter went sporadic all when school was out. Both of them loved being there. Kristine is so wonderful. She provides a caring, clean environment where the kids enjoy going. They learned a lot from her in preparation for preschool. She also prepares healthy meals and snacks for the kids every day.

Our daughter, O, went to daycare at Kids Corner from the age of 6 months to 18 months. We loved it for many reasons.
Learning: Ms. G is bilingual and taught O many words in Spanish. By 18 months, O was counting to 18, singing her alphabet and other songs. They do many crafts with the kids.
Part time/​Flexible/​Affordable: O was there 3 days a week and once a month went in 4 days a week. I paid weekly.
Cook healthy meals: Between 6 – 12 months I brought all Olivia food (including breast milk). After 12 months O started eating their food, and loved it!
Dog: O loved the dog Shelby. Shelby is really friendly with the kids.
Nature: They took the kids on walks. The also received plenty of play outside in their backyard. O loved the swings that hung from a tree.
Well behaved kids: Everyone was a little family somehow they got all kids to sit and eat at the table. They played so well together which is rare to see from kids their age. O knew all the kids names and prayed for each one of them before bed every night.
It was hard to leave Kids Corner. We left because it was too far from our home and work (took me about 1hr15min each way). Ms. G cried the last day O attended. My husband was ready to cry as well.

My kids have been attending The Kids Corner for almost three years — both since they were infants. I knew it was the right place when my kids (both starting around 9 months old) would start squealing and kicking their feet when we pulled up to the front. Ms. Kristine and Ms. G not only care for my children, they truly love them and treat them as their own.
The kids have a lot of fun creating art projects, playing in the backyard or going to the park, and learning preschool concepts. My oldest learned his numbers and alphabet before he was two from The Kids Corner. Ms. G often speaks Spanish to the children which is an extra bonus! My 1 ½ year old knows more Spanish than I do.
The Kids Corner also offers part-​time care even for infants and is reasonably priced — something that I have found to be rare in San Diego. We drive out of our way just to utlize The Kids Corner. I am also amazed by the flexibility in drop off/​pick up times, switching days, and special needs which is a top priority for our family.

Great quality daycare!!! Both my children have attended this daycare and I couldn’t be more satisfied. It’s always clean, children are well fed, and truly cared for. My 3yr old has been going for a couple years and it has become a home away from home. A true sign of a great daycare is happy children! Childcare can be chaotic but rarely is anyone even crying. As a mother of 9yr girl & 3yr boy I’ve researched and visited many daycares in my Mommy years and I can honestly say this is a hidden gem. Kristine and her helper/​mother in law continue to add so much to my son’s life in so many ways.

I first heard about this place through word on the street, and when I went to visit I was pretty amazed at the cleanliness and the big backyard. But, over time, over the 1 ½ years my sons have gone to this daycare, the ladies have won my heart over.
The kids learn their ABC’s, colors, Numbers and counting, and they are taken on a walk almost every day. The destinations include a giant church parking lot and a big park. The kids get their exercise and are always happy by the time you pick them up.
And for the times that they stay indoors, it’s all toys, sharing, meals (which are home-​cooked and nutritious!!) and your kid will NOT be plopped in front of a big tv and ignored. They will learn nursery rhymes and I’ve never heard these ladies raise their voices at any kids at any time.
These ladies really take their jobs seriously and you can trust your kid here.
