Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Nathan graduated cum laude from Cleveland’s Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Science in physics. While there, Nathan also studied astronomy and Hebrew, and he was an active member and leader in the local chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Nathan also works with Jeff Lake of Lake, A.P.C., a veteran civil litigation and medical marijuana lawyer in San Diego. Before graduating from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2010, Nathan clerked with a civil law firm, interned for the late Judge Napoleon Jones, Jr. in the San Diego federal court, and interned for the San Diego County Public Defender. While attending law school, Nathan received various honors including Outstanding Oral Advocate for appellate «moot court» and the highest grades in the class for constitutional law, and energy law. Nathan also was an Inaugural Editor for the Journal of Climate and Energy Law.
